I think Jamie Bells ears are bigger! And DSs hair is lighter (though he is sporting a 1980s barnet!), and his jaw a teeny bit widea, but he looks a bit like him in the pics of JB aged about 18 which I am incapable of linking to

Scuppered on sundowner front as it is raining Sad Though still hot Wink However no we get to try the huge complimentary umbrellas! Not sure how we'll fit them down the street with the mad traffic/pedestrians Grin

New dentist was lovely - but I have to have a deep clean to get rid of tartar in pockets. " appointments booked & am not looking forward to it.

BTM - hope your extractions are as OK as they can be.

BD - nearly afternoon now - hope it's not been too bad.

Sorry to hear about depression, MI - suspect it's inevitable but you are right about exercising.

Hope everyone else is OK - hard to keep track!

Of fto the beach for a swim - it's lovely here.

Rosebag · 23/08/2016 11:12

Grin MI actually it's nice and ideal for todays scorching heat....

lalsy Envy I will PM the link to the show in case you might have already seen it! Ace director and good reviews.

Crepeys, how can I deal with a DH that compulsively fills every spare drawer, shelf, ledge and bedside storage with CRAP... without actually LTB.?Angry

Blackduck · 23/08/2016 11:21

At Historic Chatham Dockyards in a quite fabulous chapel. Couple more presentations and then lunch, then heading for the train to the in-laws......

Rose, when you find the answer to that conundrum please tell me. Last night dh sat filling the flame thrower ( kitchen thing for toasting creme brulee) on the newly upholstered chairs. I nearly threw a fit. Hes actually proud of his crap like it is part of his personality . Ffs.

Run today better

magimedi · 23/08/2016 12:07

Rose, DH is better than he was (we had 11 moves in 20 years at one point, which did help) but still has a cupboard filled with crap.

CointreauVersial · 23/08/2016 13:38

NU - there was no interest from LA car hire place in our driving record, but I think if you hire in the UK they are more likely to want to see what points you have. Details of how to share your driving record are here, by the way (I'm Fleet Manager at work, so always checking people's points).

Herbs - Grin at "teenagers are annoying" comment. Said with the self-assured superiority that only a 7yo can muster!

Lalsy - fringe sounds fun. I don't think I'll be swanning off on any breaks sans DCs for a while yet. It's not leaving them alone that's the problem, more what they will get up to in our absence. Tempting, though, very tempting.

MI - that top looks great on you. I have a couple of hoodies passed down by DS (domestic use only), and am currently using a mascara rejected by DD2. Waste not, want not.

Lots of hairy hiking stories! I have to say, on our first day in Yosemite we were in such a deserted area, no phone reception, scrambling over rocks and past sheer drops....it did cross my mind that if we encountered a serious problem it would have been quite a job summoning help.

Anyway, the laundry is done, the suitcases away, and the sleep patterns are almost back to normal (DS and I had breakfast at 5.00am on Monday, because we'd been up for hours and were getting peckish). I have ploughed through 573 emails at work, and am slowly catching up. I'm trying not to think about Thursday's results.

Blackduck · 23/08/2016 13:53

Lalsy I recall running from venue to venue back in the day...,

Blackduck · 23/08/2016 13:56

I'm on holiday :)

motherinferior · 23/08/2016 15:17

Yay! BD!

I have it on good authority that MrsS's evening involved singing a duet. Ho yes.

Blackduck · 23/08/2016 15:26

With who and what song ;)

Kenny and dolly? Peters and lee? Travolta and Olivia NJ? I think we should be told.

motherinferior · 23/08/2016 15:44

Here in E Anglia it's BOILING hot. Unknown to be here and actually HOT.
Tonight have to cook dinner for 9 (IX, nine) people... not sure I have the energy - but got ds1 and his gfriend to make the pudding...

Love to all those Crepeys feeling a bit crappy for various reasons. X

GiddyGiddyGoat · 23/08/2016 16:35

hattymattie · 23/08/2016 17:42

Mrs SGrin holding hands isn't that bad.

BTM - hope the extractions went OK and are not too visible.

MI - like the top.

Lalsy - I'm dying for a holiday with just DH and no moany teenagers.

We have had magnificent walking weather today and got right to the top after a very hard climb (I had to pause for a KitKat as my legs were like jelly at one point). Even moaning teenagers appreciated the view from the top though. We might keep Striding Edge for another year though as I'm not convinced I'll have recovered sufficiently tomorrow to do another biggie.

CV your holiday sounds brilliant - we drove through Yosemite - it is incredibly beautiful. I always think photos can not ever quite capture the real thing.

Stropperella · 23/08/2016 17:48

Angels??? GrinGrinGrin aww sweet Grin
That'd be a helluva hangover then, MrsS.

Auriga, I would so love to take you up on your very kind offer. Have pm'd you.

Crem, I would LOVE to come to your party, but there are currently complications... AngrySad

Nothing is straightforward here. I never expect it to be, but I still struggle to ride the roller-coaster with good humour and equanimity. Dd returned from festival yesterday all upbeat. But today, is all "I'm not going to effing university because I'm too effing thick." There is justified anxiety about MH issues being a prob, but no strategy for dealing with any issues arising. Give me strength.

Love to all.
