Please help me not look a twat at my own wedding?

I'm dead organised me, so currently looking to purchase something to wear for my own wedding in mid-June (yes, three weeks time). I have an unfortunate tendency to look like a massive twat in dresses, so will need to find a trouser-based affair. I have tried on this and it was lovely but I am short - barely five foot short - and worried that culotte style bottoms is going to make me look really silly.

What do you think - am I going to look stumpy and daft, or will it be fine? Do you have any stylish suggestions? Any input VERY gratefully received. I am a size 10-12 as well as being a massive short arse, if it helps.

Self Portrait - top choice. Also look at J Crew. I think a white/nearly white lace dress would look great.

Also - possibly - think Bianca Jagger when she maried Mick. White wide trousers and a tux style jacket. Heels will help with your height.

Sorry OP I think twatsville is where you are heading with your cullotes. I think you will regret them as they are a bit fashiony atm.

Why haven't you considered a dress? PP outnet dress is cute, you need to get shopping ASAP.
I'll have a quick look for you, but think classic (ie not cullotes) for your big day.

I think that outfit looks what a smart office worker would wear rather than for a wedding, attending or actually being the bride!

I'm your size and I don't think that would work on me. Plus it's really not dressy enough for a bride. I'd be thinking white suit or tuxedo, slim legs, tailored jacket. Team it with a big glittery brooch on the lapel and some flashy jewellery and you've got something really bridal and fierce without being girly.

Minipie, probably a couple of inches above the ankle. Definitely too long as is, but relatively easily altered.

I am being a bit facetious - I look alright in a dress, but I don't feel good and that shows. I have considered it, and tried a few different styles on, but didn't find anything I liked at all really. Gruach's link is really pretty, but not for me. I am, despite my size, not a delicate, dainty sort of woman at all.

I thought wide leg trousers were for long legged gazelle types rather than stumpies petite types? I will have a look but am mildly concerned about being totally swamped.

Yeah ultimately I agree about culottes I think, or I'd be ordering it instead of posting here. It's a shame because the top part is dead pretty, and it fits really well. I also see the point about it not being a very exciting wedding outfit, which was made by my friend as well as Gruach. I am really struggling with this - there is a fairly good chance I will be attending my own wedding in my trusty black jeans!

I'm also short and I know I would look a complete tit in that length of trouser, sorry - it'd look like shorts that were just too long.

I'd go for slimmer fit cropped trousers with a pretty top and maybe a jacket.

Though I really wouldn't write off dresses until you've tried a few on AND made sure there is someone else there to tell you honestly how you look or post a few photos on here. The style linked to above is incredibly flattering on a shorter frame.

Please don't wear those trousers in your op. You are sadly a little short for them - as would I be too. The dress on the outnet site was lovely.

As a similar shape, I would go for trousers maybe like like these ones (though I can see that link isn't the best quality trouser) with sandals, and then add a top like one of these:

Well this is more fun than what I should be doing. Sorry but I find you choice a little dull. I definitely think you can do better. When I was choosing my dress I had a big meltdown about the whole white dress thing ( after a horrible experience). I went to Liberty and tried a number of designer numbers on. ( not wedding dresses). Some of them, like Alice Temperley would not look out of place at the poshest wedding. You don't need to conform to anyone's idea of what an outfit should be but you do need to feel wonderful in it. It might be the whole full length, floaty, frou frou aspect that puts you off in which case a chic knee length dress might work ( silk maybe). If you're determined to do trousers then think about what colours you feel nice in - forget the need for it to be cream or white if this is not you but it does need to be special no? Do you want a hat? You could make a simple outfit more bridal with a cool hat.... And shoes? Too much? Sorry first think dress or trousers and then work from there. If you want people to link to options then let us know.

All white & I'd opt for pale blue courts as I think this is a contemporary twist on the classic.

Ps I've just seen the posts above. I thought a jumpsuit would be ace and there are a number of options on ASOS, although I thought you might want something a bit more special.

It's your wedding. What do you really want to wear? If you're set on trousers but not sure about wide legs/culottes, maybe something like this "bridal" jumpsuit from J Crew? Or this J Crew one, one shoulder and cheaper. Would separates work better for you?

Thanks for the links! I like the white trousers, and some of the sequin tops. I did try on a wonderfully glittery top somewhere but it was totally shapeless - mind you would that be alright with slim fit trousers? I'll try and find the link. I tried it with a leather-look skirt, which was very pretty, but too long, and surely too sweaty for June!

Yeah I am open to separates or jumpsuits.

I did spend a day shopping with two brutally honest friends and we have all come away agreed that dresses are not for me!
