I'd do a stock take, but I'd need a day and a spreadsheet to do it!
Why do people insist on buying hand cream?
I'm at work and just thought that my hands were dry....I had a mini soap and glory righteous butter in my laptop bag so result there, I have no idea how or when it got there though.

ememem84 · 22/11/2016 13:29

I've just bought: three new brushes (real techniques -two of which may be for me the other one and maybe a second will be as a gift for dm), a new gel eyeliner nyx epic black a new lip balm and a primer (benefit porefessional). Not sure I needed it.

ememem84 · 22/11/2016 13:30

But I've got £58 of boots points.

FrustratedFrugal · 22/11/2016 15:00

Glam Jan sounds fun - I'll join!

Dogday you're the resident Hand Cream Queen and Cleanser Queen! 👑👑

FrustratedFrugal · 22/11/2016 16:25

I thought I had finished the hand cream at work.
So I bought a new one from Lidl.
I found the old one today, and it is half full

kwick · 22/11/2016 17:21

Have not yet read most recent posts but the shopping centre I am in has a KIKO!!!! Not sure I am strong enough to turn my back!!!

FrustratedFrugal · 22/11/2016 17:52

Oh dear Kwick...

I found my old Max Factor lipsticks and after years of Chanel and Nars, I just have to say that they are seriously good. Max Factor lipstick in Raisin is a near-dupe of Chanel Coco Rouge Légende - except that it looks better, lasts longer and looks just a bit more flattering on. I like it a lot and will add it to my to be used up list because I want to wear it every day!

DragonNoodleCake · 22/11/2016 18:41

What is the rules of the glam Jan??

kwick · 22/11/2016 21:29

I did not even step inside Kiko - but mainly because I was just too tired - need to go back tomorrow so will probably go in then - I still need a new foundation! Will check their ingredients online now and ensure they do not contain nasty silicones.

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 22/11/2016 22:03

Wow kwick respect to you (youth hand gesture optional). I'm currently wearing Kiko universal foundation. It's a bit dry but so many shades and lasts all day.

dragon I hear you. I get so much hand cream as a gift.

dog what a list! I am inspired to list mine. Eek!

MrsDilligaf · 23/11/2016 01:01

Glam Jan Rules:

The first rule is there are no rules Grin although I do like Kwick's suggestion about focusing on make up (post pics etc). We had a Halloween challenge and a christmas challenge but we just kinda made it up as we went along!

I have finished up a sanex shower gel yesterday . I really liked it - lovely clean smell and I miss it already. Am using a Nip & Fab shower gel now, it's not half as nice as the sanex one Sad

I like no rules Glam Jan. It's a dreary time of the year, so let's focus on enjoying makeup and all the lovely things we have accumulated! And yes please do post pics!

I have to confess that I have dipped into my DIY advent calendar Blush

I used a Korean It's Skin Mangowhite cleansing cream sample last night (I felt guilty about ransacking the calendar and replaced it with a randomly picked sample) . Mangowhite had a refreshing and sensual fruity aroma and felt lush (wholly mineral oil based...) and I was worried that it will break me out. There was a tiny whitehead on the bridge of my nose this morning but my skin felt lovely and soft. The sample is really generous so there is enough for a second night cleanse.

Cockblocktopus · 23/11/2016 07:56

Frustrated I forgot to say that the DIY cal looks great.

kwick tubey/tubing mascara has tiny little fibres instead of the traditional "paint" like mascara. It grips like buggery until you get it wet and then it flakes off. It doesn't run in the rain or if you have greasy skin. It does come off without much effort in the shower/washing your face with minimal need for make up remover. It's fab and day to day my mascara of choice.

I like glamjan but as it will be high summer and I'll be in and out the pool everyday it won't be very glam for me Wink

ememem84 · 23/11/2016 08:45

I don't like tubing mascara. I bought some by mistake a couple of years ago. I was stressed at the time with work and sat at home and picked the mascara off. And ended up pulling my lashes out.

Then had to have fake ones put in.

FrustratedFrugal · 23/11/2016 11:25

Ememem I totally understand and ouch that sounds awful. I have deep-set eyes (lashes are in constant contact with eye socket/brow bone) and tubing mascara is the only one that stays put all day. Some of them are super hard to remove (looking at you Sensai 38).

Cockblock lucky you Wink I used to live on the Southern Hemisphere and miss Christmases by the pool... My makeup use goes down to near zero in July-Aug, I need just sunscreen and lipgloss and maybe a touch of color for my cheeks and brows. That's it. You can make us all envious floating about in bikinis and beach caftans Wink

kwick · 23/11/2016 12:54

Thanks cock for explanation Grin

Look what I did...

Mrs I am using a Nip + Fab shower gel at the moment too. Its the pale pink one in a 500ml bottle. I got it in TKMaxx for a bargainous £3, but I am already regretting buying it. I am only about 30ml into it and it already feels bottomless. 500ml of shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion etc is way too much for me. I think to change things up more often.

kwick I like a tubing mascara. I like that it never smudges or runs or flakes. I now use benefit they're real, which some people find a bugger to get off, but it always comes away for me with micellar water. Another tubing mascara that I like is estee lauder doublewear.

ememem84 · 23/11/2016 20:33

I may treat myself in January to new eyelashes. Mine have now all grown back but I loved how fluffy the fake ones were. I also loved that it took 3 hours to do and I lay down and slept.

kwick · 23/11/2016 21:44

em so were the fake lashes applied by someone else? Confused

So I just tried to take off new Kiko foundation with Garnier miscellar water - nope - did not take it all off. That Garnier stuff really is not a favourite of mine!

I have an empty - Aromatherapy Associates nourishing face oil. 3ml.
I am not so keen on the smell but it does hydrate nicely... had hoped to have more empties this trip, never mind!

ememem84 · 24/11/2016 07:35

kwick yes. My beautician did them. Individual lashes. They lasted about 4 months and filled in the gaps in my real ones.

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 24/11/2016 13:17

kwick Kiko currently has buy 3, get 3 free. For presents obviously....

Sorry but felt like sharing would help me resist! I really need nothing in Black Friday. Will that stop me? Time will tell!

welltidy I regret a few mega tkmaxx deals. Massive bottles of just ok shampoo that you use up for the rest of your life!

kwick · 24/11/2016 14:09

Wow em did not know that was possible!

ememem84 · 24/11/2016 14:12

kwick it was great. Expensive but great.

FrustratedFrugal · 24/11/2016 17:21

Kwick I need a full reveal!!!

mowglik · 24/11/2016 17:40

em I had fake lashes put in once, they were supposed to last a few months but within days they were tangled up and I had to pull them off myself taking a good few of my own lashes with them! I think the technician had not a clue what she was doing but she put me off - would love to try them done right!

dogday wow 20 cleansers! You must have some gooduns there Shock. I have 4 which are all my HGs for various reasons.

A few empties/discards: I finished LJH propolis ampoule which I love and will replace.

Threw away soap and glory hocus pocus liquid illuminator that I normally use this time of year as it looks amazing at night but had gone off. Shame as there was at least half left! Will use up my Mac strobe cream then replace with this one

Lacura eye cream - nice but won't replace. Prefer Avon anew as it is a magic potion that prevents eyelid droop (for me anyway!)

I am avoiding the temptation of Black Friday by buying presents and household stuff Wink
