BTM - well done to DS. That's the trophy to have!
MrsS - that must have been an awful journey.
Enjoy a bit of R&R before you head back home to the usual domestic crap, and be comforted by the fact that the Shitten is going to be well looked after.
MI - have a fab time, you deserve a break.
Crem - the dress is lovely, and will really suit you.
Monty - I have a very similar skirt, bought from the charity shop (of course). But I've never worn it, as I can't find anything for the top half. And DH, who clearly hasn't been reading the fashion press, thinks pleated skirts are 80s frumpsville.
Well, despite all the crepey tips about tea places near Nat Gall, in the end DFriend couldn't get there early, so we met up at the reunion itself and drank wine instead. It was a fun evening catching up with school buddies, some I haven't seen since we left, and others who were at the "big" reunion last year. I was strangely shocked to hear about the death (only two weeks ago) of someone who I considered my nemesis/arch enemy - she was the queen bee of my year, and we spent five years at loggerheads. I don't know why it affected me but I can't stop thinking about her today.
Today has been rubbish weather, which is a shame as it was our village pageant. DH and I took a quick turn around the stalls, bought some doughnuts, admired the rescue greyhounds, stroked the tame owls, watched the maypole dancers etc. etc. but just as we were heading for home I found an excellent charity stall (of course). I picked some brand new Body Shop stuff, a crystal pendant and a pretty, but slightly grubby, silver-coloured bracelet......got home and had a good look at the jewellery - both were hallmarked and solid silver! A quick dunk in the silver dip, and I'm delighted with my bargains.
