"My name is kwick and it has been 3 days and 1 hour since I last bought a beauty product" I say whilst lugging home ginormous beauty advent calendar that arrived today!!!!

frustrated pictures please!!!

Perhaps in the new year we can have an amnesty and give excess we really do not want to a woman's shelter? Grin

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 16/11/2016 18:15

Excellent work another!!! Maybe I can convince my 11 yr old nephew to have a "make over"? Grin

MrsDilligaf · 16/11/2016 18:59

Kwick that's a great idea. I will gladly do that.

In similar vein I will be doing my monthly food bank donation later on this week and wanted to ask if any of you would be prepared to stick a few bits in the box next time you are in the supermarket.

Aside from food I donate the following every couple of months:
Toothbrushes
Toothpaste
Deodorant
Soap
Shampoo
Conditioner
Sanitary towels
Tampons

It's something I've done for a while particularly since I spoke to the lady from the food bank who told me about a lady who couldn't afford sanitary towels, and was going to public toilets and using loo roll instead of sanitary towels because she could afford loo roll either. I sobbed for most of the afternoon because even when I was on the bones of my arse I could always afford san pro.

I'm wavering over these bloody advent calendars.... I will have a look when I'm getting Baby Dilligaf off to sleep!

And one bites the dust! Sample of ren beauty shot serum. I don't particularly love it but have loads from a visit to space NK (the one way down the kings road towards worlds end are VERY generous with the samples- much better than the Sloane Square end one) so decided to use as a primer for post work in the loos make up. Seems to work quite well for that as the silicone made my foundation go on quite nicely. I'll hopefully get rid of another one in the same way between now and Christmas.

kwick · 16/11/2016 19:47

Would love to join your food bank drive mrs! May be more practical if I give to my local one?

Great advice free I wonder if the Space NK nr Oxford Street is generous - I decided not to get Hourglass foundation on line for this very reason...

So on another completely selfish note:

Oh definitely give to your local bank Grin

I'm heading off up the wooden hill shortly to investigate these advent calendars...I suspect the old credit card is in for a bashing Confused

Um mrs what is the wooden hill? Hmm

kwick · 17/11/2016 07:15

I have another empty here!
Bobbi Brown creamy concealer and loose powder - together in one little pot. Did not like the concealer much... the colour of the powder (pale yellow) is not quite right. Another off ny 12 by Christmas list!!!!

FrustratedFrugal · 17/11/2016 16:59

I took a snapshot of my eye makeup but honestly it looks so lame - light was dim and my eyes are pretty hooded and I've been through a rainstorm so you can't see anything.

Here's another thing that I have learned about eye makeup - what feels very dramatic going on is quite subtle in reality! But it did feel slightly decadent to have metallic eyelids post school run on a rainy Thursday morning.

And that's what makeup is all about - feeling good Wink

I have major news - the lipstick you see in the picture, Max Factor Sunbronze, is finally gone. It's one of those brownish 1990s colors that are making a comeback, extremely effortless to wear, and I must have it for 8 or 9 years. It used to be my favorite shade, so I think I have a backup tube (plus its sister shades Chilli and Raisin). The quality of the lipstick is really nice, it's effortless to wear. It is slightly drier on lips than my lush Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet and Kiko lipsticks but still pretty longlasting and very comfortable to wear.

11/12 Xmas items gone!

Kwick shelters around here don't accept cosmetics but I'll make a donation.

MrsDilligaf I'll need an update on the results of your expedition! Wink

MrsDilligaf · 17/11/2016 20:39

Lol! Up the wooden hill means going upstairs. I was heading off to bed last night Grin

"Up the Wooden Hill and off the Bedfordshire" = going to bed. I expect you all to employ that phrase asap.

I'm browsing advent calendars right now so will pop back with an update shortly xxx

Good god! I've left it late, they are going for silly money on ebay but there's a Tanya Burr one in superdrug for £12.00.

M & S have sold out on line so I might have to whip into town tomorrow...I also like the look of the Body Shop one....decisions decisions Smile

Did you do it mrs??? The suspenders are killing me!!!!

ememem84 · 18/11/2016 08:04

ANNOUnCEMENT!

I have hit the pan on urban decay naked 2 eyeshadow. It's the tiniest bit of silver peeping out from the nudist of nude shades. But it's there. --and it's only taken 5months.

FrustratedFrugal · 18/11/2016 08:12

Congrats Ememem! That is super impressive!

woodhill · 18/11/2016 08:49

3 empties this week - NO7 eye make up remover, Aussie shampoo in travel bottle lurking from Summer and Elizabeth Arden facial scrub.

New dressing table coming so I need to clear, the drawers out of my old one. Lots of sachets in there.

ememem84 · 18/11/2016 08:51

frustrated im so happy. I reckon I can finish it by the end of the year and move onto a new shade.

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 18/11/2016 10:10

Nice work em but wow those babies last!
I finally have a few empties.
A room spray/perfume in a too strong rose that is finally done.
A colab dry shampoo that is not as good as batiste
A bath and body works autumn candle. Lovely but ready for xmas ones.

dogdaydisaster · 18/11/2016 10:16

Morning all

A few more empties here. MAking way for the advent calenders (plural -I bought one, dh bought me one, and then I won one! DD is having the asos one, and we will share that and the look fantastic one depending on whats in each window).

I finished a Liz Earle skin repair moisturiser. I didn't love this, it had a funky scent and was very ordinary. I think elemis marine cream is my holy grail day moisturiser and nothing seems as nice.

From my 12 for Christmas - the bare minerals skinlongevity vital power infusion serum, which was a big sample size from the first qvc tili box. really liked this and may repurchase one day.

Also finished the Wet and Wild primer that I picked up in the US this spring. Nothing special at all. I have a Nars one to use now and then a couple of becca sample sizes to go. Not found one I love yet.

And lastly I have finished the Caudalie lemon shower gel. I love Caudalie products and thi was a lovely shower gel, but the packaging is pants. Got it in France in the summer for 4 euro so a good deal compared to what they cost here, but very annyoing tubes! Using a body shop pink grapefruit now.

So only one left on my Christmas list.

I was playing with makeup this week and took a photo to possibly post here -eek those fine lines look really noticeable when I go close in! Any good eye cream recommendations? Grin
