Wow frustrated that looks amazeballs!

Ok!! I will admit it: I do not know what a tubing mascara is!!! Confused

FrustratedFrugal · 20/11/2016 16:38

Well done everyone finishing so many things!

I used a serum sample sachet to prep my face today. Missha Super Aqua Marine Stem Cell Intensive Serum. It was pleasant feeling and smelling, I really liked it, but it is no longer available anywhere near me.

FrustratedFrugal · 20/11/2016 16:40

Cockblock thanks for the info. It's great to know that there is a MAC tubing mascara as well!

MrsDilligaf · 20/11/2016 17:02

Woodhill were they the Dragons Blood ones? I'm using those at the moment and I have to say I'm really impressed with them.

I've decided that I am not going to go for a calendar this year - but I am going to be on it like sonic next year. I've got lots and lots of minis to use up in any case without adding to the stash (I'm feeling virtuous and sad in equal measure about this decision...)

DH and I have sent Baby D off to Granny's for a week so we can crack on with a bit of decorating (I cried when she left...sobbed in fact) and alongside of the re-decoration I'm having a big old de-clutter so we're all clean and tidy for Christmas and I'm going to put 10 products in a box for my Glam Jan challenge (Glamuary? Janorous?)

Right....off to do a bit of glossing!

I like the sound of Glam Jan. I don't think I'd manage ten for Jan though, I'm struggling to use up ten products by the end of next month.

FreeButtonBee · 20/11/2016 20:06

Got one nip&fab pad left to use up. That will go in the morning.

On a tenuously connected note, I darned 2 pairs of gloves and one jumper and sewed buttons on two shirts. Feeling very virtuous! I Just need to get some fine green wool to darn DH's j. Crew merino jumper. We have anawful moth problem and have had to resort to storing stuff in sealable plastic bags with heavy duty repellent 🙄

Back to beauty. I've almost finished my swell shampoo. I will use up another old bottle of shampoo which isn't as good but I will persevere and be good.

Nip and fab in an orange and white tub

ememem84 · 20/11/2016 21:54

I have 7 to use up by Christmas. I'm not sure how that'll go.

Just to prove I did it. Here's the urban decay pallet. It's the smallest of "pans" but it's there.

I do have a spare of this particular shade. As it's a great base. But for now am just using it as an everyday shade. With oodles of coloured eyeliner.

Major kudos to Ememem! I know how long that takes.

I am going to use this baby up (old Max Factor blusher in English Rose)!

I had a small epiphany re eye makeup, I've always started building up from light shades, but saw a youtube video tutorial (maybe suggested by someone here?!) that started from the darkest shade (using it as a wash), then added lighter shades on top. It works! Great for using up those darker shades that never get worn.

WellTidy · 21/11/2016 13:20

This is my monthly check in! I'm ploughing through my 12 by Christmas, and have finished my sachet stash. After realising that hair oil and my fine lank hair do not get on, I've chucked all hair oil sachets and am just using my Nuxe hair, face and body oil on my legs. So no more sachets left, and lots to focus on.

There seems to have been a lot of pan hitting whilst I've been away! Good work all on that and the advent calendar creation/resisting.

I'm also tacking the travel size (50? ml) Occitane shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body moisturisers that I picked up from our holiday last summer, and making good progress on those. but to counter that, I brought home Molton Brown miniatures from a hotel stay at the weekend, so have set myself back a little.

Keep the faith.

MrsDilligaf · 21/11/2016 13:55

Welltidy

I am sure that there is a law or something about posh hotel toiletries...you leave the gilchrist and soames ones but you have to take anything posher than them.

Grin MrsDilligaf! I brought home some Cowshed bits from a very posh hotel that I stayed at with work, and I've yet to top that.

MrsDilligaf · 21/11/2016 17:05

I'd have smacked you in the chops if you left cowshed stuff...that would have been plain rude! Grin

applesandpears33 · 21/11/2016 18:03

I leave no toiletries - it is probably one of the reasons why I have so much stuff.

ememem84 · 21/11/2016 18:48

I have a special jar in my bathroom for stolen hotel toiletries.

kwick · 21/11/2016 19:15

I work for a hotel company and travel all the time - but I have a rule now that all get taken for my SIL who uses them at the gym. My fav ones are Bulgari and Asprey (Purple Water).

frustrated who were you watching on YouTube?

applesandpears33 · 21/11/2016 19:23

I've another empty - Burts Bees almond milk hand lotion. This was a small jar that came in a gift set but was really nice. I'll repurchase it once I've used up the five or six handcreams that are in the cupboard.

DragonNoodleCake · 21/11/2016 19:44

How have I never come across these threads before?? I'm a cosmetic addict Blush now I just want to read and read to see what you all have that I could get!!

FrustratedFrugal · 21/11/2016 20:14

Welcome DragonNoodleCake!

Of course you'll nick fancy hotel toiletries. Some of my faves include big This Works bottles and Aveda everything. We've started using AirBnB more and more and the downside is that they often just provide dull full size products from the local supermarket. thank god for my stash

Kwick I cannot find that smokey eye video any more but the idea is simple: start with the darkest shade and add pale/metallic/light reflecting stuff on top. Use a primer: I forgot and looked like a raccoon Wink

I've used another sample - Missha Immortal Youth Cream on my neck. It smelled very mature. I'm expecting miracles Wink

FreeButtonBee · 21/11/2016 20:25

Oooh, am starting in a hotel next Friday and it has a REN spa so expecting big things from the in room toiletries!

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 21/11/2016 20:35

Hi dragon I too am a hotel smellies pincher. Off next week for work trip but hope to finish a few things rather than stock up again!
I've finished La Roche Posay effaclar duo. Love it so will prob repurchase.
I love idea of Jan glam especially as sounds like drag queen!
I'm also making a gift bag for a friends DD who has just been diagnosed with quite severe dyslexia and who I'm trying to encourage to become next jo Malone. So all my not-sure samples are heading her way!

ememem84 · 22/11/2016 07:35

pinkie great idea for using them up!

kwick · 22/11/2016 09:05

Welcome dragon!!! You are in good company Grin

I like idea of Jan Glam too - maybe rather than have a set number - perhaps we can just promise to wear a full face of makeup each day from skincare-primer-foundation-concealer-highlighter-contouring-blush-full eye-full lip- etc- the whole shebang??? And post the pictures?

DragonNoodleCake · 22/11/2016 10:32

I love hotel stash!! I often travel for work so I do have a plastic box full.
2015 I got to fly home from India in BA first and the bag of mini goodies was great!!!

I need a primer in my life...that's where I'm going wrong with the smokey eye!!

I have £109 in boots points, that says it all doesn't it.....maybe I should use some for primer Grin

dogdaydisaster · 22/11/2016 11:04

Glam Jan sounds fun.

Just a couple of minis/samples for me this week. I got a Sanctaury salt scrub sachet in a magazine, and used that straight away. It was nice but messy, and I always feel like loads of it gets wasted. I also finished a Sanctuary facial scrub, which I used on my feet. I dont really use scrubs much but it was fine.

I did a tally of what I've got and still some way to go. I have:
10 hand creams (none of which I bought myself Grin)
6 body lotions
9 shower gels
3 night creams
5 day creams
8 serums
9 refreshing/sparay toners
7 acid toners and 20 cleansers!!

I am not doing that for my make up stash!!
