Thanks mrs

Failure - topcashback and the bodyshop screwed me today. Offered free postage if over £25 and 7.35%cashback.

Shower gels (which will be used) , a felt tip eyeliner (needed as mine is on its last legs) and a bottle green eyeliner pencil (pretty).

Oops.

MrsDilligaf · 05/10/2016 19:29

Yes but you're poorly!! And we all know that green counteracts red so in fact what you have done is make yourself look better so you feel better sooner.

Ah logic! Tis a wonderful thing Smile

(And it was my birthday on Sunday)

And I'm so hopped up on lemsip I really shouldn't have been left alone. So really it's dh's fault.

kwick · 05/10/2016 19:46

I have an empty!!!
I am really proud of myself as I have been using this lipstick EVERY day to try and get it done - it must be 10 years old if not longer
Not really sure of the brand - bought it at a "party" thing - colour Phenomenal. Nice colour but not very long lasting.

I have a mahoosive spot emerging on my cheek - it is either:
A. The Liz Earle tonic I started this morning
B. The Garnier miscellar water - which I am not a fan of but have with me on my travels
C. A reaction to using concealer (which is at least 7 years old) as a foundation
D. Hormones
E. something else
Angry

kwick · 06/10/2016 06:09

I have another empty!

  • The Body Shop camomile cleansing butter - I really like this stuff and will moat likely repurchase in time, but for now I will repurpose the tin with coconut oil, which is also a great cleanser.
MrsDilligaf · 06/10/2016 06:31

Joins kwick in the zit club - I've got a spot on the side of my nose...

It looks like Biscuit ...it's paper bag time.

I've got Five giant spots.do I win. And they're all sort of in a line.

And I've got to go back to work today. Sigh.

Leaving them alone and not putting make up on would help. However cannot leave them to their own devices at work. Will have to cover.

Shesgotelectricboobs · 06/10/2016 08:16

Just finished an atomiser of perfume. Need to refil.

Never thought to do this before but makes way more sense. Means I don't have to carry around a gigantic bottle with me. And I feel it gets used up quicker.

Shesgotelectricboobs · 06/10/2016 17:18

Also finished a clarins hand cream. A 30ml one.

Have another in my desk for using up.

FrustratedFrugal · 06/10/2016 19:06

Zits here too - on my chin, three in a perfect line. That ouchy throbby type that goes on and on. I blame Nars Creamy Concealer.

Travelling, tomorrow there will be empties.

kwick · 07/10/2016 07:26

I managed to difuse spot situation by applying a Stridex pad.

It's a miracle!!! Have finished neverending Avon Anew age transforming concealer is an empty!!! Not a great concealer, not a great foundation Wink

But she how do you refill the atomiser? Hmm

Well done all on the empties!!!

Shesgotelectricboobs · 07/10/2016 07:39

kwick I wondered this for ages and a colleague had to tell me.

You undo atomiser and the. Just spray perfume into the bottle. (Unless perfume bottle can come apart for pouring - mine isn't that fancy. But I know that dms miss Dior has a funnel for decanting).

Shesgotelectricboobs · 07/10/2016 07:40

Have also managed to diffuse spot situation here. Whacked a load of savlon on them last night. This morning all dried out and less bumpy. #healing

kwick · 07/10/2016 21:47

But she doesn't the perfume go everywhere? Hmm I clearly need picture instructions...

Great work she on the spot (I find perfume works on those too)... never thought about using savlon but that is such a good idea!

So pleased about 13 for Halloween thing as it made me use up my Lavender oil which has helped me sleep better - I now have replaced with in date oil - so nice!

Shesgotelectricboobs · 08/10/2016 07:58

kwick the first time yes. But if you hold perfume nozzle up against atomiser it'll go in.

If your perfume bottle unscrews then just pour it in.

It took me ages to work out how to do this.

kwick · 08/10/2016 09:42

I have 3 empties this morning:

  • Clinique deep comfort hand cream travel size - ok but want to try others and have a stash
  • Puriskun resurfacing cream small tin... really did not see how this was supposed to deal with so many "issues" and it got bobbly towards tge end (was in a Glossybox or magazine)
  • Loreal cushion dewy glow foundation - I really liked this and preferred to the Lancome one - am now trying a Korean one
Shesgotelectricboobs · 08/10/2016 11:12

Empty- Milton brown shower gel - honeysuckle and something. Was ok. But wouldn't repurchase myself as v expensive for what it is.

FrustratedFrugal · 08/10/2016 19:31

I'm done with my Halloween challenge!
13/13 items used up: 5 samples, 4 travel size and 4 full size products!

The final items were a pocket-size bottle of Nivea spf 30 sunscreen (a staple) I used up during the past week in Greece and a big 80 ml travel bottle of This Works Reviving shampoo. The latter is my all time favorite travel item - it can be used both as shampoo and shower gel, it smells great, the flattish bottle is perfect for the 1000ml carry-on minigrip, and just the right amount for a week away.

I bought two full-size bottles of Korres shower gel (Santorini Vine, Fig) at Athens airport this morning (they cost a lot less in Greece), plus a set of their travel minis. My hotel toiletries hoard is almost gone and I have no travel-size shampoos or shower gels left, so it's great to have some new ones Grin

Use up 12 by Christmas challenge coming up next!

LucyLot · 08/10/2016 19:42

Found three identical MAC lipsticks today, all used once and then discarded as I don't suit the colour. So I've mistakenly bought the same lipstick THREE TIMES!

Shesgotelectricboobs · 08/10/2016 19:45

Checked my list. I have used up 2 things.

Must get cracking on the rest

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 09/10/2016 07:43

Nice work frustrated are you the first?!!
I just have my touché eclait and dodgy nude coloured tilbury mini lipstick. I like it first on and feels gorgeous but then after 10 mins its a weird pasty peach sticking in all my lip lines.
lucy that is something! eBay? What colour?

kwick · 09/10/2016 11:17

Congratulations frustrated!!!! Great job!!!

Lucy Flowers perhaps you should give them away? Or can you mix with another colour so it suits?

kwick · 09/10/2016 11:48

I would not normally report empties from my mother's house but this has been a labour of love - particularly as these two are so old that they are sure to be full of bacteria....

Ashamed of my beauty product hoard - Part 3
FrustratedFrugal · 09/10/2016 11:53

Thanks all! I think someone else here got to 13 and beyond some weeks ago - congrats Flowers.

But I am super happy as there is definitely less clutter now. And when I looked at my stash, it seems that I am going to finish a bunch of full-size products shortly!

Here's my Finish 12 by Christmas list - 2/12 gone already!

I finished a travel-size This Works Balancing body moisturizer this morning. I like it, great smell and it comes in a fantastic small flat bottle, but I only need moisturizer on my legs so I tend to forget to use them. I also finished a travel-size Crest toothpaste. Nothing special, but I like to travel hand luggage only so mini products are essential.

FrustratedFrugal · 09/10/2016 11:56

Kwick I fully understand your feelings and well done! I've also kept a mini stash at my mother's and finishing those products feels really special as they've been there forever.
