I think Jamie Bells ears are bigger! And DSs hair is lighter (though he is sporting a 1980s barnet!), and his jaw a teeny bit widea, but he looks a bit like him in the pics of JB aged about 18 which I am incapable of linking to

Scuppered on sundowner front as it is raining Sad Though still hot Wink However no we get to try the huge complimentary umbrellas! Not sure how we'll fit them down the street with the mad traffic/pedestrians Grin

Lawyer type here... (caveat - non practicing and no consumer law specialist!)
In the first instance I think just take them back and speak to grown up in charge. Stress you asked for advice and what you were told (B better than A). Explain you can't in fact use them for intended purpose. You are very "disappointed" and state what you would like them to do - not a full refund but exchange for A by paying £50.

In even of non satisfaction invoke your "consumer rights" and say goods were 1. misdescribed (told A better than B etc.) and 2. not fit for purpose sold - running shoes for you (after asking for advice re whether they would be suitable running shoes for you).

In event of continued non satisfaction either 1. cry 2. shout and swear 3. ask them if they really want to be taken to the small claims court? 4. all of the above.

In event of continued non- satisfaction tweet repeatedly about crap service and your terrible disappointment etc....

HTH!

GGG great advice! My BFF is the queen of getting good customer service/refunds/upgrades and that sounds like exactly what she would do.

Oh Rudy, that's such a shit time, but he's in the right place, diagnosed and in an excellent hospital. Thinking of you from far away. Flowers

herbaceous · 27/08/2016 21:14

I've been wondering about you all day, Rudy. It all sounds under control but so horribly stressful. I can o my imagine how you feel. I am thinking positive thoughts in your direction.

We had a ridiculous journey home from Newcastle. Plan was to go from hotel to the Baltic, drive to Durham to drop car at original hire place, catch train home. First of all DS was sick, then DP felt gyppy, then we drove to the car hire place in Durham to realise it closed at 12. This was 1pm. Had to go to the nearest other open Hertz place, which was Newcastle airport. So, back up the A1. Dropped off car, then got on to the metro, which went passed our original starting point three hours after we left it.

MrsSchadenfreude · 27/08/2016 21:24

Oh Rudy. At least he is in an excellent hospital. Much love to you all.
