Err, how did that happen with no one noticing!
It's because we're all on the dark and stormy, sloe gin and prosecco innit.

Sorry for the not v inspired title but I panicked.

OK, thanks, Crem. Hope you are enjoying your break! Smile Thanks for asking. Smile

CV, must chat to you about Wimbledon sometime...head for the Villlage for charity shops.

addle · 21/05/2016 23:15

Auriga and Molly - another time! Auriga, sorry to hear about your aunt and hope you start to feel better v soon.

bTM congrats to ds. Pretty impressive.

CV I guess the death of yr arch enemy leaves a peculiar sort of gap. Well done in spotting the diamonds in the rough as it were.

Mrs S, well done and hope you're not too shattered.

CointreauVersial · 22/05/2016 01:10

Oh yes, Molly, I have done a brief scout of the Village charity shops - vair posh offerings. But they know the value of what they're selling. This is why I like the local ones - lots of nice stuff, but still cheaply priced.

MontserratCaballe · 22/05/2016 08:53

Dear Auriga, so sorry to hear about your aunt. Hope you are OK and will that your back gets better soon Flowers.

How are you this morning, Mrs S? Thinking of you Flowers

BTM, well done to DS. Lovely pic on FB.

CV, good haul. I met MI for lunch on Friday in F Hill and discovered 2 new (to me) shops which I will now frequent. The offerings round here are patchy - the T Hill one has the odd gem but soooooooo much dross and the H Hill Oxfam is ludicrously overpriced. £5 for a Primark top? No thanks.

Crem, hope your evening picked up. Where is the big hotel room? Sorry if I have missed something important.

Addle, thank you for the invitation to the NPG. It's very much up my alley but alas DH is away for the weekend so I am on child watch. When does it close? Hope to catch it before the end.

Happy Sunday, y'all.

hattymattie · 22/05/2016 08:59

Mrs S - so glad the cat is well installed - I hope your lady keeps sending positive updates - very reassuring. Sounds like she's bounced back quickly if she's eating and sleeping peacefully.

CV - strange sort of karma for arch enemy. I often wonder what became of people from school. Friends Reunited was good for that before it was eclipsed by FB.

DD2 got back from prom at 3 am last night, during the mother of all storms. They'd hired an Uber car between them which worked much better than poor tired parents making the trip. I was a bit worried about her being dropped of last and consequently in a car with a stranger but the boys reorganised themselves so she was dropped off before hulking male teenager.

Lalsy · 22/05/2016 09:14

Auriga, very sorry to hear your news Flowers, You have been through the wringer. I hope you feel better soon.

Tilly Well done to ds! That is fab.

MrsS glad Shitten has a lovely new home.

Rosebag · 22/05/2016 09:58

It's hard to know what to think when arch enemy has an untimely end CV. It's sad but it doesn't absolve her being horrible to you at school, though. Amazing silver haul, though...

tilly your DS is a Star

crem I hope you are using this lovely huge hotel room for Suitable Activity Grin Blush

Did you wait up hatty ?

mrsS how are you feeling today?

More revision shite at this end. And DH has rearranged for some American corporates from work to have early supper locally ( they will have been to football near here) with us en famille. Hmm I'm not good with corporate types....

In other news I just can't understand why I didn't grasp the eBay nettle and learn to use it ages ago. I have a nice little PayPal account filling up...third item has a bid and two watchers. This ones going to run and run, I think.... Childishly excited. Not so much about charity shops however, ..they're horrible around here, quite awful. I suppose that's what you get for living at the butt end of the Piccadilly line I suppose.....

Collymollypuff · 22/05/2016 10:03

The Morden charity shops at the end of the Northern Line are tragic.

Shock at your "suitable activity", Rose. Wink Good luck with your ebay items.

bigTillyMint · 22/05/2016 10:06

Thanks Crepeys! He h's had a fabulous footy year - let's hope he mirrors it in the early GCSES!

Cremo I hope you are getting to make the most of that lovely hotel room Wink

Rose, I hope I have your luck - trying to eBay DMs old spinning stuff - quite a niche market I imagine!

I am breakfasting in the sun in my back garden, on my own and it is lovely!

Cremo · 22/05/2016 10:21

AlsoLove Ebay , when i dont get a snarky customer Rose.
Dm has asked me to sell her mink bolero jacket. Im not sure how i feel about this, except the poor creatures have been dead a long time. Do people buy such things any more?
Maybe I should try forrin Ebay in places where people don't mind about furry dead things? Ebay.ru?

The Palatial Room was , sadly, not used for anything more than crashing out. Boo. Dh drank a bottle of rosé and planked. Fortunately the bed was also Enormous so I barely knew he was there. snoring like a pig. He is off to learn the finer techniques of Patisserie at Baking School. This was a xmas gift from me.
I am doing antique markets, a craft fair and a farmers market today. I also discovered i had paid in advance for the hotel so I now have €200 burning a hole in my pocket. Oops!
Also it is a beautiful day here in south of Ireland. Goal!!

CV solid silver!!!! Are you having a laugh? Blimey you have a good eye!
I never see things like this. Well done. How marvellous!

MI hope Sardinia , she is spoiling you.

bigTillyMint · 22/05/2016 10:23

Cremo, your day sounds fab! Go enjoy!

motherinferior · 22/05/2016 10:39

I am sitting in a sunlit square drinking espresso.

Our local charity shops are being quite fab a the moment - Monty encouraged me to get a Toast cotton print skirt with oranges on it. Needs v slight alteration but will be so fab.

herbaceous · 22/05/2016 12:56

MI isn't the only one living the high life. We stayed in the Aldershot Premier Inn last night. Breakfast this morning prompted the following joke:

Q: how many ukip voters does it take to fill up a Premier Inn restaurant?

A: not many, if you go by volume.

magimedi · 22/05/2016 13:04

Sorry to hear about your aunt, Auriga. Flowers

Eastbourne charity shops would beat all of yours - for direness Grin

Having a lazy day watching the Tennis

Herbs - give my love to Aldershot - we got married there. Not the most glam of places.

CointreauVersial · 22/05/2016 13:07

Sounds bliss, MI. The expresso and sunlit square, I mean. At least it's not raining today.

I had a long dream about Arch Enemy last night....quite poignant, as we chatted about what she's been up to, how her family was etc. even though I knew in the dream that she was dead.

In reality, I only saw her once after school, about five years later I bumped into her (bizarrely) in a cafe in Istanbul. We spoke for a few minutes - it was awkward, but OK. I think by then our animosity towards each other had run its course. I later heard that she'd moved to California and become a spiritual healer and shaman, a piece of news which made me hoot with laughter at the time. She was manipulative and selfish when I knew her. But maybe people change....anyway, she developed cancer, and her health insurance company pulled the plug on her treatment, so all very sad in the end.

Talking of eBay, I must get into the loft and list some more stuff. I have a pair of curtains on at the moment, and bidding is at £40 - much less than they are really worth, but second hand curtains seem to be tricky to sell. I tried a local curtain exchange, but they were very sniffy about my offerings, so I have resorted to eBay. None of the curtains from our old place (Victorian cottage, tiny windows) fit the current place (1930s/80s, massive windows), and after 7+ years sitting idle in the loft I really must shift them all.

CointreauVersial · 22/05/2016 13:09

Oh, very droll, Herbs. Grin

Cremo · 22/05/2016 13:10

For what its worth Herbs, dh pronounced this morning that the Premier Inn Beds were better than the giant marshmallow we slept in last night. Ungrateful bastard.
Off to Farmers mkt mow, for a pick and mix luncheon. Huzzah!

hattymattie · 22/05/2016 13:22

Crem - your day sounds lovey - it is tossing it down here so I'm going to do my hair colour!

CV - just goes to prove we're not so badly off with the good old NHS.

Glad you're having fun in Sardinia MI. When I'm in London will we be near any fab charity shops or are you too far away?

Auriga - sorry about your Aunt, and sorry I neglected to mention it before - I seem to get to the bottom of the page and forget what I read at the top these days.

MrsSchadenfreude · 22/05/2016 15:01

I am sitting on a boat. It is warm and sunny. Encouraging reports re cat, who has decided not to hide under the sofa, but to explore. And has found a nice sunny spot to sleep.

Cremo · 22/05/2016 15:48

She sounds delightful with her furry self Mrs S. You loved her and set her free. Beautiful .Smile

I am stuffed with Oirish cheese and solid bread, interesting leaves and divine chutney.
Now having a coffee and have gound a couple of charity shoppies too.
GrinBrew

MrsSchadenfreude · 22/05/2016 15:48

Other cat keeps looking for her apparently, and is bewildered and mewly

bigTillyMint · 22/05/2016 16:14

She will readjust, MrsSSmile

Cremo, sounds luverly! Premier Inns have some special type of mattress, doncha know?Grin

Just been for a dog walk with my friend - definitely the way to meet people, if you can cope with the mad-dog-folk who chat away for ages!

motherinferior · 22/05/2016 16:39

A muscular young man has just pummelled my naked* body vigorously for an hour. I do so much for my job.

*apart from a paper thong. I also had to wear one for the massage I forgot to mention yesterday and only belatedly realised I had put it on backwards.

herbaceous · 22/05/2016 17:22

Premier Inn beds are SUPERCOMFY. Just like Lenny Henry says.

Sounds like the pusscat is going to settle in Scotland just dandy, Mrs S. As are you, by the sounds of it!

MrsSchadenfreude · 22/05/2016 18:13

Herbs, I am back tomorrow and straight out on the piss.
