FiveShelties I am so sorry Sad - no words, just a big warm hug...

FrustratedFrugal · 02/11/2016 16:47

Badgers your situation sounds a bit similar to mine. My work is often really stressful and we also went through a round of layoffs this year. As a result, I have a bigger share of tedious administrative duties and I've worked overtime a lot. Shopping is my knee-jerk response to stress and negative emotions. I am also trying to find other stress-relieving strategies, so if you find things that work, please let me know!

FrustratedFrugal · 02/11/2016 17:22

To get back to our main topic, I also love the red cap Bioderma and am about to finish another big bottle. My skin is finicky (lovely things: breakout and rosacea prone) but Bioderma never irritates.

We got a lot of snow and below zero temoeratures today! Traffic is perilous and I am hopic that my skin does not go haywire - time to start using Eucerin 5% urea cream. Hair and nails feel brittle, my hair was trimmed last night and I might sleep with gloves on.

FiveShelties · 02/11/2016 18:08

Thank you so much for your kindness, it is much appreciated. He had 84 years of very good health and then 2 bad years, not many people enjoy that.

kwick · 02/11/2016 18:44

badgers really sorry about work situation - sounds nasty and complex. I understand joy and relief beauty retail therapy brings... much better than eating through stress (I put on 2.5lbs since my last SW weigh in a month ago).

free I have only ever used the red bottle bioderma... wonder what the others are like? Hmm the Garnier one is NOT a good dupe!!!

Fanks for well needed hug mrs

SNOW??? frustrated where are you???

IPokeBadgers · 03/11/2016 09:06

Well to cheer me up I have opened an Elemis cleansing balm from the stash (well, opened a big one and decanted some of it into a smaller empty pot: I don't like having the big pot sitting in the bathroom) so I am enjoying using that in the shower/bath. It is lovely to put it on face, then lie back in bath with a warm facecloth over my face, breathing in the balm feels sort of spa-like (if I use my imagination!)

Also opened a Liz Earle moisturiser...I think now the weather is turning and the central heating is going on I need to pay more attention to using moisturiser, skin starting to feel a bit wintry and dried out.

Really enjoying using both of these products: don't know if it is because they are better quality than other products or just that I am a victim of hype and advertising and I have attached meaning to them! lol

FrustratedFrugal · 03/11/2016 17:31

Enjoy Badgers!

It's winter here. Quite a bit of snow! If you fly a couple of hours northeast, you'll get here!

Pretty wiped out. Have been very busy at work. Bad hair day, need a rest and a bath.

ememem84 · 03/11/2016 18:31

Two empties today!!!! And both from my list!!!! Yaaaaaaassssss

  • clarins hand cream (replaced on my desk with elezabeth arden 8 hour stuff)
  • rimmel black felt tip eyeliner.
dogdaydisaster · 04/11/2016 11:59

I'm calling time on the clinique mild exfoliating lotion. I'm not convinced it's not behind my current crappy skin, as it's the only new thing (well old but reusing) in my routine. There's not much left but I'm not risking it.

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 04/11/2016 16:50

Bin bin bin dogday. I've also binned a crappy Kiko foundation that made me look so wrinkly yet spotty and red which you'll agree is not the best look.
Also finished neals yard epic moisturiser, salicylic acid face wash and Rodin & fields soothe moisturiser. Feels good and bathroom shelf can be seen. Except badgers has just reminded me of 2 old faves so getting those next.
Nice work ememem.

Shitty day here. Any more hugs available?

woodhill · 04/11/2016 16:55

2 empties here too, a soap and glory scrub which was dds and a simple toner, Lancôme face mask nearly gone.

FrustratedFrugal · 04/11/2016 17:00

I'll give you a hug (((Pinkie))).
It's weekend - hope everything will feel better!

I woke up at 4.30 and had a predictably hard time getting to work and through the day but in the afternoon lots of great things happened.
I'm overworked and dog tired but love my colleagues.

And very nearly done with one of my lipsticks!

ememem84 · 04/11/2016 17:23

pinkie hugs for you. A shocker of a day here. Sympathise but it's now the weekend!!

kwick · 04/11/2016 17:24

I too am hugging you (((((pinkie)))))!!!

Such amazeballs progress!! I feel inspired to go home and use a ton of product!!!!
How unsafe is it use an out of date Lush mask? Confused
You know I am sooooo sick of using the same 2 everlasting eyeshadows day in day out, I may take off my makeup and use some other stuff when I get in for fun!!!

FrustratedFrugal · 04/11/2016 17:36

Do something outrageous Kwick!

Some style inspiration here!

Thanks guys. [feel warm inside]

Is this too much kwick. Perhaps too subtle?

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 04/11/2016 18:14

I once scraped mould off a lush mask and used it. Disgusting yes, my microbiology lecturers will be turning in their Petri dishes.

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 04/11/2016 18:19

Following frustrateds lead, Maybe this says just enough while leaving them wanting more?

kwick · 04/11/2016 18:26

LOL!!! I am still trying to perfect a smokey eye so these are all a little advanced for me!!!! The effort of getting home and getting dinner on has rather taken away my energy... rather than take off and start again I may just go over the top....

P1nkP0ppy · 04/11/2016 18:33

May I slink in?
I finally dragged out my beauty stash from drawers and under the bed and it's even worse than I'd suspected ☹️
I've put a large bag for life of unopened stuff in the car to take to a local woman's shelter and chucked out makeup (used & unused) some of which is 10+ years old.
The rest is now sorted and I reckon I have no need to buy shower gel, hand cream, face stuff, deodorant, shampoo or makeup for the rest of my life 10 years 😱😡😖

I also sorted out my clothes and have more than 30 new pairs of tights I'll never wear now I'm retired

No hope for me here!

Evvy543 · 04/11/2016 20:57

Wow it's so good to know I am not the only one who is addicted/obsessed with beauty products!
I can't stop buying makeup and skincare and hair care.
Really need some tips on how to use what I already have as I am running out of space to store it all.
I am happy that I've used up the following so far:

Alberto balsam sun kissed raspberry shampoo and conditioner.
Alberto balsam coconut and lychee shampoo and conditioner.
Tree hut tropical mango body scrub.
Tree hut coconut lime body scrub.
Soap and glory clean girls body wash.
Soap and glory foamas body wash.
Soap and glory the breakfast scrub.
Imperial leather calming bath cream.
Superdrug shea butter and bamboo body wash.
Johnsons baby lotion.
Clean and clear dual action moisturiser.
Rimmel stay matte powder.
Bourjois healthy balance powder.
Clean and clear exfoliating daily wash.
Palmers cocoa butter.
3 packs of johnsons face wipes.

ememem84 · 04/11/2016 21:51

I almost caved today and bought myself something. But in the end didn't. Well I did but it wasn't for me.

Dm has been bought a naked basics palette for Christmas.

kwick · 05/11/2016 05:54

GrinGrinGrin and welcome new people!

Yes - everyone who feel stuck in a rut with a few tasteful neutral eye shadow shades - let's play!
Find some lash glue and glitter and that rainbow palette or the hoarded retro shades from the back of your stash. Then have a glass of wine and post your pic Wink

Oh, and the Kimberly Clark Holiday 2016 Anti-Haul Video is just out!
I wish she'd do a Not Gonna Buy video on beauty advent calenders. Grin
