High five Em!

I won't make a list as I still have a couple of drawers of backup products Blush

kwick · 28/11/2016 19:54

em and frustrated you are both inspirational.
I love the 30 wear rule!!! Does that apply to wedding dressed too? Wink

Great progress mrs!

FrustratedFrugal · 28/11/2016 20:13

You could try to one-up Liz Taylor #9wears Wink

ememem84 · 28/11/2016 20:20

kwick just wear your dress around the house.

HooArghhhEwe · 29/11/2016 03:12

Alright frustrated and em I'm in.

Definitely no purchasing unless the product category is empty. I have stuff that I know will run out so couldn't do a flat out no spend.

kwick · 29/11/2016 07:41

I think I will just go with wearing bridal make-up in Glam Jan seeing as I have no wedding dress and am not likely to have one any time soon!!!

Can you believe that despite at least 8 weeks continual use the No7 cream eyeshadows are STILL going strong????

ememem84 · 29/11/2016 07:44

Can believe it. Am pretty sure I have two unopened in my makeup bag. 😭.

kwick · 29/11/2016 08:00

Just two days before first window on my Beauty Advent calendar can be opened!!!!!!!!!

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 29/11/2016 10:50

Wow em Hoo and frustrated those are such good goals. I really like 30 wear idea.
Can we do it together?
New thread maybe? Just as well my wedding dress is under my mums bed. I just ignore hints to take it back to my house.

I agree with make up but it is just such a lovely pick me up isn't it? We've had a tricky year with my DS sick and make up saw me through! I've also really got into perfume to cheer me up. But I know it's often wasteful to buy another but the joy of a new bright lip can get me going in the morning!
I've finished my dr organic snail cream which I love and so half way through xmas list. Not sure if I can finish rest but will give it a good go!

IPokeBadgers · 29/11/2016 15:36

Have just had a giggle, opened an email from Rituals about the Advent calendar: apparently some of the products have shifted about during transportation and that not all the products are where they are supposed to be. How miffed would I be to open a door on my beauty Advent calendar and find nothing there!!! lol

Those lovely people at Rituals have helpfully advised that:

"it is possible to rearrange the products in correct space without opening up all the doors. To do this, carefully open The Ritual of Advent from the bottom to slide out the inlay and adjust the shifted products to their original position."

Excellent bit of heading off trouble at the pass!

Walked through beauty hall in dept store on my way home. It's freezing here and it was a short cut to the car. Creme de la mer are advertising something as "the essence of caviar" really does not make me want to buy it.

FrustratedFrugal · 29/11/2016 19:08

Imagine slapping that on your face...

ememem84 · 29/11/2016 19:10

It's probably cheaper than caviar. Just maybe make the blinis out of it?? Mmmm

HooArghhhEwe · 29/11/2016 23:25

one of my two favourite moisturisers is by Creme de la mer. Fish egg essence it was not tho. Hmm

Yy Another make up is so lovely as a pick me up. DH and I are off to the US without the DC next year for a conference. I fully intend to spend a lot at Sephora. I know we can get some/most of the products in Aus now but the SA are just so bloody good and I love finding new things.

But apart from that it's one in one out.

ememem84 · 30/11/2016 07:02

hoo I was given some CDLM stuff on an air NZ flight 2 years ago. I got a bit anxious and the lovely hostile guy sat with me for a bit and calmed me down (was sat away from dh). He went off to find us new seats this took about an hour but in he mean time he presented me with the nice free stuff from business. Including creme de la mer moisturisers. Lovely.

FiveShelties · 30/11/2016 08:04

Have been away for four weeks and managed to get through Duty Free with no beauty purchases - failed on the alcohol front though!

Have used up:
L'Oreal Night Cream
2 L'Oral Day Cram Sample Packs
Body Shop Oil Face Lotion Sample
Body Moisturiser
Pack of Face Wipes
M & S Shower Gel
Shampoo
Conditioner

The sad thing is that I do not need to re-purchase any of them. Also sad is that I missed the M & S Beauty Advent Calendar, although that could be a goo thing maybe! Grin

FiveShelties · 30/11/2016 08:05

Apologies for typos - jet lag.

IPokeBadgers · 30/11/2016 10:59

Ok, so not making progress on the make up situation but as previously stated, I have stopped hoarding things like shampoo....to the point of, for only the 2nd time ever, I ran out a couple of nights ago. So bought a bottle each of super cheap shampoo and conditioner from Boots. Mainly because I wanted to remind myself of the teenage experience of using Apple scented shampoo and conditioner....god how I miss The Body Shop of the 1980s and early 1990s....

FreeButtonBee · 30/11/2016 11:04

Just about finished a Hylamide sub q serum. I really like this and think it's probably worth the money. It really hydrates and makes my 11s and nasolabial lines barely noticeable. However, I am going to finish my enormous bottle of Habalado Premium HA lotion first (which is nice but doesn't have the same punch) and possibly another serum before repurchasing. I might try the Ordinary Buffet instead as it's a cheaper version of roughly the same thing. But the chances of me not going back to this are slim! It is really very good.

applesandpears33 · 30/11/2016 11:42

Apple shampoo - now that is a blast from the past. I loved the smell of that. Currently working my way through full size products but I have a few that are almost empty, so should manage another five products by 1st Jan to meet my target. I succumbed though and bought the boots protect and perfect gift pack as it is such good value and I do use their products and will finish everything in the box. Also bought the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour gift set which I will use and the City Lights make up set (which I probably will not use up but which looks very pretty...). I'm secretly hoping DH has bought the M&S advent calendar for me.

dogdaydisaster · 30/11/2016 14:55

fiveshelties - there are loads of M&S calendars in the shops areound here (London suburbs). Just in case you can be tempted....

mowglik · 30/11/2016 16:10

Oo when will the advent calendars go on sale? I'm guessing from the 1st but anyone know if this is the case or is it after Xmas that they go half price?

Re the Korean wash cloth if you look on eBay and search for Korean Italy cloth you should find lots of products. The different colours correspond to different degrees of scrubbiness - I use the mitt in blue which is quite scrubby and it is just fab for preempting flaky skin. It should be £2-4.

I've just finished a Korean serum - secret of red astaxanthin concentrate. Brightens the face lovely but its a bit sticky for me so won't repurchase. It wasn't on my Xmas list but 9/12 done so far Grin

FiveShelties · 30/11/2016 17:22

dogday - I could definitely be tempted! Unfortunately am in Lancashire -- perhaps they are still in stores here ..........................

applesandpears33 · 30/11/2016 17:27

I like the idea of being able to try out lots of samples without having to fork out loads for full size products. But I know I wouldn't use some of the products which would be a bit of a waste.

kwick · 30/11/2016 18:19

Great job five!!!
