I am the same apples I love make-up... I was just eyeing up an Urban Decay pallette in duty free... I already have tge W7 dupe and loads of other unused pallettes... when will I learn???

I still have 3 items from my 13 for Halloween - 2 No7 cream eyeshadows and a mini Body Shop mascara... seriously been wearing them EVERY day for the last month (if not more) and they keep on going!!!!

Well done dog!!!

MrsDilligaf · 28/10/2016 22:10

I confess...I caved!

I had a mini splurge BUT I am going to a Halloween Fancy dress party and had to purchase particularly spooky make up. I was very good and checked my current stock but (and I can't quite believe this...) I didn't have a suitable Eyeshadow pallette so bought a Miss Sporty one. Then I decided I needed a vampy lipstick...and then a pale pale base.

One of my friends gave me a sample of Estee Lauder Double Wear in the palest shade they do. Frankly it looks ghastly but that's exactly what I wanted!

Added to that stash with a garnier micellar water cleanser to get rid of the hideous make up and a pair of ridiculous false eyelashes.

Oh and a Claire's Accessories pallette just for good measure full of halloween-y shades.

I think I deserve a pat on the back though for not going for the Clarins or Clinique bonus time offers though, previously I would have been like a fly round a honey pot for those offers Clinique offers are all a bit samey at the minute

Good work mrs. Resisting is as good as using up in my book!
I've finished a terrible gold eye crayon from Pixi. Won't rebuy. Also found another washbag full of half used minis so am adding to xmas use up list. Arghhh. And lip balms. So many. And got to find a use for heavy duty facial scrub that DS bought me as a gift from lush Hmm. I can't be trusted in there as love so much.

woodhill · 29/10/2016 09:37

I love my Clarins gift set and already using eyeliner but I have made headway with so much else so it balances out:)

It is so tempting to buy beauty products

kwick · 29/10/2016 10:46

mrs and another well done, good progress!!

A sad day came, earlier this week when I used up my last Nivea in-shower mousturise sachet which my Fairy God Mother gave me - love this stuff and so handy when travelling Grin

Ok confession time: I had a little splurge in Lush just now - REALLY sad news the Honey Bee bathbomb has been discontinued Sad I am going to see if I can still get online.
Then I went to Space NK and got them to find the right Hourglass vanish foundation colour for me (Shell). It is out of stock but now I know and will see how face wears today and then get online - in the hope I finish my seemingly everlasting Chanel one soon.
Also yesterday in the airport I bought a La Roche Posay balm for irritated skin - used it last night and it really helped calm down the itchiness. Going home now to have a bath and smother myself in it.

FrustratedFrugal · 29/10/2016 11:55

Mini splurges keep this thread going Wink
Enjoy your lovely new stuff - sometimes simple things like a new moisturizer or lipstick make the entire day a bit more special.

I've now completely used up three of the four shades of my Chanel eye quad. I've hit pan on the fourth shade (dark brown) too but finishing it will take some time. (I have started doing lots of darker eye looks, great for Halloween...) It takes about a year of daily use, perhaps a little more. While I am working on finishing the last shade, I am busy thinking which eye palette should be my next project. A deep dark season appropriate one? A spring palette that has already been used quite a bit? Neutral browns? A simple gold and purple duo?

FrustratedFrugal · 29/10/2016 11:58

Duh, sloppy writing and thinking. Finishing a Chanel eye quad takes about a year of daily use. I hope the one I am working on will be gone by the end of this year.

ememem84 · 29/10/2016 14:02

Once I finish the naked pallet I am then the MAC one I have I'm buying a Chanel one.

Love how they look.

ememem84 · 29/10/2016 14:03

Also great work everyone. I haven't had an empty for a while now Sad

FreeButtonBee · 29/10/2016 14:18

Finished a sanctuary deluxe travel body creme. Was quite nice but wouldn't repurchase as a bit too scented. On to some utilitarian rice tin body lotion. Bought for DD's eczema but it didn't suit and stupidly bought loads on a boots 3 for 2. So that'll take about 3 months to use up. 🙄 I might add some essential oils or something to make it slightly more tempting

Also used 2 Korean sheet masks. Still about 20 to go.

FrustratedFrugal · 29/10/2016 17:49

Look what my brother just gave me! (He has been to Vegas and knows how much I love hotel toiletries!) GrinGrinGrin

FrustratedFrugal · 29/10/2016 17:51

Sorry, the photo is rubbish quality, but it's Trump shampoo, hair conditioner and showe cap Grin

ememem84 · 29/10/2016 17:57

frustrated don't use it!!! You might go orange.

ememem84 · 29/10/2016 17:57

Or might fart a lot

kwick · 29/10/2016 21:16

frustrated great progress!!! Um but if it takes a year to use up one shadow ....kwick furiously tries to do mental arthimetic... I will be 155 years old before I use up all my shadows and I still want to buy more

FiveShelties · 29/10/2016 21:49

Almost finished my No 7 Face Cream and realised all new ones are in storage container waiting to be shipped. So I spent the huge sum of £1 on a small pot of Astral. Never used it before, but seen lots of recommendations for it. Also on the last sprays of hair spray, which I hardly ever use so has been lurking for ages - have another so no need to repurchase for at least a year, or longer!

mowglik · 30/10/2016 09:38

ememem Grin or start grabbing people by the frontals

I had another 4 to finish for my Halloween 13, so far I've finished
Biore perfect UV face milk (already have more of these)
Aldi serums from advent calendar to day 14
DHC deep cleansing oil (have another in wings love this cleanser)

Just the cetaphil cleanser now come on 1 more day to go!

I can't imagine finishing an eyeshadow I use them so infrequently and lightly (and yet have so so many Blush). The only one I've hit pan on is a MAC sushi flower eyeshadow that I used a lot for blush, it's such a sweet coral pink I may dig it out for my Xmas 12, and it be the first eyeshadow I've ever finished

kwick · 30/10/2016 10:43

I can report two empties:
Loreal Elvive clay rebalancing shampoo and conditioner - I do like these but have herbal essences to try next and then I think I want to try something more "natural" with less chemicals etc

Happy sunday!!!

FiveShelties · 30/10/2016 12:45

Happy Sunday to you kwick and to all posters.

I have finished a Boots No 7 Beautiful Skin Sumptuous Bath Milk (modest name), and I did like it. I do prefer lots of bubbles so prefer foam to milk - [probably not good on the chemical front though. Also scrapped the last little bit out from a Nivea Face Mask.

Not wanting to de-rail the thread, but I also have lots of house cleaning stuff as well - do other posters on here? I wondered if the two normally go together?? Smile

FrustratedFrugal · 30/10/2016 13:03

We have quite a lot of house cleaning stuff. Blush

No further progress here. I am mostly working on full size products now and after finishing a ton in the past month or so, I expect a long quiet period. But I am really enjoying my makeup collection. I feel a big proportion of it is getting the love and attention it deserves, and there is enough variety - when I get bored, I rotate products, and I feel I have really learned what suits me.

Kwick I also have enough eye shadow for the next decade But I have learned how to use it properly during this project and enjoy wearing it. A warning: the euro version of Chanel eye shadow is not the easiest to work with, pigmentation is variable and I like to use the liner shade wet. A good brush that picks up a decent amount is essential. But I love their color combinations and they never look garish.

Does anyone own any Nars Dual Intensity eye shadows? I have a palette of them, I've tried them a few times, but I find them difficult to work with. Would appreciate any tips...

Really impressive progress everyone - well done!

kwick · 30/10/2016 13:17

Second to buying beauty products for me, is buying cleaning products Blush but I have decided to shift to only eco-friendly ones in the future. However there is a fairly substantial stock pile of the normal kind Shock

frustrated where should we buy the chanel eyeshadow? In the US?

MyNightWithMaud · 30/10/2016 13:22

I haven't posted on these threads before, but you inspired me some time ago to tidy out the bathroom cupboard and my dressing table. Having now realised quite how vast my stash was/is, I have bought nothing apart from deodorant and toothpaste this year. I'm feeling virtuous and wealthy!

FrustratedFrugal · 30/10/2016 13:24

Yes, the US Chanel e/s looks different - euro formula on the left side and US on the right side. The US formula is easier to work with and has better pigmentation payoff than the round button euro formula.

woodhill · 30/10/2016 14:02

Kwik I'm the same so trying to use those too. I end up using fairy liquid in the kitchen mostly on worktops rather than kitchen cleaner etc.

applesandpears33 · 30/10/2016 14:04

Yes, we have a lot of cleaning products. I keep on meaning to have a clear out of those too. Make up has become a bit of a treat spend, I've been trying (and failing) to lose weight so haven't wanted to buy sweets or clothes, so have bought make up. I've also bought a lot of face care stuff to try as I am fed up with facial eczema and don't want to be reliant on hydrocortisone every day.
