I think Jamie Bells ears are bigger! And DSs hair is lighter (though he is sporting a 1980s barnet!), and his jaw a teeny bit widea, but he looks a bit like him in the pics of JB aged about 18 which I am incapable of linking to

Scuppered on sundowner front as it is raining Sad Though still hot Wink However no we get to try the huge complimentary umbrellas! Not sure how we'll fit them down the street with the mad traffic/pedestrians Grin

Good that it's all over, Crem. Let's hope his recovery is better than what's been happening up to now. I hope your DM is coping ok, too?

florascotianew · 01/09/2016 16:02

Thank goodness the op is over, Crem. All good wishes for your DF's recovery - and for your recovery, too, from all the stress and worry. Flowers

Blackduck · 01/09/2016 16:09

Glad the op is over Cremo.

Rosebag · 01/09/2016 16:20

Relieved it's done crem . Well done all of you for your resilience xxxx

Fretting about rudy and her DS Sad

GiddyGiddyGoat · 01/09/2016 16:33

Phew Crem, very relieved to hear the waiting is over. Hope he'll be on the mend soon... well done for pushing to make it happen.

Rudy, thinking of you.... X

hattymattie · 01/09/2016 16:38

Glad DDad is out and in recovery Crem. Now you need to go home and rest a bit.

Hoping to hear from Rudy xx

Cremolafoam · 01/09/2016 16:46

Just remembered I have a ticket for the Deep blue Sea at cinema tonight and promised a friend I'd be there.
Shit. Will have to have a dose before facing Rattigan I think.Confused Dad too tired for visitors anyway. WIBU to snooze in the cinema?Grin

GiddyGiddyGoat · 01/09/2016 16:48

It is a great film though Crem... but a bit err, bleak.

Cremolafoam · 01/09/2016 16:50

It the NT live broadcast. grim , er yes. I'll see how I feel in an hour.

bigTillyMint · 01/09/2016 17:02

Cremo, I'm sure your friend would understand if you duck out given the circs.

I am praying that no news is good news for Rudy and her DS and family.

Hope you can all breathe a little easier now, Crem, especially ddad. Wishing him the speediest of recoveries. I'd opt for a evening on the sofa, if I were you.

Thinking about Rudy.

herbaceous · 01/09/2016 17:25

Good news re dad, Crem. At least that bit's over. I too would favour couch-based evening, but sometimes it's good to be taken out of oneself. One's internal life can be exhausting!

I too am wondering/worrying about Rudy.

Have spent today in Epping Forest with chums since nursery days. Every school holidays we get together for a picnic and for 'easter egg' hunt in the forest. Though if it's not easter, other sweets are substituted. Then we go over to the nearby posh cafe and drink coffee at a table outside, while the kiddies go wild and climb trees, occasionally reporting to us with cuts to sooth or arguments to solve. It's great. I mentioned our vague notions of moving to Northumberland, and was widely pooh-poohed. And it did seem madness, surrounded by Epping Forest and good chums.

In trivial news, I have shed two pounds since holiday. Thankfully. Am considering herbal supplements to try and mitigate menopausal problems, mainly hot flushes, bloating, lack of libido, dry fanny, and total collapse of muscle structure. I already take a multi-vit with magnesium, but it's like a drop in the ocean. Black cohosh keeps being mentioned. Anyone tried it?

Lalsy · 01/09/2016 17:45

Gosh, would duck out if you want to Crem. Haven't seen the NT version but the other film was a great snivel-fest. Hope you relax, whatever you do, and can breathe again.

Herbs, NICE says safety is unproven and there have been various concerns over the years, with most studies being less than six months so long-term safety has never been assessed properly (a quick search suggests). Quite re Northumberland.

MrsSchadenfreude · 01/09/2016 17:47

Glad the op went OK, Crem. At least it's out the way now.

Had lovely day in genteel Broadstairs which included a nice swim in the sea. I find it really relaxing, bobbing about on the waves on my own. I'd like to live by the sea, I think.

Sitting in kitchen under glass roof with glass of wine and some olives now. DD2 is drawing and DH is reading.

bigTillyMint · 01/09/2016 17:50

LOL at Broadstairs being genteel!
The holiday let sounds lovely MrsS.

Sounds great Mrs S. When on my recent British seaside hols I went swimming in the sea nearly every day - I love it. Ds2 makes tea on the beach with a kelly kettle whilst me, ds1 and dh bob about and dog runs up and down barking. Bliss!

bigTillyMint · 01/09/2016 17:56

What is a Kelly kettle, GGG?

You lot who swim in the sea are hardcore - I only risk it when it is like soup!

It's not a holiday for me unless I swim in the sea, butI tend not to go in later than the end of September.

In S&B news, I bought some Schwarzkopf hair oil reduced in Morrison's and it is great for my parched frizz.

Lalsy · 01/09/2016 18:12

Rudy, Flowers. We are all here and all thinking of you (don't feel you have to post if it isn't helpful for you). x

GiddyGiddyGoat · 01/09/2016 18:12

Sounds very gruelling for all concerned Rudy. 5 hours?!?
Will keep everything crossed for now and all day tomorrow too.
Take care lovely. X

hattymattie · 01/09/2016 18:20
