five if it's not inappropriate Flowers for you too.

Today I finished a salt bath scrub thing and then Bobbi brown eye opening mascara. It was still full of mascara but just dried out and not that bloody old. So I'm down to a Bobbi brown tester and then My mac every day one.

I like a big bold mascara too. Like a full on big eyes all about mascara look. Any suggestions?

FiveShelties · 04/12/2016 15:31

Thanks kwick and Hoo - yes it does suck. Thought I was over it until my friends started to have grandchildren, that hurt a bit. Have come to accept that and really cannot complain as life has been very very kind to me otherwise.

And on a much lighter note. I have just sorted out the shelf at the top of the wardrobe - oh my - I am sure someone is smuggling this stuff in when I am not looking! Grin

FreeButtonBee · 04/12/2016 20:05

Clinique bottom lash mascara finished. I bought this to do the corners and bottom lashes and it's quite good but frankly I never have the time to do that as well as normal mascara. Left makeup bag at dh's office so used this to tidy myself up for a kids party this avvo. T was pretty much dried out so done.

I really liked the Emma hardie balm cleanser. That could be a definitely purchase once I used my current one up. Skin definitely liked it.

FreeButtonBee · 04/12/2016 20:07

Night away was a big success. First time away really since DTs (almost 4) were born. They all slept well and behaved for my parents. And we had a nice night in a hotel and day wandering around the Kings Road and then watching the rugby in the pub. Heaven!

DragonNoodleCake · 04/12/2016 23:13

I like this thread, even if I don't post all that much I try to read! It's probably the most supportive thread I've been on. Ever.
I've been having a tough time at home (you can see from my other posts about DD) and not got much time to use up my lovely products, but I like to read about what you lot are trying/using up. It's chill out time.

I also wanted to say - mascara for me has to be Lancôme hypnose. Love it!

Today I managed to put on a wee bit primer - a smidgen of foundation (both Lancôme), liquid eyeliner in plum (Avon) and hypnose in black!

Got a works day on on Saturday- can't wait to get glam!!

DragonNoodleCake · 04/12/2016 23:14

And nights away are amazing when you can get them. We might get one 22 Jan - got tickets to a gig, we could drive the 80 minutes home but if DD1 is ok then we could just stay!

dogdaydisaster · 05/12/2016 09:41

A couple of empties this morning:

Body Shop Pink graprfruit shower gel- lovely, now onto the mango one.
And a mini of the Omorovizca rejuvanating night cream, which was nice but not mind blowing. That was a feel unique pick and mix mini that I got a week's use from.

kwick · 05/12/2016 14:52

Wow dogday those samples really seem worth it!!! Cannot wait for my package to arrive!!!

Advent calendar is another item with cyclo silicone in it.... Angry oh well, thens the breaks!

FrustratedFrugal · 05/12/2016 15:37

DragonNoodle awwww we love you Wink

Today's DIY advent treat is a sample of Shiseido Advanced Super Revitalizing Cream. I spent the morning with DC in an indoor water park. I will slather this stuff on later today - feeling shriveled and prune like atm.

kwick · 05/12/2016 15:56

The Superdrug I visited yesterday was SOLD OUT of the Garnier Miracle Bomb mask!!!!!! Am going to try elsewhere later on... I finally found something that does the job!!!!!

Love you all too!!! Xmas GrinXmas GrinXmas Grin

FrustratedFrugal · 05/12/2016 17:27

Kwick perhaps you have created a MN buying lemming Wink

MrsDilligaf · 05/12/2016 19:53

Flowers for Kwick and Five
It does indeed suck when you so desperately want children. I'm 43 now and like Five when my contemporaries started having grandchildren (and good god did that make me feel old Confused) it really hit me hard that it might not happen.

It took us a long time but eventually we got lucky (top tip - go and get rip roaring drunk in Turkey, smoke loads of fags and spend a week lying in the sun whilst pondering if it acceptable to have a beer at 11.00 )

As it turns out we are Very Incredibly Lucky and M is 9 months now. Poor little sausage has old gimmers for parents...

I am sporting my no makeup makeup look in this pic (with V fetching daft bobble hat) and I have to say I am quite impressed by how much younger it makes me look - I might ditch the heavy duty stuff and go for a lighter approach.

mrs you look wonderful. M is a lucky bunny (and very cute). Ah the old drunk as a skunk conception advice. My friend who's an gynaecologist recommends it too. Not sure if recommends for ivf though kwick I think you have to be sober in hospital!

five Flowers if not too insincere. I work with many childless, not-through-choicers and it must be tough. I hope you don't have too many thoughtless comments which I know so many receive.

free you lucky bug. Inspires me to get on with organising a night away.
dragon hope yours goes well. Your comments are lovely and glad it helps. This thread helps so much. I have a stupid commute to a stressful job with a DS who is so much better but has a lifetime of meds ahead and I love escaping to beauty world!

Today I finished an aloe Vera toner, sparkly day cream AND a soothing serum. As I finished them I thought "can't wait to tell MN!"

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 05/12/2016 20:13

And mrs to make you feel super youthful, there was a woman in my antenatal class aged 48 pregnant with first child. Looked 50+ too. No one was quite sure what was the back story but she and her DP looked shell shocked most weeks and I've never seen them again! Good on her though right?!?

kwick · 05/12/2016 20:18

Thanks for sharing mrs and you both look lovely!!!
Love the advice but seeing as I am doing this on my lonesome I am not sure it will work Grin I gave up booze over a year ago in an attempt increase chances.

Another I always think about telling MN when I finish a product - it spurs me on even if I am still an incorrigible consumerist

I have just been watching videos on You Tube of Marilyn Monroe make up tutorials... I think this will be a goal for next year to master the eye look - has been a lifetime desire Grin

DragonNoodleCake · 05/12/2016 21:11

Awesome pic Mrs and you do look young!! Who cares how old you are? If you happy and healthy that's the most important thing.

I am a grandmother at 39!!!! He is 5 weeks and gorgeous but I tell you it's tough with a new baby in the house. A 17 year old DD that found out at 32/33 weeks, who is overwhelmed, exhausted, emotionally wrung out and left alone by the boy is not easy. Not when I work full time, have 5yo DD2 and DH works overseas.

One of my friends is older than me and her DS's are 5 and 2. It took her a long time and a few IVF rounds to have the first and the second was a chill out wine filled holiday baby. Now I'm not suggesting this as an option but I've heard it more than once.

I know I am so lucky to have had mine without any heartache. So very very lucky.

So many people say stupid insensitive things, I'm just glad that most of them don't mean it.

I've got a wind filled gripey baby on me right now, once I get free I am planning a quick sort of the laundry and a long hot shower...let's see what nice stuff I can use

DragonNoodleCake · 05/12/2016 21:13

What does the miracle bomb mask do?

I need something special but gentle, I have dry skin but prone to the odd spot too recommendations please!!

FiveShelties · 05/12/2016 22:22

Wow mrs you look amazing. M is just gorgeous, so very pleased for you and love your tips!

Thank you another - someone one said to me 'you must feel less of a woman because you cannot have children' - I won't tell you what my reply was, but I am sure you can guess. I also think immediately of telling MN as I finish something and if tempted to buy think I will have to confess to everyone.

Congratulations on your grandson dragon.

I have used up a QV moisturiser 30ml sample size which I thought was going to be too difficult to rub in when I first opened it, but it just sank into my skin and I would definitely re-purchase. It is free of the usual SLS, colourings, Lanolin etc so could be good for anyone reacting to other moisturisers.

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 05/12/2016 22:47

Dragon what a tough time you must be having! Your poor DD but how lucky she is to have you. 5 weeks! I don't remember anything of that time but guess that's because I was bat crazy with a mixture of worry and sleeplessness.
Hope you have a wonderful crazy xmas with your wee pudding! Filled with lovely products.

DragonNoodleCake · 05/12/2016 23:27

Thanks guys.

Ok so I got a shower! Washed my hair with my usual Redken (went there 4 years ago - never ever went back).

Gave my face a wee treat with a Lancôme hydra intense mask - it's nearly finished, just a few more squeezes.

Need to shave legs but couldn't be bothered as skin so dry.

Cloud nine magical quick dry potion (is almost done and will be re-purchased) redken all soft oil on hair (I have about 3 bottles).

Put away all clean clothes/empty washer/next load on just enough time for hair to mostly dry, quick blow dry!

Then I tried some nspa pomegranate and wild rose body oil (was a gift) it smells sweet and is nice but didn't feel super moisturising so I slapped on neutrogena intense repair on top.

Quick cuppa and check on mn then it's sleep to start all over again at 6.15!
Is it just me or do some days do you feel like a machine?

MrsDilligaf · 06/12/2016 05:58

Oooh redken! I used to love their all soft shampoo and conditioner. Haven't used it for years now.

I can lose hours watching tutorials on you tube. Some of the vloggers are so talented it makes me quite envious.

Thank you for your lovely comments about my M (M a r t h a) and I - makes me feel all glowy inside!

kwick · 06/12/2016 06:40

Dragon congratulations on becoming a Grandmummy!!! Kudos for keeping it all together!!
Garnier Miracle Bomb is highly hydrating - its a sheet mask and there was so much "gunk" on mine I reckon I can get a few uses of it!

Many days feel like a machine dragon I am glad you got your shower Grin

Hmm I am not doing so well on advent - another product today containing a cyclo-silicone.... oh well them's the breaks!!!

FrustratedFrugal · 06/12/2016 07:10

MrsD little M looks lovely, congratulations!

We have lots of female relatives and friends who never had children and they have been a vital part of our family. I've told my aunts that they can consider my children their grandchildren. They have been around a lot and DC love them so much that my mother is a little jealous

Dragon congrats on your grandchild! Sounds tough but I am sure that when you get past the overwhelmed, sleepless stage, both DD and you will feel a lot better. Sending you lots and lots of extra energy! Your evening ritual sounds lovely, but yes I recognize the machinelike feeling.

I am lounging in bed still (a national holiday, no school today) but tomorrow at this hour I will be on autopilot racing from kindergarden to work Wink It will be extra tough as we will travel back home tonight, DC will be late to bed and we will have an empty fridge and a mountain of post-travel laundry...

kwick · 06/12/2016 07:50

May I just say that I could have organised my work trip today to Paris in such a way that I could pop by that super cheap Pharmacy in St Germain but that I have been strong and resisted Grin

MrsDilligaf · 06/12/2016 08:07

Then may I say kwick that I am immensely proud of you!
