Argh sorry mega post with randomness!

applesandpears33 · 24/11/2016 21:11

Another empty - a clinique lipstick. I really like the shade and will repurchase. In fact, I already have another one in the cupboard ready to use. I've now used up five of my ten products to finish before the end of December.

ememem84 · 24/11/2016 21:45

I have no make up wipes.

That's never happened before.

I've had to open a mini travel clarins eye make up remover.

kwick · 25/11/2016 11:24

frustrated what do you mean by a full reveal? Of my Kiko haul?

dogday I have to confess I am jealous of your 20 cleansers stash... Blush would you care to list them out so I can live vicariously through you

Well done em!!! Makeup wipes are the root of all evil - I try now never to buy them as whilst they are a quick and easy fix my skin suffers from not being properly cleansed.

I am finding it SO HARD not to already start with my advent calendar!!!!

ememem84 · 25/11/2016 13:42

kwick I actually like the wipes. I use them to get rid of the majority of the make up then cleanse.

I used the clarins eye make up remover last night and don't feel that I got it all off.

dogdaydisaster · 25/11/2016 14:56

I should give the disclaimer that some of my cleansers are back ups and others are minis, but for kwik, here they are:

Biore charcoal cleanser (not keen, bit slimy, trying to use up)
2 Emma Hardie Moringa sample sizes -like these
NipFab glycolic -unopened
Cleanse and Polish -a staple
Boots oil, No7? - works finePixi mud cleanser - love this
2 Elemis cleansing balm -love this
Elemis cleansing oil -unopened
Caudalie cleansing oil -love
2 Neutrogena eye make up remover (the blue one) -love this
2 bioderma micellar bought in France on hols -love
Garnier Micellar -meh
Elemis micellar -unopened
MV eye make up remover -a free sample. Was surprised that it's an oil, but seems OK
Neutrogena cream cleanser - unopened

dogdaydisaster · 25/11/2016 15:01

I finished a mini today -Kiehls super multi-corrective eye-opening serum. It was only a schet so hard to see if there was a difference, but I liked the feel of this so may repurchase.

FreeButtonBee · 25/11/2016 16:51

Another empty. Benefit they're real mascara. This is my favourite nighttime/special event mascara. DH and I had a day off today and I'd left my basic makeup bag in work so went to use this. And it was all dried up! Nightmare. Can't really justify replacing at the moment as I go out so rarely but will put on my 'like to buy' list for next year when I have some money

kwick · 25/11/2016 17:18

dogday thank you so much - your list sounds great!!! I really want to try the Emma Hardie and the Elemis balms - one day!!!

FrustratedFrugal · 25/11/2016 17:37

Apples congratulations on finishing a lipstick! That's major!
Kwick yes I'd love to hear about your Kiko haul!

kwick · 25/11/2016 17:52

Your wish is my command frustrated
So I got Nourishing Perfection cream compact foundation with spf 20 - easy to apply and quite high coverage
I also got Skin Tone face base in green to cover up my red patches - nice consistency.
And finally a neutral eye base - today's eye look is still going strong
I also got hand & foot mask sachets for my SIL.
TBH I would have gone much wilder if my mum had not been present Hmm

Ashamed of my beauty product hoard - Part 3
FrustratedFrugal · 25/11/2016 18:47

Those look great! Let me know how you are getting on with the eye base. I will need to replace my Urban Decay at some point Wink

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 25/11/2016 21:32

Wow em and apples good work. Finishing a lipstick is epic!

freebutton that is so annoying. I've got a sample of that mascara and love it too but given that I have 6 others about, it will be a while.
So I was raising my eyebrows at so many cleansers and have counted mine. 11. Eek

Elemis balm. Amazing and pretty much finished. Will buy again

Emma hardie. Fab
Cleanse and polish
My little box night cleanser: lovely but could never purchase as subscription box only
Korean oil cleanser
La Roche posay physiological cleanser
Rodan & fields anti redness wash
Tony moly bamboo cleansing water
Ren micellar water ( really quite rubbish for price)
Neals yard coconut cleanser
Cetaphil

Also finally finished a touche eclait. Wow 10 years and now get what the hype is about now I know what to do with it.

Nice haul kwick like look of compact

applesandpears33 · 25/11/2016 21:42

I was thinking about this thread earlier and the small successes I've had since it started (I've had a couple of name changes). I no longer hoard shampoo or conditioner, or deoderant. I do still have far too much makeup, soap, showergel and body lotion. I have also bought some stuff that I probably didn't really need - I'm a work in progress!

kwick · 26/11/2016 08:13

So another what is the trick with Touche Eclat?

FrustratedFrugal · 26/11/2016 08:31

Applesandpears that sounds fantastic! The same here. Since these threads started, I have stopped buying new things (although there have been a couple of mini-splurges Blush) and have started enjoying what I have.

I felt briefly tempted by Black Friday madness yesterday (tempting offers at Zoeva) but resisted.

A cosmetics blogger friend told me that there are just a few factories in the Western world that manufacture make up pencils. I checked, and my Chanel, Urban Decay and Kiko eye and lip pencils were all made in Germany. No wonder they look and feel very similar and are totally interchangeable!

FrustratedFrugal · 26/11/2016 08:40

Just in case someone is interested, here is a blog post on make up pencil manufacturers.

DragonNoodleCake · 26/11/2016 09:10

Can't remember when I finished a lipstick! What is the trick with touche elait?

DragonNoodleCake · 26/11/2016 09:11

Touché Eclat even

DragonNoodleCake · 26/11/2016 09:17

Great blog link frugal!

I always use liquid liners, I have for 23 years and whenever I try a pencil I just can't seem to get it to look nice. What is the trick??

FrustratedFrugal · 26/11/2016 09:29

I'm using less and less pencils to: I'm mostly lining with wet eye shadow and tightlining with a pencil these days. But some of my non-black eye pencils give a subtle lift and hint of color on the upper lidline - that might also work with crepey lids. I'd love to do proper cat eye liner but my eye shape is not great for that. Lipliner is quite useful with gloss, I look more polished as everything stays put. Feeling old.

My final link for today - Kimberly Clark on consumerism. 💖
I wish I'd had a lecturer like her Wink

FrustratedFrugal · 26/11/2016 09:29

Too not to, duh 🙈

dogdaydisaster · 26/11/2016 12:02

For those that are wanting to try new cleansers, you know that Feel a unique do a pick and mix sample subscription. £3.95 for 5 samples a month. That's where the Emma Hardie came from. Also asos do a travel sized elemis balm.

Sorry that's probably totally against the spirit of this thread Grin

kwick · 26/11/2016 15:15

Very interesting frustrated makes me feel so much better about my Catrice and Sephora pencils Grin

dogday thank you - I would much prefer to try some samples before making a mistake on a full size!

kwick · 26/11/2016 15:21

I have realised that I have a very large amount of candles - I have decided to always have one burning whilst home!!!
