Amazeballs dogday!!! Well done!

Welcome cock!!! Teehee just realised how that sounds!!!
What ones do you own and which ones would you recommend - I am seeking a new foundation.

What cuties frustrated!!! Halloween Smile

Jesus frustrated!!! That is a whole lot of foundation!!!!
I cannot say anything though having reviewed my make-up case yesterday and calculated that if I wear full face of make-up everyday for the next 10 years I still will not be done....

MrsDilligaf · 31/10/2016 19:44

I bought some Nip and Fab Dragons Blood pads.

And then I discovered Kiko. I'm going to resist going in there for quite some time but oh my goodness it was pretty so I bought an eye shadow

BUT today I was at Bicester Village. I didn't buy anything for myself from L'Occitane or Molton Brown or the Estee Lauder shop AND I didn't come home from my weekend drink fest with any hotel toiletries (although I did nick a load of posh teabags....)

frustrated I hadn't even included BB creams or powders! Shock I've found my people. Grin

kwick I have Tom Ford traceless foundation, both the Bobbi brown and hourglass foundation sticks, a random mac one and the Lancôme cushion foundation. Best for every day is the Lancôme cushion foundation. Best for full face is Tom Ford.

kwick · 01/11/2016 07:44

Thanks cock I tried the Lancome cushion one but felt the Loreal one was better (and cheaper). I was going to get the Hourglass vanish next but may try the Tom Ford one seeing as you rate it.

FiveShelties · 01/11/2016 10:37

Well done everyone, I also have been aazed at just how much stuff I have got through (and how much I stll have left). I thought I had all the stash sorted, but when we had to sort the stuff out for shipping I found things all over the house! Today I have finished a sample of BB Cream - lasted quite a while but a little too pale for me and I have sprayed the last from an M & S Florentyna Perfume. I like the Florentyna as evidenced by another three lurking.

Many thanks for the comments re cleaning stuff, I also have lots of scented candles which have to be used up as unable to ship in the container.

IPokeBadgers · 01/11/2016 14:37

Well done to those making good progress and welcome to the newbies!

I can proudly say that for the first time EVER I have finished an eye liner pencil! It was a Boots Stay Perfect one and I easily have another dozen liners of various sorts in the stash...mostly Urban Decay ones from a couple of gift sets. But I use liner every day now so will just keep trucking with them. I am also one use away from finishing a Superdrug Vit E Micellar water (ok product but wont repurchase) and also working on a Garnier miracle sleeping cream which I will finish by Christmas (probably wont repurchase it either.

On a not so positive note, October was a really fecking rough month for me. Rougher than a smacked badgers arse really. Work stress has been absolutely enormous and spilling over badly into homelife. Combined with some painful anniversaries that come around at end of October and I went buck daft with the retail therapy to try to distract/make myself feel better. I am scared to look at bank balance/credit cards.....

In truth, I have essentially undone much of my good work of the last year: in past month I have bought a QVC Liz Earle TSV (still working through the last one, but I only ever buy LE as part of special offers); binged on Molton Brown shower gels (with 20% off) and also ended up with another bottle of Pleasures and the Christmas Estee Lauder make up kit from Boots. What an idiot I am....but there is no way I am returning any of it!

To be fair, some of the Molton Brown stuff will probably go out of the house as Christmas presents: most of my friends are mummies and cant afford treat things like ridiculously overpriced shower gels so at least 3-4 bottles will go that way. Plus my father's partner is a tricky one to buy for so she will probably get some Molton Brown for Christmas as well. So really, I didn't do too badly, I didn't binge, I strategically shopped for Christmas Grin

FrustratedFrugal · 01/11/2016 16:57

IPokeBadgers very sorry to hear that you have had such a stressful month! Sad Don't feel too bad, there are a lot of more harmful things you could have done, at least you'll smell nice and look really pretty! I do understand your frustration though... But you'll be able to enjoy your great new products. (I love that Molton Brown product that used to be called ABC something and is now called something else - magical mood lifting properties!)

October was pretty bad for me too. Three trips abroad + a gruelling 60-hr work week last week (if it helps at all, I succumbed too - I bought more clothes than I should have, plus some Korres and Joik body products and some makeup) - but it's over, I'm still alive, and things will get better!

FrustratedFrugal · 01/11/2016 17:02

Molton Brown Vitalising AB+C is now called Orange & Bergamot - so save that one for yourself Wink I think they make absolutely delightful gifts!

FrustratedFrugal · 01/11/2016 17:05

Kwick & Cock I am trying to use up a couple of my foundations... A few others should simply be binned - acne inducing, too drying, or the wrong shade.

youredeadtomesteven · 01/11/2016 17:08

The Micellar cleansing water and perfume spray are no more, and I have a few (IIRC 4 items) needing to be used up by the end of the year.

ememem84 · 01/11/2016 18:53

I am so close to using up the Elizabeth Arden lip balm

kwick · 01/11/2016 19:07

ipokebadgers really sorry that october is a tough month and that work has been so hard Flowers don't be too hard on yourself... you could have binged on hard drugs or alcohol - beauty products is much better in comparison Wink

frustrated I was watching a video on YouTube by Glam Life Guru, Tati. She is asking her subscribers to donate to local women's shelters - maybe you can donate your unwanted foundation to your local one?

I made the mistake of looking in the mirror this afternoon: not only did I notice hair in unwanted places but my foundation looked pants and my mascara had smudged... they both have to go - but when will they bloody end?????

kwick · 01/11/2016 21:30

I have an empty...very sad to report that I have finished a bottle of Bioderma sensibio miscellar water... Sad I love this stuff but am going to stay away and continue my search for a cheaper alternative (already have a huge bottle of the Garnier one on the go that was a gift).

MotherofPearl · 01/11/2016 22:31

Badgers, sorry October was such a tough month for you. Don't feel guilty about a few splurges. As others have said upthread, these products we love are all about joy, and it sounds like you needed some joy.

I have an empty, a lovely blue glass jar of Elizabeth Arden Good Night's Sleep night cream. Love the smell of it so will repurchase at some point. Meanwhile I have other nightcreams in the stash to use.

Sorry to briefly derail, but can anyone recommend an effective dark spot corrector. I've been using the No 7 Lift & Luminate one for 2 months but not sure if it's made any difference. Any tips gratefully received - I thought you lot would surely be the best to ask! Grin

FiveShelties · 01/11/2016 23:13

Hope November is a good month for everyone, I lost my Dad on October 15th so looking forward to a better end to the year.

I have been 'researching' Advent Calendars and have decided to wait and see what is around in the sales --- really hoping that I will have lots of willpower by then!

Have packed up for holiday and included lots of samples and stuff half finished so should have lots of empties soon. Just have to resist Duty Free now.

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 01/11/2016 23:38

Waving at cockblock. Totally among friends. I have 9 foundations on go. What???!! I have 1 face although many bags in a car, work, by front door, gym bag so really should not listen to lovely chat about hourglass one. I will not be tempted.
frugal your girls are lovely. I had a ghost and darth vadar so could not even use up product on them!
Ipoke we missed you. I hope things are getting better. I always overspend when stressed but gifts sound lovely and at least it's not anything harder! Go easy on yourself

Cockblocktopus · 02/11/2016 05:42

Love that I've spotted a few perfumistas on this thread. Grin

In hospital with wheezy dc3. My emergency bag is stuffed with samples so today used/finished a L'occitaine precious serum sample (meh) and discovered the Sunday Riley flora oil sample I received last year has turned to weird jelly so both done.

kwick · 02/11/2016 07:31

Today is going to be a great day!!
THREE empties

  • Chanel perfection lumiere long wear flawless fluid make-up 32 beige rose - thank God this is done! Do not like smell nor how it looks
-Clinique superbalanced silk makeup (sachet) 08 silk canvas - went on better than the Chanel but the wrobg colour
  • Body Shop super volume mascara travel size
kwick · 02/11/2016 07:48

I am really sorry for your loss five Flowers

cock hope your DC is well soon Flowers

IPokeBadgers · 02/11/2016 08:55

So sorry for your loss Five - losing a parent is one of the hardest things to go through I think. Cock hope the wheezy child is on the mend.

Thanks for the words of support girls, You speak the truth, there are much worse things I could be doing to distract myself from the stress and sad memories. I think this weekend I will allocate the shower gels that I am going to give away as presents and that way I can tick a lot of folks off my Christmas shopping off - and it will make me feel less guilty

I need to find better coping strategies: the work situation isn't going to improve any time soon and I haven't had much joy looking for something else. It is a situation going badly for a close colleague but if it goes totally tits up I will suffer greatly as collateral damage (I have already been significantly affected). If nothing else, I can't keep buying stuff: I literally have no room for more!!! Blush

FreeButtonBee · 02/11/2016 09:49

I have a chanel aqualumiere foundation that refuses to end. I've had it forever. It's okay but there are cheaper light coverage foundations and BB around these days and I need something slightly warmer in tone for full coverage nights out.

kwick I've never found one better than the bioderma. I like the one in the red bottle. It's perfect for when you CBA to do a full cleanse or just need to freshen up in the afternoon before putting some make up on. Let us know if you find a good dupe

MrsDilligaf · 02/11/2016 09:49

Big hugs to five so sorry to hear about your dad.

Hugs also to Badgers

In fact everyone can have a hug from me and the little 'un. Sometimes you just need one.

(((Hug)))

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 02/11/2016 11:37

five missed your post. So sorry. Flowers extra hugs all round I reckon. Work and commute crummy too ipoke so hoping nice smellies can pick us all up!

dogdaydisaster · 02/11/2016 11:42

five, sorry for your loss. I remeber feeling completely adrift after losing my dad, fo about a year after he died.

badgers, hoping November is better for you.

My face is feeling the change in the weather and I've ben feeling really exhausted. We have had 4 weekends away since mid September, so that's not helped. I hvae been battling a huge breakout on my chin, which at 45 I thought I was done with. I went back to basics as far as skincare went and used only very old favourites, and I think that's helping. Really need to have a run of early nights and healthy food as the weekends away were all boozy and foody. Lovely, but I can really feel the effects.

Unfortunetely my lack of beauty spending seems to have resulted in a spate of book shopping {blush]
