How would you describe my style? (Home)

It's a French country/vintage look, but polished and nothing too florally. I draw a line with a lot of Cath Kidston bollocks but have some of her subtle things

So polished, country style and very chic and stylish, but NOT modern.

I would've said country/shabby chic but it's more collected and put together than that, if you get me BlushConfusedGrinWine

Unfortunately not my shelves, just one of my many shelf-crushes found online! One day I will put the effort in and sort my house out.

Love your vtg pyrex Dave - and also your coffee table and everything else

EnidButton · 10/07/2016 23:52

It's contemporary country OP

EnidButton · 10/07/2016 23:58

I like it btw. It's calming and bright. I also like Dave's, especially the kitchen cupboard.

dontrustcharisma · 11/07/2016 00:07

Dave and Advent win the tasteful prize, I'm sorry OP but the pictures you posted show no taste whatsoever, just an ability to buy things in beige.

EnidButton · 11/07/2016 00:08

Just had a look on Instagram and she's got 43k + followers so obviously a lot of people love it. I don't think those are the best three pics from the others I've just seen. I think it's a gorgeous home. Just goes to show how different we all are when it comes to personal taste. (Not my house btw but surprised at how much people dislike it. Strange.)

DavetheCat2001 · 11/07/2016 07:24

I like it but would struggle to keep it looking pristine like that.

My kids have no respect for interior design! Grin

EasternDailyStress · 11/07/2016 07:55

I think the official MN description is "twigs and pebbly shit"
Grin

Trills · 11/07/2016 08:32

I like a bit of twigs and pebbly shit.

Trills · 11/07/2016 08:36

The best word I can come up with for the pictures he OP posted (particularly the dining room) are "fucking massive".

GinIsIn · 11/07/2016 08:48

dave I love your house!

OP, if I had to describe the style of that house I would say 'try-hard'. It's immaculate as a show house but not even remotely a home.

HuckfromScandal · 11/07/2016 08:51

Having read some of the thread.
It's twee as fuck.
I couldn't bear my house to look that ficking bland and beige.
Even her kids are bland and beige.
It's just sad

IceMountain · 11/07/2016 21:44

I really like the OPs style - there's something calming about it. Some people call it bland, but I like that - calm and ordered. Smile
