Err, how did that happen with no one noticing!
It's because we're all on the dark and stormy, sloe gin and prosecco innit.

Sorry for the not v inspired title but I panicked.

Crem, it is indeed my grey and pink girl. SadSadSad I think she will be happier as an only cat and being able to go outside. She is the sweetest cat ever, which begs the question why we are getting rid of her and not Bully Boy, He is so phenomenally stupid he wouldn't survive going outside, and is a lot more needy and clingy than her (eg he sleeps on top of me, and has to touch me all the time when I am home - he is sitting behind me at the moment, with his paw on my shoulder). And was in and out of rescue before we had him. I do feel a failure though - she was my very first kitten, all of my other cats have been second hand.

Rose, they can all geh kack oifen yam, as far as I am concerned.

It really doesn't seem very countryside, does it....

I am planning on trying to resume further normality tomorrow, amid funeral planning and trying to track down people to read poems in classical Tamil (I am to read the translation, with alterations "because Ramanujan didn't get it completely accurate, darling"). Fortunately the relevant bloke knew the poem to which I was referring, rather than having to be sent a wonky photocopy from a language I neither read nor speak.

Blu · 15/05/2016 23:22

Oh, MI, I missed this.
So sorry, my love.
((( )))

Auriga · 15/05/2016 23:36

I've been trying to keep up but usually can't manage to post, for the time being. Anything I might say seems fatuous. Just trying to get by.

Back was improving but now much worse again, after being stuck in the car for hours last week. Disc ruptured. Going to take a while to heal.

DD's exams start tomorrow & I think she'll be relieved. She's been very stressed recently and even missed orchestra on Saturday to revise Sad.

Sympathy to those with work stresses and exam-ridden teens. And I'm thinking of you, MI and Montserrat.

Hope to see some of you at NPG next w/e

Blackduck · 16/05/2016 05:45

Cremo mine is an iPhone 4 too, hence not long for this world. I really don't want to pay too much. Dbro waved his Moto G at me and said 'this works', but he's really of the 'don't care' school.

MI much strength. Likewise MrsS - enjoy you last week with the kitten.

bigTillyMint · 16/05/2016 06:59

CV, RE GCSE here today, Chemistry? tomorrow! I am just about to wake DD (who probably hasn't slept at all) for Economics and Psychology. Gulp.

Blu, I am just wondering which school was guilty (wouldn't be at all surprised if it was my DC's, not that mine have done DoEGrin)

BD/Cremo, I am amazed that your iPhone 4's are still going - both DD and DH's carked it about a year ago!

motherinferior · 16/05/2016 07:03

Good luck to all examinees!

Auriga, major OUCH.

Best of luck to all taking exams.

Rather a sad day yesterday, clearing aunt's flat. But DH found the old majong set he played with as a child so was v happy, as he thought it had been lost. (Neither of us know how to play properly...). And we found a decreee absolute amongst her papers. She always maintained that she had never divorced her husband, who never turned up again after WWII - but she obviously had! Sad that we will never know the full story.

motherinferior · 16/05/2016 10:05

Oh MM Sad

Rudy, that is a brilliant comparison.

I have conducted a Ladyjog!!! V woolly legs but I got round my little 5.5k circuit (slowly) and am proud of self.

Cremo · 16/05/2016 10:38

Gosh MM that's sad, but intriguing. I mean her husband disappeared in the war, but wasn't declared MIA or anything ? Else why would she need to divorce him?

So sorry that yesterday was hard. FlowersPerhaps you can get a mJong tutorial on line?
Rudy I like your wisteria image rather a lot. Sorry your pathway is strewn. I suspect we all feel that way a bit. Hope your week is better than last.Flowers
Auriga I'm so sorry your back has twanged. You know I understand how this feels. I do hope you can rest and get pain relief in some form. I will avoid metaphors about you 'carrying too much' but you know it can be true.FlowersSad

BTM yes apparently the iphone4 was only meant to last for 2-3 year. I have had mine for 6 and honestly it's been really robust. But had stopped ringing and keeping a charge.
So far loving the new SE BD. Very whizzy and of course easy to set up as all your stuff is on iTunes.
Am I tempting you? I have an iPad mini which means I barely need much of a contract on the phone:
I have 500mb AYCE texts and 200 mins. But you can use the Skype phone or similar when near wifi.
It's £23 which is more than I wanted - my old phone was £10 per month, but hey ho.
Sorry about phone talk. Beyond dull.

Exam households hold fast. It will be over before you know it. FlowersStar

bigTillyMint · 16/05/2016 11:01

Rudy, no wonder you are so slim!

MM, mah-jong must have been a thing back then - my granddad had a set!

Cremo, they made them with a shelf-life of 2-3 years? Well, it is AppleAngry

I think DD may have finished her first exam...

Lalsy · 16/05/2016 11:50

I have an iphone 4 and when they perked it up they said it had plenty of life left. It wouldn't hold charge but turned out not to be a battery but a software problem, that meant it was going round in circles getting exhausted and achieving nothing....I knew the feeling - they sorted it out with gin and a spa day and it is now a happy crepey Smile.

MM, sad but very intriguing. I wonder if you can find out more? lots of records are online now.

Auriga, lovely to see you and so sorry about your back Flowers. And Rudy, brilliant description indeed, look after yourself, and good luck to the teens.

BTM, I hope you have gin supplies ready - sounds like this will be a tough month for you.

Hey, MI, that's terrific. Well done.

magimedi · 16/05/2016 12:10

He vanished after the war - I remember my late MIL hissing at me that "the marriage was never ah.. consumated"!

As far as we know he stayed out in the Far East. I suspect he got married young ( they were both early 20's) & realised he was gay.

motherinferior · 16/05/2016 12:53

Do I want to go on a press trip to Sardinia this weekend?

I think we know the answer, don't we...

bigTillyMint · 16/05/2016 13:46

Do you need a bag-carrier, MI?

magimedi · 16/05/2016 13:57

I can ask for beer and/or wine in Italian.

You need me to come & help Grin

Seriously, I think it would be wonderful for you to get away.

MI fgs Go! It is serendipity.

How interesting, but awful for Aunt, the not knowing, and sense of abandonment. Poor thing.

motherinferior · 16/05/2016 17:06

I'm going. I'm a selfless journalist, me. Grin

magimedi · 16/05/2016 17:10

Your selflessness is amazing Grin

Don't forget your sun glasses!

Lalsy · 16/05/2016 17:11

Good to know the god of press trips is in Sister's pocket Grin. Chuffed for you, MI.

Blu · 16/05/2016 18:43

Sardinia is GORGEOUS, MI.

Cremo · 16/05/2016 18:45

Yes Lalsy.
MI your selflessness knows no bounds. You deserve it big time. Just don't be doing too much journalisting.Smile

So what's for dinner crepes?
Oh crepes , that'd be nice actually.

I can report from Sainsburys that the TU range is very 'busy ' so much pattern it's dizzying. I am guessing this is the fashion: contrasting clashing pieces. My Eyes!!

bigTillyMint · 16/05/2016 18:50

I went to Sardinia with my best mate from school 28 years ago. She has never let me forget that I ditched her (she wanted to visit a castle or something) to lie on the beachGrin

Survived the first day of exams. DS said it was OK but DD is asleep, so I can't ask her unless I wake her up. Do I dare?!
