WellTidy you have been doing so well. I totally understand your disappointment though. Can you share some of the shower gels with someone in your family? This occurred to me when DD1 had used about half of the figgy one I really like for her bubble bath. (They never touch the meh ones.)

I found a bottle of a discontinued Wella hair conditioner that I really like when I stopped to buy trail mix at a supermarket last night. They had two more bottles. But because they are big 500ml ones, I decided to leave for now. Might go back later but want to try it first.

WellTidy · 15/08/2016 19:39

Frugal thanks for your understanding. I know I sound like a right drama queen, and I am so not in any other aspects of my life. I am going to re-gift the Occitane miniatures to a lovely friend. The recipient won't realise that I am re-gifting and will just be pleased with the unexpected goodies.

Ds1 often helps me out with the body shop shower gels by having them as bubble bath. I draw the line at giving him Molton brown though!

FiveShelties · 15/08/2016 22:52

A lovely new thread - thank you.

I have finished some samples of moisturiser and another M & S Shower Gel. Am now actually having to buy shampoo because I have none left in the stash - am determined not to repurchase enough to last out the next 10 years. I actually quite enjoy buying for use now. Still lots of other items in the stash though, which I am working on very slowly.

kwick · 16/08/2016 08:11

welltidy don't feel bad - You have been working so hard on your stash.

I feel I need to refocus on the 13 by Halloween list again... I have strayed again to all the new make-up products I have bought recently, but I really need to use up the old ones!!!
Also I think I have to have my foundations/bb creams on strict rotation as most seem to trigger spots (perhaps they have gone off?Hmm).

WellTidy · 16/08/2016 10:07

Five well done on getting through your shampoo stash. Its a great feeling to actively choose a new product in a shop without guilt! I too have no shampoo in the stash. I like to have two different shampoos on the go so that I can alternate, keeping one by the bath and one in the shower. I am going to choose a new one for the bath at lunchtime. Just finished Tresemme so will go a bit more upmarket I think now.

Anyone tried the shampoos with argan oil?

Emenem Good work on your holiday miniatures. That must be very satisfying.

Feeling better today, thanks all Flowers

Wow people are doing really well. Unfortunately DS requires a longer stay Sad. In an attempt to keep spirits up, I have another Halloween 13 list. And managed to cross off a few!

welltidy I tried the Organix Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner a while back - but did not really get on with it. Crazy as it seems I switched a couple of weeks ago to a Herbal Essences strawberry & mint set and my hair is loving it!

Well done another!!! Sorry to hear about DS.

Any of you lovely ladies have any tips for getting rid if a under the skin spot... It is really bugging me!

FrustratedFrugal · 16/08/2016 20:40

Pinkie amazing progress!!! Sending warm thoughts to you and your DS .

I've packed minimalistically for a hiking trip, my backpack weighs over 7 kg and that is too much. Took along a couple of samples and minis.

FiveShelties · 16/08/2016 20:40

another - sorry to read about your son.

FrustratedFrugal · 16/08/2016 20:41

Kwick Effaclar AI works for me.

FiveShelties · 16/08/2016 20:44

kwick - would Tea Tree Oil help with the spot? That shampoo you are using sounds lovely.

kwick · 17/08/2016 21:29

Thanks ladies for the suggestions.
frustrated what brand is Effaclar?

I have an empty: Superdrug Naturally Radiant brightening hot cloth cleanser - love this stuff. Will most certainly repurchase I have reduced my stash somewhat....

WellTidy · 17/08/2016 22:45

Another so sorry to hear that your DS is poorly. Sending support and positive vibes.

kwick good progress being made!

I gave more empties. Travel size shampoo and conditioner again, the 50 ml
Simple eye make up remover that was on my 13 by Halloween and a bath bomb. Every little helps!

FreeButtonBee · 18/08/2016 14:07

Finished a serum. I have another one in my stash but am using up a similar but meh one first. It's only 15ml so shouldn't take long.

New haircut is really helping me use up hair products. Which is an excellent result as they have been festering for too long. I am using various different bits every day while I work out the best combo for styling. It's fun!

I managed to resist buying more body lotion. I LOVE origins body soufflés. They are heavenly and really moisturising. But must. Use. Up. Stock. Pile.

kwick · 18/08/2016 19:01

Yep! Used Garnier bb cream for 2 days running - maahoosive spot on forehead. Shall I just chuck out?

FrustratedFrugal · 18/08/2016 19:29

Kwick it's La Roche Posay Effaclar AI. And yes, bin that BB cream. I get spots from some liquid foundations too. Sad

kwick · 18/08/2016 20:10

Thanks frustrated I will pick some up tomorrow :) I broke out on my stashed Loreal detox mask but I need more help! Flipping spot!

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 18/08/2016 20:21

Thank you all for the warm thoughts. They have done the trick as we should be out for weekend pass tomorrow. Hoorah
As a side note, friend arrived with full-size bottles of things to cheer me up (they did) but not helped list! Back to original list tmw when home!

kwick · 18/08/2016 20:27

Great news another about your DS.

have found spot

Fancyasandwichbacon1 · 19/08/2016 00:25

That's great another. Glad things are going well.

I've finished a body scrub that was in a big Christmas gift set but that's my only empty since my last post! Although I am managing to refrain from buying more things which is good!

Ememem84 · 19/08/2016 09:32

back from holidays! will take stock of what i used up and will post later

Ememem84 · 19/08/2016 13:34

below is my list from the other thread of stuff i took on holidays:

Clarins foundation- skin illusion - STAYED IN THE WASHBAG...WAS TOO HOT FOR FOUNDATION
Clarins eye gel x2 (one sample size in hand luggage one full sir half empty in makeup bag) - TRAVEL SIZE USED UP, FULL SIZE ALMOST GONE
Night cream -about a quarter left - STILL A SMIDGE LEFT
Eye balm -about half finished - STILL LOADS LEFT
Body lotion - new but needs using - ABOUT TWO DAYS WORTH LEFT
facial sunscreen - STILL LOADS
Cleanser and a toner - GONE!
Eye make up remover - NOT USED AS USED WIPES...
Simple travel make up wipes - GONE - DIDNT LIKE SO WONT BE RE BUYING
Boots green cucumber wipes - STILL SOME LEFT IN PACK - A STAPLE FOR ME
All of the above are clarins. I will replace.

Shampoo and conditioner tresseme silk travel size. - CONDITIONER HAS BEEN USED UP! SHAMPOO STILL GOING
Full size herbal essences dry shampoo -may ditch this whole away or pass to my sil who will continue travelling. DITCHED. DIDNT LIKE IT...

Naked 2 pallet. Determined to return with one shade panned! - DIDNT EVEN MAKE A DENT IN IT...

I will continue to use the above up now i'm back. While away i also used two milton brown travel size shower gels. and a full atomiser of my perfume. today i have put a new dry shampoo in my basket on the dressing table - a tresseme one. i've used before and quite liked the smell, but have been a fan of batiste for ages so we'll see how this goes.

IPokeBadgers · 19/08/2016 14:43

Didnt know Tresemme did a dry shampoo... let us know what you think when you have used it a few times....last time I experimented with an alternative to batist, it didn't end well...admittedly it was a superdrug own brand but I just didn't think it did anything except make my hair smell like cheap perfume....

Hippywannabe · 19/08/2016 16:11

Managed to get rid of 7 shampoo/conditioner samples on holiday!
Resisted the duty free calling...

WellTidy · 19/08/2016 18:10

Excellent progress being made all round. It's really motivating me to stay focused!

I've used two bath bombs and a travel pack of simple cleansing wipes. Won't replace as they're not staples and were just needing to be used up. Also finished a cath kidston hand cream mini. Definitely not replace as it wasn't that great and my hand cream stash is obscene.
