I've thrown my Converse in the bin. What white trainers??

So I'm currently in London on a mini break and have spent 2 days with my feet killing. Bloody Converse are so so uncomfy on me, they pinch my toes despite buying a half size larger. I've put gel insoles in but to no avail.

Nike downshifters are heavenly comfy

But quite possible a a style crime Grin

InWithTheOutlaws · 07/05/2016 21:14

Skechers. Nothing more comfortable if comfort is your thing...try the Go Walks.

Honeyandfizz · 07/05/2016 21:14

Pressed too soon!

Now I'm looking at Superga, Adidas possibly Stan Smiths or Jigsaws Ayda. I like the simple skinny jeans, Breton top look. I'm 39 and my dd has Adidas so not sure about them. They HAVE to be comfy. Any recommendations??

Many thanks

I really want to like Stan Smith's, I really do. However I tried them on and thought they looked awful! Big and clumpy with bright green bits on them. I went for white Supergas in the end. They are comfy and I think they are a much more flattering shape.

Skechers go walk are like walking on clouds.

Adidas SL72s are available in white and are amazingly comfortable and don't make your feet look chunky like Stan Smiths do.

sisterguitar · 07/05/2016 21:48

ive just bought superga white leather mid tops as i fancied something a bit different to converse. wasnt sure at first because they are quite different to converse but really like them now.

sisterguitar · 07/05/2016 21:50

im 35.

I find Supergas muh comfier than Converse. If you're after a quick/cheap fix then New Look have faux-Converse type trainers in - slightly more slimline versions - which felt extremely comfy when I tried them on in store. The comfiest pair of pumps I ever had came from there so myabe worth a try.

ScarletForYa · 07/05/2016 21:53

Adidas.

Uptownfuckuup · 07/05/2016 22:11

low vans

PoppyAmex · 07/05/2016 22:26

I have supergas (a few pairs and love the silver ones), but for white my go-to are classic keds. Love them in the Summer and they look perfect with skinny jeans and bretons.

I'm European and this is a look I'm very fond of since teenage years which probably means I should move on

PoppyAmex · 07/05/2016 22:28

Also like them with casual dresses like this one

Paddingtonthebear · 07/05/2016 22:32

I find converse really uncomfortable too. I have small bony feet. My most comfy trainers are Adidas Honey Low and Vans Sk8te high tops. Only shoes I've ever had that didn't rub my feet at the start!

Paddingtonthebear · 07/05/2016 22:33

I'm 40 btw

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/05/2016 22:48

I love my Converse Hi Tops.
I'm nearly 50, no style guru , very narrow feet.

Admittedly, they have no arch support, so after a full day walking my feet would be Hmm at me, but I can go shopping, walking, about my day.
Last year (on my birthday) DH and I walked 14 miles in London, my feet were fine, my ankles ached though where my jeggings rubbed.
I have Sketchers for work (the bloody laces come undone all the while) very comfy .
No Help At All. Blush

I have just recently bought a pair of Nike Roshe. So damn comfortable

BabyGanoush · 07/05/2016 23:07

Ash shoes are incredibly wellmade and comfy

CodyKing · 07/05/2016 23:20

Have you looked at rocket dog?

phoolani · 07/05/2016 23:33

Nike lunarglide. Comfiest trainers ever.

dragonsarebest · 08/05/2016 00:14

Nike air force 1s are my most comfortable trainers. Converse, supergas etc are just too flat to be comfy I think. My Stan smiths are good but the AF1s are seriously good.

boobyooby · 08/05/2016 00:16

Carvela are doing some comfy trainers at, much prefer over my converse

AverysillyoldHector · 08/05/2016 00:19

My Supergas are really comfy. They are heavier, but thats a small price to pay imho
