It's a French country/vintage look, but polished and nothing too florally. I draw a line with a lot of Cath Kidston bollocks but have some of her subtle things

So polished, country style and very chic and stylish, but NOT modern.

I would've said country/shabby chic but it's more collected and put together than that, if you get me BlushConfusedGrinWine

Same got a teething 16 week old next to me. Getting shit all done (and that includes sleep) currently eating spag Bol in bed Confused

OhTheRoses · 09/07/2016 19:58

Now the OP has said it isn't her house. It's contrived, bland, and very modern take Laura Ashley. It is Not stylish. It's contemporary formulaic.

NCreggo · 09/07/2016 19:59

Modern country id call it.

Get inspiration from Laura Ashley mags, this is a little plain for my taste but I like the jist

Buddahbelly · 09/07/2016 19:59

I already follow you on instagram too OP Grin.

No idea what to name your house though - Next house/ show house suits it well but bit more upmarket than next?

Mine would be currently described as a v tech/hot wheels explosion.

youneedabiscuit · 09/07/2016 20:00

sleepy you're my hero Grin

It's one up from Next, Laura Ashley home perhaps.

NCreggo · 09/07/2016 20:01

Agree with the person who said Next.

This kind of style looks better when it's slightly more eclectic (unique car boot items, not cliche catalogue esque knick knacks)

DavetheCat2001 · 09/07/2016 20:04

Is this 'nappy valley' or just 'mishmashed chic'? Grin

I love the "darling buds of may" 1950s cupboard !

SimplyNigella · 09/07/2016 20:06

Like the Greige blog and website?

DavetheCat2001 · 09/07/2016 20:08

I won't post up the other side of the kitchen youneedabiscuit, you'd have a shit fit! Grin

NCreggo · 09/07/2016 20:14

Pleeeeease post it !

BennyTheBall · 09/07/2016 20:15

It's a bit 'homes by Next'! Too contrived.

OhTheRoses · 09/07/2016 20:19

I prefer Dave's Grin.

DavetheCat2001 · 09/07/2016 20:25

Yeah baby!!!

OhTheRoses · 09/07/2016 20:27

I still prefer Dave's

PeacesofAte · 09/07/2016 20:28

I'd describe it as 'suburban'. I'd much rather have a World of Interiors home than a House Beautiful home, having seen this.

Shadow1986 · 09/07/2016 20:30

I already follow you on Instagram too! Gorgeous house

Shadow1986 · 09/07/2016 20:31

I'm housetohomeinterior OP

SoupDragon · 09/07/2016 20:36

Does it need a name?

My home is simply filled with things I like, I don't adhere to a style other than just mine.

Muddlewitch · 09/07/2016 20:39

I love yours Dave, so does the house in the op belong to someone famous then?

Buddahbelly · 09/07/2016 20:39

I prefer dave's too Smile sorry. If I owned that first house it would never look like that for a start but would also never be so clean, I dont do cream/beiges for the reason we have pets.

Daves looks like I could get away with cleaning for a few days at a time (stares at own kitchen wondering how long its been since I mopped).

*No offence daves kitchen Smile

squoosh · 09/07/2016 20:42

I really love the 1950s cupboard in Dave's. The rest is flirting dangerously with Cath Kidson for my taste. The house in the OP is a bit bland, like everything was bought in one shop on the same day and then just artfully arranged.
