I think Jamie Bells ears are bigger! And DSs hair is lighter (though he is sporting a 1980s barnet!), and his jaw a teeny bit widea, but he looks a bit like him in the pics of JB aged about 18 which I am incapable of linking to

Scuppered on sundowner front as it is raining Sad Though still hot Wink However no we get to try the huge complimentary umbrellas! Not sure how we'll fit them down the street with the mad traffic/pedestrians Grin

All my hopes are with Rudy that the procedure makes a real difference and sets DS on the road to recovery. Similarly , wishing Crems Ddad well though his operation. Flowers. Do please give us updates when you can...both xxx

Beachy wasps are in my room 101. Have a safe trip home!

CV great that DS has decided! how do you feel about it?

In trivial S&B news I am no closer to sorting out Saturdays outfit...I think I'll have a hunt through the cupboard and see if there's anything I haven't worn for ages that might do the trick. However I like the idea of fishnets Monty ...just a bit worried the black ones might make me look a bit wench-like. GGG I really rate Wolfords..they're worth the money imho.

Taking DD to enrol today...

magimedi · 01/09/2016 08:23

Another one who will be thinking of you, Crem & Rudy. Flowers

CointreauVersial · 01/09/2016 08:56

Rose - yes, I'm pleased he's chosen college, although from a selfish point of view, school would have been more convenient as regards getting his sisters home, once I go full time. It's not about me, though. The final hurdle is the college interview tomorrow when he'll find out exactly what courses he can do - ordinarily this would have happened before the start of term, but the school inexplicably decided to go back today. If the interview goes badly (it shouldn't do....), he will no doubt flounce back to school; they are keeping his seat warm just in case. Hmm

Anyway, first day back (for the girls) went swimmingly, and we were actually early! This won't last.

Rose and Crem, you are in my thoughts. Flowers Argh....my autocorrect just wrote Rise and Crown....

CointreauVersial · 01/09/2016 08:56

Rose and Crown, even....

MrsSchadenfreude · 01/09/2016 09:12

Yes, sending good vibes for the operations today, and the road to recovery.

Cremolafoam · 01/09/2016 11:11

Dads op delayed because of wheezy chest. Dad now has a wheezy chest because of all the stress. Surgeon says he has 'concerns' but would like to proceed this afternoon. Just hoping now. With a few heathen prayers thrown in.

Rudy wishing ds everything good this morning

Blackduck · 01/09/2016 11:14

Oh god Cremo - it's never ending......

Rudy hope things are going well...

NUFC69 · 01/09/2016 11:15

Oh, Crem. A few prayers from me, too.

herbaceous · 01/09/2016 11:15

Christ on a bike, Crem.

motherinferior · 01/09/2016 11:25

Oh buggeroony, Crem.

bigTillyMint · 01/09/2016 12:04

Oh no Cremo. Fingers crossed for this afternoon.

Thinking of you Rudy x

Aaaaaaarghhhhh crem. I do hope they go ahead this afternoon. The waiting must be interminable.....,

DD is enrolled!!!!! She has an induction timetable for the first couple of weeks where they will work on a project ending in a stage presentation to which we are invited! Then we get the full time table and she will also have to start English and maths classes which are provided at the theatre. . Aibu and very silly to be so, so excited for her? I also secretly would love to sit in on the module entitled Historical Context of Performing Arts. Blush and wouldn't mind "dance improvisation" either... Grin

Lalsy · 01/09/2016 12:34

Hell's bells, Cremo.

If I prayed, a blooming torrent of them would be going towards you and Rudy today. Flowers

Rose, how utterly lovely. No of course you are not being silly - she is where she wants to be doing what she wants to do. Best of everything to her.

And to your ds, CV. I hope the interview goes well and he has a fine old time at college (but glad school keeping a chair for him just in case Smile).

Cremolafoam · 01/09/2016 13:29

Rose that's so lovely. Not one bit silly to be proud and delighted. Id feel the same. Well done her!Flowers

Still waitingBiscuit......

bigTillyMint · 01/09/2016 13:36

CV and Rose, your DC's next years sound great!

Cremo Angry and fingers crossed.

Rudy, thinking of you xxx

Just back from Bluewater with DS. Got him more shirts for Work Experience (should have just got more done in Vietnam, would have been much cheaper!) and shoes for WE and school. He has chosen black suedeHmm

Rose I am so very happy for you and Dd!

Cremo :(

Rudy?

MontserratCaballe · 01/09/2016 13:49

Thoughts and prayers from SE London for Rudy and Crem.

Rose, you should be excited. Dd has done brilliantly. Wrt tights, fishnets not too racy for evening I wouldn't think. Or go maxi dress and hosiery free Smile

motherinferior · 01/09/2016 13:56

In inconsequential news:

DD2 made the world's most awesome sandwich for lunch - chicken, avocado and Brie with mustard on lightly roasted home-made granary

I am bizarrely exhausted. Do the rest of you who've had a bereavement this year find it sometimes just sneaks up and flattens you? I've slept better and Ladyjogged for two (2, ii) days running ffs...

Blackduck · 01/09/2016 14:14

MI yes to exhaustion. I spoke to my DBro yesterday who also said sometimes he's fine and then the smallest thing will set him off.....

I am back home after a fab week chez Beachy and awaiting DDad who is coming for a couple of days.

Rosebag · 01/09/2016 14:21

Yes, MI. I always remember one of my lecturers emphasising that grieving is a physical process. you get steamrollered when you least expect Sad

magimedi · 01/09/2016 14:50

Happened to me, many years ago, MI & it took about 6 - 9 months before I felt right again. A good nights sleep often made me feel more tired.

KBO.

Crem - I hope things happen soon.

Thinking of Rudy & her family.

Cremolafoam · 01/09/2016 15:35

Dad has been in and had a hemi-arthroplasty (involves removing the ball of the hip joint and replacing it with an artificial ball and metal stem)
He has, according to the Surgeon, heart, lung and skin problems and recovery is going to be a long haul. But he is in recovery, and at the very least the op is behind him.
We are all shattered. Confused
Thanks for all support crepeys

motherinferior · 01/09/2016 15:41

Oh Crem...at least it's over.

bigTillyMint · 01/09/2016 15:42

Cremo Flowers

Lalsy · 01/09/2016 15:44

Ah Cremo....glad it is done though. And I hope his recovery, even if slow, can include some treats and little joys after being in so much pain and discomfort.Flowers
