Forgot to post my new list - here it is!

Ashamed of my beauty product hoard - Part 3
kwick · 09/10/2016 18:45

I have another empty!!! One of my 12 for Christmas - will swap out as this was too easy.

  • Superdrug Naturally Radiant glycolic overnight peel - will not repurchase, too watery

May have had a slight blow-out at Superdrug - with good intentions: went to get my mum some replacement cleanser... ended up getting savlon (for spots) & a Christmas gift set of travel size shower gels and the like (I know I will use these).

Also going to stay with a friend at the weekend and got her a Lush gift set and may have chucked in 2 bath bombs for me Blush

I have 2 empties:

  • Herbal Essence daily clean shampoo and conditioner (white strawberry and mint) I may have finished the conditioner a few days ago but held onto for reporting purposes nice for the summer months, even though I am not too keen on fragrance
IPokeBadgers · 10/10/2016 12:19

Well done to everyone on the empties. I have one: a No 7 Eye make up remover....it's the bright blue one that I think is oil-based and meant for taking off waterproof mascara. It's quite good and I might repurchase in future after I get though a few other products.

I am also quite excited that the No 7 eye pencil is nearly done....this will be a first for me when it is finished!

dogdaydisaster · 10/10/2016 12:46

I've been away then sick but have been busy using things up in my absence.

I used a couple of sachets of moisturiser when I was away, a bioderma night cream and a caudalie day cream. both lovely, they were thrown into my bag as freebies when I hada pharmacy splurge in France this summer.

Liz Earle body lotion -I ended up binning this a few days before it was gone as it was driving me mad. I really didn't like this; it had a horrible scent and didn't sink in at all.

Caudalie shower gel in 'the des vignes' scent. Lovely; this was on a 3 for 2 in the aforemetioned french pharmacy.

Elemis shampoo mini -nothing special.

Bourjois velvet liquid lipstick in Nude-ist - liked this, it was a good basic pinky nude, but I have loads more so not repurchasing. It was perhaps a little on the dry side but had good staying power.

So my 13 for Halloween looks like this:

Still to use up:
Bare minerals lipstick (think I may have lost this)
Body shop camomile cleanser
Talika day cream
Rodial facial oil

Finished:
Liz Earle body lotion
RM DNA renewal eye cream
Tarte mascara
Philosophy shower gel
REN retinol night cream
Bourjois pink liquid lipstick
Elemis apricot toner
Light blue perfume
Tata Harper mini rejuvenating serum

I am very close to finishing the remaining bits. Apart from the lipstick which I can't find, and may not look too hard for Grin

kwick · 10/10/2016 19:29

Wow you have been busy dog! Well done!

FiveShelties · 10/10/2016 20:56

You are all doing really well.

Away for a couple for days and took a few samples with me - out went two face creams, an Aveeno Shampoo which I really liked and an Aveeno body moisturiser. Hotel did not have cosmetics to bring home so brought nothing home --- for once.

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 10/10/2016 22:15

Nice work dog and you're on fire kwick. I need to get on using stuff up before xmas advent calendars start! Eek. Elemis or rituals?

dogdaydisaster · 11/10/2016 09:53

More empties here this morning.

My Body Shop camomile cleanser is finished. I love this and will repurchase but not until my elemis balm in the giant tub is gone.

I also used an elemis shower gel mini, had a nice scent but nothing amazing.

Five shelties, I suppose we should be pleased when we don't get any miniatures Grin

So three to go. I won't finish the lippy, which I found yesterday and am going to put it back into my stash. it's too bright a pink for this time of year so I'll leave it for now. I'm adding an elemis micellar water travel size to use before Halloween.

kwick · 11/10/2016 21:03

I think I may treat myself to a beauty advent calendar this year

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 11/10/2016 21:24

Yay kwick let me corrupt you! Halo
Although I'm tempted to choose things I've actually looked and said no to rather than random selection. Maybe make my own?

WellTidy · 11/10/2016 23:08

Hi all,

I left you at the end of the second thread and started work on my 13 by Halloween. So it's been ages since I caught up with you! Progress has been steady, as I listed mainly full size products. I think I am nine or ten down, with three or four to go. I am super pleased. The bathroom cupboard is looking much emptier and I feel so much better. I'd been getting down about not being able to choose as freely as I'd like, so now that I've made an impact in my stash, I am feeling more positive.

Of my 13 by Halloween, I think I have about 75 ml of a 250ml rituals body cream, a nearly full fake tan (let's face it, I am not going to bother to get through that in October), Estée Lauder advanced night repair serum and the remnants of a blusher to go.

Brilliant work everyone on their stashes. I bought some nip and tuck on the bargain shelf in tk max last week, £11 for full size body wash, body scrub and body moisturiser. Can't wait to start using them (I like a set). Need to finish off what I have on the go and then some miniatures first.

Nice to catch up with everyone's progress.

usernameinfinito · 12/10/2016 00:31

kwick · 12/10/2016 07:30

Ooooooh another how DARING to make your own!!!!

Good work welltidy!!!!

Wow user!!!! Amazeballs!

I am very proud to say I "hit pan" on my Bobby Brown concealer this morning. Still loads left round the sides but with a bit if perserverance think I will get there by Christmas! It has a powder underneath which I forget to use so need to be more diligent there.

I have one empty this morning - again from Christmas list but will swap as again I think I figured it would take me loads longer to finish: a mouth wash that is alcohol free.

mowglik · 12/10/2016 09:28

Hi all, haven't been here for ages. 13 for Halloween sounds great but I've only got a few due to finish in the next few weeks

I've been good though and generally avoided buying new skincare, though I couldn't resist the aldi beauty calender! Due to finish that in 28 days though so it's not too bad Grin

I've recently finished a
couple of molton brown mini shower gels from a set I had,
Clinique turnaround mask - will repurchase, always see a difference in clarity when I use this
Cosrx galactomyces essence - love this, this and vit C serum has really given my skin a glow will repurchase
Sanex 24hr shower gel - need to repurchase as it helps my dry scaly skin

A little tip to prevent spending on lots of new cosmetics/skincare while working down your stash - buy samples if you can find them. I bought a sample of becca shimmering skin perfector on eBay and decided it wasn't for me. Got a new product fix and avoided spending loads on a product that didn't work out so would recommend trying this! Also get samples for makeup from counters before buying if poss

dogdaydisaster · 12/10/2016 10:51

They are like buses -another empty here. I finished the Rodial Stem Cell super food facial oil. I did like this but it was a very expensive Space NK splurge from over a year ago and I'm not sure I can justify the price. I'll see in the new year if my face looks like its suffering.

So now my list looks like this:

Still to use up:
elemis micellar water
Talika day cream

Finished:
Liz Earle body lotion
RM DNA renewal eye cream
Tarte mascara
Philosophy shower gel
REN retinol night cream
Bourjois pink liquid lipstick
Elemis apricot toner
Light blue perfume
Tata Harper mini rejuvenating serum
Body shop camomile cleanser
Rodial facial oil

Almost done, so I am busy compiling my 12 by Christmas list.

mowlik, I recently discovered perfume sample sellers, and have been enjoying trying a few new ones that way.

crookedhooker · 12/10/2016 14:30

Bloom and Blossom Shower Gel Mini
Balance Me Face Mask Mini
Soap and Glory Body Butter
Max Factor Foundation

woodhill · 12/10/2016 17:27

Finished Clinique eye cream and toner plus Garnier hand cream
ragdale hall foot cream so pleased.

FrustratedFrugal · 12/10/2016 19:47

Two products gone - first, a full-size Palmolive Fig shower gel. We loved its sweet thick smell and DDs liked it in their bubble baths. Discontinued product, I'd hoard it but haven't seen it anywhere. Korres Fig and a cheap bottle of Dove Fig shower gel are replacing it - Korres has a sophisticated green fig vibe.

I also used up a bottle of SB12 mouthwash. Nice and alcohol free but quite pricey, Listerine Zero does the job just as well.

This means I've used up 4/12 products from my Christmas list!

Ashamed of my beauty product hoard - Part 3
FrustratedFrugal · 12/10/2016 19:49

Ooh Aldi beauty calendar
I can resist expensive stuff but this

FrustratedFrugal · 12/10/2016 19:58

And congrats everyone, you are on fire!!!
Username you are relly blazing through your stash Wink
Here's some WineCakeFlowersChocolate for everyone, let's have a party!

Just imagine what would happen if we were let loose in a Sephora/SpaceNK/Boots/CVS/Kiko...

kwick · 12/10/2016 20:52

Nice to see you mow wow loads of empties! Well done. Great advice on samples - when I have my act together which is like once in a blue moon I do this too!

The Lush stuff I bought arrived today and the smell has been a nice company this afternoon in my office Smile however I just had a bath with one of the two bath bombs I got for moi (the rest was a gift) and I did not like the smell much... go figure Hmm

Well done ladies - amazeballs work!!

frustrated for palmolive - have you tried ebay? I have often found long lost "friends" there.

Do Aldi sell online?????? There is not one near me and I need want an advent calendar!!!!

frustrated WE ARE HELPING THE ECONOMY!!!! That is what I tell myself anyway Grin

dogdaydisaster · 13/10/2016 12:32

The Talika Photo Hydra dat moisturiser is dine. this came in a free gift I think, it was a nice light day cream which had a bit of a gel feel.

Just one to go.....

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 13/10/2016 14:30

kwick a beauty advent calendar is a basic beauty human right. There's so much choice!
