I hadn't really kept in touch with her, but we were friends in Brussels. I was talking to my Aussie friend on the phone about two weeks ago, and she said that L had had breast cancer, but was responding well to treatment and they were optimistic. L had kept it quiet, as she thought she was going to beat it. There are photos of her from about two weeks ago on FB, and she looks fine - a bit thinner than she used to be, but fine. Will tell DD1 when she comes in as I think she is still in touch with with L's daughter.

motherinferior · 29/07/2016 22:46

Oh BD and MrsS.

I have had furious rows with all my fellow-inmates and wish they would all eff off and leave me in peace. Preferably for about a decade.

The very thought of a padded bra makes my tits start to sweat, Herbs. Grin

herbaceous · 30/07/2016 08:34

Have they gone yet, MI?

Mrs S - I had a dream last night that I got a job as your assistant. We had a high old time, getting up to japes around Europe. You stole an artefact from a museum and pretended it was me, but I didn't mind. It was all larks.

I have both a horrible headache and a very excited small boy. Neither are conducive to last-minute holiday prep. I also have another bout of hot flushes. This will not be good in 35deg heat.

herbaceous · 30/07/2016 08:42

The bra isn't padded. Just smoooooooth.

motherinferior · 30/07/2016 08:45

I am slightly too excited to read this

BD, that's so hard for you. Don't put yourself down. Have a bloody drink if it helps. As for paying for it later, well that's ok but just think of it as a process that you will get through. I would highly recommend a Cruse councillor. Very good free propping up service and I found it so helpful to just get out all the fury and unfairness to someone who isn't personally involved.Just a thought.

Mrs S, that is so appallingly sad, and I'm sorry they didn't catch the cancer early enough. Very shocking. Will you go over to the funeral? Sad

MI, ever thought of just moving into your own little flat? WinkI used to fantasise about that all the time when this house was full of dds friends and dhs crap. Leave them to it and go to the BL?

Herbs best of luck with the packing. I have sorted stuff out, now I just have to half it.Confused nightmare.

wordassociationfootball · 30/07/2016 08:56

Hatty you have a charming foot (can't speak for the other one :) )

Rose am enraged for you re: car.

ave been on M4 for 40 mins and not thought of a single thing I've forgotten.

New addition to the heavy packing: special pillow to raise feet for leg cramp avoidance.

I want a bra a bit like the ahh bra bit without loose floating triangular inserts, but with a little padding that's sewn in. With or without triangle pads the ahh style squash me flat.

Dd's date went beautifully. I used our final double check nit comb for a good chat about it.

Cremolafoam · 30/07/2016 09:00

MI that is making me breathless. You know I love miniature Beauty items. Am off to the Feel Unique site pronto. Too late for this trip, but never mind , still have London in September.Smile

Lalsy · 30/07/2016 09:35

GrinGrin At nit comb date chat opportunity. What a lovely tale, WAF. Have a great time.

MI, what have they done, or it is general family rubbish?

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/07/2016 09:36

Crem, when I lived in Paris, my doctor was in the Marais and his surgery would have made the perfect tiny flat. The waiting room had a sofa, piano and loads of books, the surgery itself would have made a nice bedroom and he had a shower room attached to it. Being in the Marais, I would never have cooked, just eaten falafel every day.

Not going to the funeral, no, she moved to California a few years ago.

Cremolafoam · 30/07/2016 09:57

A perfect Marais pied de terre. The stuff that dreams are made of.Grin yes to L'as du Felafel every day. Also a tiny Mexican in the rue de Saintonge that has a secret bar in the back serving cocktails and tacos. Hmm, maybe next Tuesday night..... Was thinking of going to your nice restaurant in the 17eme, next week Mrs S, but I think they are closed for the vacances. Boo.

bigTillyMint · 30/07/2016 10:11

Oh that is sad MrsS.

WAF, am liking that you have not thought of anything you have forgotten yet - that is my dread feeling when on the way!

Just spent half an hour trekking back and forth to the Post Office with DH - he insisted they would need to see me to certify our identification documents for the solicitor, but neglected to do photocopies, so back to do them, then he went off without the copy of his passport.... Angry I am sure he can only be holding down his job because of his PA. Like most men, I bet.

Need to remember to get DD and mates train tickets booked for the next Open Day (once she has booked in, of course!) so they don't cost an arm and a leg. And need to get on with the packing malarkey. Boo!

Not deluded, MI. What are they?

motherinferior · 30/07/2016 18:01

Skechers. I am also hoping that the warming effect of the memory foam will mean I don't need to wear socks (I get very cold feet).

And they're washable, be still my Crepey heart!

They aren't too bad! Wait for your DC's judgement Wink

Well I am 90% packed. Everyone else is 0%. But then I am expected to remember and buy/find/whatever all the extras like suncream and adaptor plugs.

Lalsy · 30/07/2016 18:59

Of course, BTM. Who else could do it?

ds checked in from third stop of walking hol - dh reckons they going for slowest ever completion of this bit of trail but ds says they are having a nice time.

MI, those are the ones I had. They didn't work for my awkward feet but have friends who swear by them.

motherinferior · 30/07/2016 19:07

DP has spent ALL DAY AT WORK, barring lunch with me before I took dd2's sax to be mended and bought such essentials as school uniform and pants to fit DD1 (instead of her age 11-12 ones).

OP posts:
MrsSchadenfreude · 30/07/2016 19:25

I feel utterly exhausted and have spent the whole of the afternoon asleep. Got woken up by the Amazon man delivering my French porn. Research, you know...

DD2 is still asleep. It might take her a while to get over her jet lag.

DH has gone out with his brother. DD1 is cooking dinner. We both have wine. Grin

motherinferior · 30/07/2016 19:45

I am swigging sipping a limoncello/lemon juice aperitif.

DD2 not overwhelmed by new shoes. Doubtless her dad will say they will be fine as long as accessorised with mini-skirt.HmmConfused

Hello Crepeys

Bon voyages to all,Crepey holiday makers... The intrepid BTM clan who always go to such amazing places; herbs and co...lovely that MIL is a bit better, and that DP has a job offer; waf it's never really hot in Wales but it is beautiful; crem It must be soon...have you turned the corner health wise? ..anyone else?

Sorry about your friend MrsS It still comes as a shock even though you may not have been in touch. Thanks for the tip about the car and CCTV...would you believe it, we spoke to the police and there is a camera on every corner of the road except where mine was parked. Angry I too feel like I've lost my faith in human nature hatty

How are you BD ? the photos on FB are beautiful and a fantastic memory.

I have had a wasted and frustrating day. DD was keen to see the Yayoi Kusama exhibition which we only found out about yesterday ( it ends today) So me, her and DH set off mid morning and arrive to a four (4, iv) hour queue. So we didn't see it. Even after we went for lunch and came back it was still estimated at 3 hours. Angry ...and DS2 is driving me a bit nuts with what's app photos for. Berlin, of a sore and swollen toe expecting me to presumably cure it by magic over the Internet. In the end I sent the photo to our lovely chiropodist who is also a friend and was cheered that my original advice, to bathe in salt water was correct. Of course DS has now gone off the radar... Confused

beachy I'm setting off for the flat on Wednesday. Will be in touch Smile

Rosebag · 30/07/2016 19:48

They're fine MI and hopefully good for walking. Just don't wear them with a frum skirt Grin

bigTillyMint · 30/07/2016 20:10

MrsS, that sounds like a result tonight Grin

Well everyone appears to be sort of packed. I have set my alarm as I will be the one to wake everyone up, of course.

Rose, I think I would disown DS if he sent me photos of a manky toe
