Ha ha I love "threefa" I'm adding that to my vocabulary.

Well done Badgers for resisting the LG TSV. I have Balance and Glow on today instead of Balance and Brighten...didn't notice the difference until I got in the car and I'm really glowing Confused! Not sure if I like it.

I haven't forgotten about posting my smoky eye look - I will do it this weekend (am looking forward to having a play.

Just one empty to report - L'Oreal Elvive hair serum. I do like this but it was an emergency purchase on holiday 18 months ago but I am switching over to cruelty free products where at all possible. I haven't got anything in the stash so can anyone recommend a hair serum? I also need a heat protection product - had my hair cut short a couple of weeks ago and I have now got to use my straighteners!

I think my LE C&P is almost done and I've got one (possibly two) applications of Pro-collagen marine cream left and I'll be half way through my list!

Please help me resist - I've been looking at beauty advent calendars. I must not buy, I must not buy...

kwick · 10/11/2016 17:45

Great progress ladies!!!

I have no empties to report today. I am actually going to revisit my 12 for Christmas list and make sure it is:

  • achievable
  • really containing products I want to use up
AnotherPinkiePieStory · 11/11/2016 07:47

apples I wish I could help but I succumbed to m&s while buying uniform. Eek. Now have 3 Confused
Good grief so well done everyone else and pinkie to naughty step.
But I did finish a rodan & fields toner and big plans for 12 by xmas which is currently pretty poor. Will be covering body in all manner of lotions for next 6 weeks!

kwick · 11/11/2016 08:06

i have an empty - only two weeks after best before date Hmm:
Lush Love Lettuce fresh face mask - I felt this was more of a scrub than a mask - okay but so many more masks to explore (including in my stash) before I buy a new one

So what are our thoughts about the list after 12 by Christmas? I feel 40 by Easter might be too much - nice to have shorter milestones... any ideas?

FrustratedFrugal · 11/11/2016 08:16

Apples I am joining you in an effort to resist beauty advent calendars. I seriously considered the Aldi one and then researched a few other options and felt really, really tempted...

But I still have a couple of drawers full of hoarded cosmetics, a big stack of samples, and a good amount of mini products. So I want to resist and focus on decluttering and using up.

Don't feel bad if you already bought a beauty advent calendar. They are lovely and tempting. But I'm Not Gonna Buy one this year Wink

The eye shadow inspo pic extravaganza over last weekend means that I've come up with two new looks - a pale pink and bitter brown barely there day look at I can do when I'm in a hurry and a liner-heavy smoky sea green look that feels more done and dressed up. These two will help me to finish my nearly gone Chanel Eclosion quad and get me started with the Chanel Murano quad. I'll use the two in November and then decide what I will do in December Wink

FreeButtonBee · 11/11/2016 09:30

Aromatheraphy Associates Destress Shower Gel - loved this. Might buy more in the post Christmas sales.

FreeButtonBee · 11/11/2016 09:40

Maybe I will make myself a DIY beauty calendar!

kwick · 11/11/2016 09:51

I was going to buy the Look Fantastic advent calendar but it sold out... I keep on seeing it on ebay but for double the original price. I nearly got the M&S one yesterday but there are some products that I have already tried (and not loved) so I think I am going to give a miss... if I find one though that I like the look of and is not too expensive I may still succumb...

woodhill · 11/11/2016 19:39

I finished a Lancôme full size face mask today, excellent product.

I was sooo tempted buy the M&S advent calendar and to buy some things in M&S but I stayed strong and went to buy stuff in Wilkos.

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 11/11/2016 20:10

Thanks guys. I was doing well too but know that will be overrun with mini samples soon. And off through airport with lovely jo Malone concession and have me eye on something too! Arghhhh

applesandpears33 · 12/11/2016 09:28

Oh good. The M&S calendar has now sold out. Problem solved.

applesandpears33 · 12/11/2016 11:42

Another empty - hand made bar of soap that was made by a small artisan producer (I don't want to name it as it would be quite identifying). The soap was lovely but I must still have enough soap and shower gel to last me a couple of years, despite buying literally no soap or shower gel all year. I went through a phase of buying shower gels from the Body Shop every time they had a 40% off discount so they are all lovely, there are just quite a few of them!

kwick · 12/11/2016 14:47

Indeed. Problem solved apples Grin

So I have this awful habit of keeping the boxes of products until I finish them: what is THAT about???? Anyhoo I decided to break said habit and whilst I was clearing I found an oval Lush tin which had two bars inside - called "Relax". I think one was a bath melt, the other a bath fizzy thing - anyway I popped both in bath I just had... not sure if that was right but they are at least 3 years old so good to use up.

ememem84 · 12/11/2016 15:52

Oooh apples I still do that. I like the body shop shower gels. And body butters and have probably enough to last a lifetime. But will always buy when they are on special offer.

I have 3 pink grapefruit body butters to use. They were reduced to £5 each. And I think are usually £15. But I love them.

bunnybleu · 12/11/2016 16:28

Long time lurker jumping in to say to MrsD that the Liz Earle hair oil is cruelty free and amazing stuff! I've repurchased over and over (one of the few products I'm loyal too!). My hair is shoulder length and one pump is enough so it lasts ages. Doesn't make my hair greasy at all and says it helps reduce drying time which I'm inclined to agree with.

FreeButtonBee · 12/11/2016 16:30

Found a body shop rose shower gel in the spare room ensuite bathroom so going to tackle that next. It's almost full so will see me through to spring I reckon. Then I can use my lovely lkorres basil lemon which I like for spring/summer. Not sure if I have any more shower gel lurking. Might do a mini tidy up tomorrow night.

Off out for a rare night tonight with 2 of my brothers. Braving trendy Brixton market so can go a but crazy on the makeup for a change rather my more usual boring haunts.

kwick · 13/11/2016 11:16

Welcome bunny!!! And great tip!!!

I do not think this picture does this justice - green coming from 3 different sources - I am rather pleased with myself getting so bored of having to use up No7 eyeshadows that are everlasting, maybe I take weekends off for now?

FrustratedFrugal · 13/11/2016 20:19

It looks great Kwick!

I have finished a 500ml bottle of Bioderma Sensibio micellar water. My favorite cleanser, I have a few backups, will continue using it daily.

10/12 from the Christmas list gone!

kwick · 13/11/2016 20:19

kwick hangs head in shame...she may have just bought Look Fantastic advent calender on ebay

kwick · 13/11/2016 20:21

Well done frustrated!

FreeButtonBee · 13/11/2016 20:38

Binned a nail varnish. It had a rubbish consistency going on - showed every ridge and dent and the second coat was too claggy. Can't remember where it can from - it was a mini size by cheeky in a neon pink. Quite like the colour but I have gazillions to work through!

woodhill · 13/11/2016 20:41

Just bought the M&S A C. I am having surgery before Christmas so this will lift my spirits. I bought Christmas gifts.

youredeadtomesteven · 13/11/2016 21:09

Used up 2 more products, can't remember how many I've got left to use up. (I'm thinking 4?)

I've got 1 500ml Lush Snow Fairy left so I've popped a No7 bath soak in the shower to use as a gel. That'll clear it from the shelf in the bathroom Smile

FreeButtonBee · 13/11/2016 21:14

On a roll! Finished my last aromatherapy associates bath oil - deep relax. Had to to it up with some other bath oil - a lavender senspa one (was a fairly cheap Ocado order purchase) not mad about it but will get me through to next year and then I will buy a lovely one. I have my eye on the lola's apothecary metholy one but it's £35!!
