Kwick and frugal the aldi calendar is sold out online but they had quite a few in store last Friday (sorry to enable!). But the brilliant thing is they are mainly serums and the instructions are to use half of the vial in the morning and half in the evening so it will all be used up rather than sitting around on your shelves for the next year - win win for those of us that like to buy but not hoard 👍🏼

Hi all,

Ok everyone's Halloween list has me inspired to prioritise using up stuff that has almost finished so my list of 13 is:

Cetaphil cleanser
Miss Flower and Mr Honey face cream
DHC deep cleansing oil
Molton Brown ylang-ylang body wash
Espa pink hair and scalp mud
Imperial leather Mauritian spa body wash
Essence ultime omega repair shampoo
Madara Time miracle cellular repair serum
Simple moisturising hand wash
Cosrx galactomyces essence
Molton Brown Coco and sandalwood body lotion
Body shop Japanese camellia body cream
Aldi calendar serums to day 14

Finished the cosrx essence couple of days ago so 1 down, 12 to go!

kwick · 13/10/2016 19:27

I have an empty here:
Loccitane relaxing pillow mist 1.5ml - ok but I prefer pure lavender oil - this was a hotel freebie

MotherofPearl · 13/10/2016 20:00

Some inspiring tales of empties here people! I've been plodding along and have finished an Elizabeth Arden 8 hour tinted lip balm. Trouble is I had another in The Stash to immediately replace it, as it's a regular buy for me.
All this talk of Advent Calendars is difficult to resist! I peeked at the Clarins one online and felt a surge of lust! Have stayed strong for now...

FiveShelties · 13/10/2016 22:09

Finished an M & S Body Spray called Butterfly, which I really liked. I think there is another one somewhere so no need to repurchase. Also gone is a Gliss Liquid Silk Shampoo - really cheap and I would repurchase.

I am also lusting after Advent Calendars, even though I could probably make myself around ten with all the bits and pieces! Not as much fun though.

kwick · 15/10/2016 19:50

OMG look at my amazing haul - ALL FREE!!!!

This may not be in the spirit of the thread but Direct Cosmetics has Korres fig shower gel, which is gorgeous,, BOGOF @ £5.99.... www.directcosmetics.com/shop/brand/korres

kwick · 16/10/2016 00:41

I have an empty!!
Clinique moisture surge overnight mask travel size - meh! Had better night creams now have lovely samples to replace! Grin

MrsDilligaf · 16/10/2016 03:57

Impressive haul Kwick Grin

I was at a pamper event on Friday night and got a goodie bag full of samples. I was very good though and shared it with my friend. It had 4 La Roche Posay samples which is something I have been meaning to try and now I can!!

Shesgotelectricboobs · 16/10/2016 08:51

The threads fallen off threads I'm on. So I'm just marking and will update later.

kwick · 16/10/2016 10:00

No sharing this end mrs! They are all mine!!!

I am going to be passing through a dangerous Duty Free later on... I need to stay strong!!!!

woodhill · 16/10/2016 12:07

I've used up a pro-voke mini size shampoo today and may see if I can send ds off with a conditioner which is not suitable for my hair.

So much easier when you start to be methodical with using things and stop buying more. Really good thread.

Stopping the beauty box was my best move.

Shesgotelectricboobs · 16/10/2016 12:43

I'm methodically trying to his pan on my naked 2 pallet. Using the lightest shade first.

And am trying to stick to a skincare routine.

I've been through my make up and have ditched a lot of stuff I just won't use. (Blue glitter eyeliner bought for a fancy dress party...)

IPokeBadgers · 17/10/2016 08:47

Hey all!

I can confirm that I have succumbed to an Advent Calendar: the Rituals one....looking forward to it!

Another empty: a Body Shop Camomile Eye Make-Up Remover....I have no idea how old this was, but definitely OLD! There may be another one floating around somewhere. And I am sooooo close to finishing (for the first time ever) a pencil eyeliner.....

dogdaydisaster · 17/10/2016 10:24

Hello all

Just back from a weekend away and a few more empties tor eport.
Elemis shower cream - nice enough but really the supermarket ones are just as nice
Bioderma mini micellar water -this was just enough for 2 days so perfect for a weekend away
Lancome night serum sachet - nice and luxurious feeling.
I also binned a Kiko lip pen thingy -likea felt tip lip stain. couldn't get used to it at all.

However I have come home with three White Company quite big minis from the weekend, so I've more or less broken even Grin. Am away weekend after next and am hopeful that the last of my minis and samples will be done.

I'm nearly through an elemis cleanser -I remember someone in the previous thread having a never ending elemis cleanser? Well I can completely understand now!

I also have my 12 for Christmas list ready....

dogdaydisaster · 17/10/2016 11:11

Heres my Christmas list:

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 17/10/2016 19:58

Nice work dogday and oooooooh to ambient lighting palette. Always wanted one. Do you recommend it?
ipoke where did you get your rituals calendar? They were sold out when I checked. I think I need one!

FrustratedFrugal · 17/10/2016 21:06

Shesgotelectricboobs your Project Naked 2 sounds fab! I am nearly there with a Chanel quad and finishing it will be the most satisfying thing ever!

A few products (6/12!) are gone.

Finished Nip+Fab glycolic pads, can only use those during the dark part of the year as they are strong sun sensitizers. My skin likes acid pads in moderation so will rebuy and use occasionally.

And I've finished another tube of Biore Watery Essence spf 50. My favorite facial sunscreen. I wore it during my hikes in Greece and never burned. I use it daily from Feb/March to October (I am in the far North). Have already reordered a 2-pack from Japan.

That Korres price is really good

Oh, and the Dove blue Fig shower gel smells cheap and nasty, like a toilet bowl cleaner - do not buy, false economy!

Shesgotelectricboobs · 17/10/2016 21:34

frustrated oh I hate the dove fig stuff. I was convinced other people could smell it on me.

I'm looking forward to finishing naked 2 in about a million years I want to say I'm about halfway down one shade. But am probably not. Sigh. It's going to be super satisfying when it's finished though. I'll have to buy another!!!!

I'm using a sure deodorant at present. It's light blue crystal one. I hate hate the smell. But it's the only one I have.

Using up a tresseme dry shampoo. It's good. But it makes my hair feel crunchy. Batiste doesn't do this.

By trying to use up and also save money I've been trying different brands. Have established for dry shampoo it has to be batiste.

kwick · 17/10/2016 21:39

Well done all - amazeballs progress!!!

My itchiness has returned with a vengenance this evening (has never really gone away) - has GP appointment Friday pm to see if they can help - will insist on dermatologist referral if not.

All this pallete talk has reminded me I have about 7 different palletes... nine nowhere near done. I get so much joy out of buying them...
Still have 2 No7 cream eyeshadows and a Body Shop mascara left to complete my 13 by Halloween - I have wirn the every day for the last 3 weeks and they still keep going!!!

IPokeBadgers · 18/10/2016 09:49

AnotherPinkiePieStory - afraid I was one of the saddos who had signed up for notification when the Rituals calendar went on sale - so I bought it almost as soon as I got the email about it! I'm not sure they were even going to put them into the stores, think that one might have only been available online.

dogdaydisaster · 18/10/2016 16:57

I have a love of palettes too. Even so, I'm eyeing the beautiful new bobbi brown nudes one...

MrsDilligaf · 18/10/2016 17:30

Dogday that was mee Grin the never ending Elemis cleanser. I was going to resort to using it to clean the bath!

I have an empty to report - Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. I do love this and if I do repurchase in future it will be after I've compare it against the Superdrug one.

OP posts:
MotherofPearl · 18/10/2016 18:22

Good efforts all round on empties!
I'm going away for a week on Friday and have been saving a travel size L'Occitane shower cream and matching body lotion. I'm hopeful they'll be the perfect size to last a week. Looking forward to getting stuck in!

kwick · 18/10/2016 19:59

So some of my sample haul contains horrid fertility impacting silicone so cannot use Sad others cannot be used if preggers so I had better shake a leg and use them fast as I restart treatment again in a tick. Hmmm maybe take with me on my trip this week...

mrs I did not really rate the original liz earle c&p but quite like the limited edition lavender one I am using now. HOWEVER I think the superdrug ones are great and loads cheaper - there are 2 I would recommend:

  • Naturally radiant hot cloth cleanser
  • Vitamin E hot cloth cleanser
Shesgotelectricboobs · 18/10/2016 20:08

No empties to report here. I have a ton of no 7 vouchers from boots. Tempted to buy some more mascara. It's not a waste if it's something I'll use later right? And if it's £3 off.....
