GiddyGiddyGoat · 30/04/2016 19:49

Err, how did that happen with no one noticing!
It's because we're all on the dark and stormy, sloe gin and prosecco innit.

Sorry for the not v inspired title but I panicked.

She sounds v contented, Mrs S.

All the best to injured crepies. Have a good Monday.

I am spending the next two days working in Paris. Was only invited on Fri pm. It's so great having older children.

bigTillyMint · 22/05/2016 19:04

Beachy, just get your DH to strip off and beat you on the bottom with the Woman's WeeklyGrin

WAF, that sounds parfait!

CointreauVersial · 22/05/2016 20:34

Beachy - just seen a gorgeous prom night photo of DS and our mutal friend's DD, looking very glam together. They scrub up well!

addle · 23/05/2016 07:12

Cremo - my lovely siblings are changing plans so that I can come to your birthday - could you add me to the list please? and v happy to pay my way

I want to go to Sardinia or Paris or wherever Mrs S posted the pic of on FB just not Lisbon where DH currently is and where we had an appalling honeymoon

addle · 23/05/2016 07:12

ps good luck to all taking exams this week - Monday and Wednesday here

Cremo · 23/05/2016 07:28

Oh that's lovely Addle, so glad you will be able to come.

NUFC69 · 23/05/2016 09:45

Morning all, I hope the Crepey aches and pains are feeling better by now.

MI, enjoy your well earned break.

BTM, congratulations to DS (and to little Morpeth Town who yesterday defeated Hereford to win the FA Vase).

How are you doing, MrsS?

Another week, but the spots continue: youngest DGS has just come out in the dreaded pox - he is absolutely covered, it looks more like a rash. Very unhappy little one. They are all still with us, of course, move out day is now Friday - light at the end of the tunnel.

The Gas Company are here working under the stairs at the meter, trying to install a new pipe to the mains - happy days. DH and I have a 'medical' week planned: both to the dentist today, him to physio in the morning, followed by me to my postponed appt at dental hospital, him to the Freeman Hospital on Wednesday morning - what joy.

Lovely day here, though.

Rosebag · 23/05/2016 10:12

You and me both NU ...so checkup is over and I have made parole for another year, so it seems. Normal bloods, no tumour markers, no abnormal lumps or bumps. Why does this never get any easier? I can't face going home yet. Cup of tea in the hospital canteen is the usual habit but the whole place is undergoing massive building work and I couldn't find said canteen! So have repaired to a local Costa.

Mi I think being pummelled by a fit young man is just the thing. Those paper thongs....what's the point. They cover nothing anyway!

How do you feel today mrsS ?

waf how absolutely marvellous!!!

Right...off to check my eBay selling. Have got bold and am selling more than one thing at simultaneously... Living dangerously. Grin

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/05/2016 11:47

I am still horribly sad and keep crying. Supposed to be going out tonight with work colleagues. Not sure if this is a good idea or not. Can't stay late anyway as I have an early meeting tomorrow.

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/05/2016 11:49

Sorry to hear about your Aunt, Auriga. This has been a tough year for you.

Auriga · 23/05/2016 12:20

MrsS the loss of the kitty must have released a lot of pent-up sadness from all the other recent losses Sad

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/05/2016 15:05

Bit pissed and emotional. Have cancelled night out. Think this is wise.

Auriga · 23/05/2016 15:41

Aaaargh! Rant alert!

In March, I launched a claim in the small claims court against solicitors who owe me a fee from July 2013. Never been driven to this before but they'd ignored all invoices, e-mails, phone calls & reminders. They belatedly acknowledged a formal written complaint, said they'd reply within two weeks, then ignored two more reminders over three months.

Then they defended the claim, on grounds which I could immediately show were spurious, with the help of the Legal Aid Authority (who replied by return) and the government's legal aid manager for the firm, with whom I'm now on first-name terms.

When I served my directions form on them, by registered post to the person and address on their court form, they returned it 'Addressee has gone away'. Sent it again by normal post with copy of the return envelope - they kept it that time.

They said they wanted mediation. I said the same. Appointment provisionally made for today, with a five-hour window for a telephone call. Waited by phone 2.5 hours (admittedly doing other work) before realising I should have had e-mail giving me a more exact time. Called mediation service. Guess what? Defendants have ignored all their e-mails and phone calls as well.

So now it has to go to court. And since I gave my dates to avoid, I have booked our holidays Angry Angry.

I would have accepted an offer of a third, even a fifth of the fee, if they'd come back with a courteous explanation and an apology. But now I'm properly cross. And have another headache.

Feels better having got that off my chest, though Grin

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/05/2016 17:10

I would be spitting feathers, Auriga. The fact that they are solicitors would make me madder still.

I am home. DH is in bed with a headache. No doubt he will emerge to ask what is for dinner at some point. Other cat is clinging to me. Had another little cry.

bigTillyMint · 23/05/2016 17:25

So they gave DD the wrong fucking exam paperAngry She didn't realise until she was talking to her friend after. She was in absolute bits, but she went back and is resitting it now.

So proud of DDStarStarStar

Rosebag · 23/05/2016 17:32

Oh no tilly. DD really is amazing Flowers

Auriga Angry for you. Someone needs to close them down....

MrsS a lot of things coming to a head at the same time. How about taking dinner to bed on a tray.... ? Flowers You poor love xx

Am biting finger nails as one of my actions nears closure... yikes!

Rosebag · 23/05/2016 17:32

auctions...

hattymattie · 23/05/2016 17:33

God BTM - how stressful for DD - I'm glad they let her resit immediately. Does that mean she did two exams in one day?

Auriga - disgraceful and unecessary behaviour by solicitors. They need to pay you lots.

Mrs S - Your FB account of your train journey made me laugh. You are very naughty though - shocking old ladiesWinkGrin

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/05/2016 17:36

BTM - that is utterly pants. Your poor DD. How fucking dare they.

Hatty - Grin

Rose - I have loads of clothes that I should stick on ebay, but CBA. Is it really worthwhile? (I suspect the answer is yes, and I need to get my act into gear.)

bigTillyMint · 23/05/2016 17:44

She did one this morning as well, so in one day.

DH might have shouted down the phone. A lotGrin

MontserratCaballe · 23/05/2016 17:44

MrsS, I did enjoy the train journey. Hope you have more gin on the go.

Btm, well done to Dd. superstar. But rubbish of school though.

Auriga, not paying one's expert is professional misconduct. As is failing to deal with correspondence - you need to complain to the SRA. That will make them sit up as they could have their practising certificate compromised and their insurance will rocket. Sorry you are out of pocket.

Rose, I love eBay too. Meant to put some bits on today but didn't get round to it. Provides a nice little pot if cash for more treats.

So much work on this week. Feel a bit sick.

Rosebag · 23/05/2016 17:45

I'm not sure, MrsS but I just opened a PayPal account for the proceeds and will treat it as some sort of savings stash for future, selfish S&B purchases. I figured that even if I only get a few quid for a garment, that's a lot more than if were still in the wardrobe gathering dust. Smile

addle · 23/05/2016 17:46

BTM dear god, what we all dread. Good fr dd! Trust she has nothing tomorrow and can unwind a bit.

Auriga that's shockingly unprofessional behaviour. Glad you've called them on it but sorry about wasted time and headache.

Mrs S retire to the sofa with dinner fr one. You have had too much on.
