GiddyGiddyGoat · 30/04/2016 19:49

Err, how did that happen with no one noticing!
It's because we're all on the dark and stormy, sloe gin and prosecco innit.

Sorry for the not v inspired title but I panicked.

I am surrounded by Stuff. Mainly things I keep not throwing away Because You Never Know...

motherinferior · 15/05/2016 15:04

I am the anti-Kondo.

Blackduck · 15/05/2016 15:25

I have too much stuff too ....

Crepes iPhone is clearly dying so thinking about a new phone. Anyone want to convince me their phone is great?

MrsSchadenfreude · 15/05/2016 15:32

I am surrounded by Stuff too. I am refusing to get rid of my foreign books and dictionaries, and will swing for him the next time he asks "Why do you need so many?"

Blackduck · 15/05/2016 15:34

Ask him the same question about his records.......

MrsSchadenfreude · 15/05/2016 15:37

"That's different" apparently, BD.

I am also very upset about rehoming the cat next weekend. He just doesn't get this and tells me to "Stop fucking crying."

Blackduck · 15/05/2016 15:43

. Why is it always different when it's something of theirs?

And Angry for you re lack of sensitivity re cat......

Dp (no big cat lover) framed a pic of ours for me when she died.

herbaceous · 15/05/2016 15:49

I've said it once and I'll say it again, Mrs S: kick him in the slats.

Blackduck · 15/05/2016 15:50

Herbs Grin. But she is right MrsS. Why do you put up with it?

MrsSchadenfreude · 15/05/2016 15:59

I don't know. I am tired of it all - the mess, the chaos, nothing getting done or finished, nowhere to put anything, the constant barbed comments.

herbaceous · 15/05/2016 16:05

If it was your boss treating you the way he treats you, you'd leave your job.

motherinferior · 15/05/2016 16:08

Agree with Herbs.

Blackduck · 15/05/2016 16:38

Agree with Herbs and MI. do you really want to retire with this person?

bigTillyMint · 15/05/2016 17:14

Grin at hole in crotch of onesie!

Just back from DS's final match this season - they have won the league and celebrated with shaken-up bottles of non-alcoholic champagne! BBQ next Sat - their goalie is quitting because he wants to just coach (same club) but I think the rest are planning to stay. CV, is your DS going to stay with the other team?

And the exams start tomorrow - 2 for DD and 1 for DS. Gulp.

Blu · 15/05/2016 17:23

Hello Crepeys! I know I know lots of you, popping in.......MI - BoyBlu was doing DoE practice expedition, too - did Inferiorette 1 go from E Grinstead station? I heard there were a number of S London schools on the campsite!

motherinferior · 15/05/2016 18:07

Hello Blu! Do stay. This is a nice thread.

I believe she went to Dorking (that well known wild spot) but in all honesty have not been paying much attention. She is now back and feeling very sorry for herself.Grin

Lalsy · 15/05/2016 18:30

MrsS, I agree. It just sounds miserable.

BD - have you taken it to an Apple store? They can test the battery and the software and offer fixes - mine has perked up no end just from a reinstall. Another bid for interesting post of the day.

Crem and DB, I am so sorry work nightmares continue.

dd has finished her exams and ds starts this week.

bigTillyMint · 15/05/2016 18:49

BD, just seen that about your phone - I hate apple products and am very happy with my Samsung S5 (had an S3 too!)

Good Luck to all the exam-takers! I am just hoping DD makes it in and stays for the one in the afternoon. She has been revising, she is just so anxiousSad Meanwhile, DS is as cool as a cucumber about his. Thank God!

Rosebag · 15/05/2016 19:44

Hello everyone from another exam house of doom. I am struggling to keep up. I am struggling not to run for the hills. tilly Flowers Sad and commiserations. Your DD will be ok once she gets going I'm sure. Mine is now collapsed listlessly on the sofa watching Alvin and the Chipmunks. DS has done bugger all work today, having been to turn pages for the accompaniest at a choir concert. He also has a bloody cold.

mrsS so sorry about the kitten. Sad I couldn't help but notice the Yiddish phrase book on the top of your pile. There is no better language for cussing offending DHs and other obnoxious individuals. Try telling him "kish mieran tuchus" for starters. Grin

I am dreading having both of them at home from tomorrow except when they're taking exams. No routine, no peace and quiet, no space no watching Netflix in glorious isolation before they get home from school Angry

Dreamqueen · 15/05/2016 20:23

Hope all DC doing exams are successful in them and hoping life isn't too stressful for crepey parents.

Cremo · 15/05/2016 20:27

Well funny you should mention a phone BD. I just upgraded today from my antique iPhone 4 to a new iPhone SE. It's quite nice looking if you like apple and are completely sucked into the whole Apple aesthetic like me my contract is £20 pm with Three.
I can report back. The thing I don't like because I can't understand it is iCloud . Please someone explain why I now have 6 versions of Contacts all listed in my Outlook favourites? 😕

Mrs S So depressed for you re MrS. I'd be there holding your paw when Shitten goes to her new abode. Is she the pink cat? SadFlowers

Rose you are so right re the Yiddish swearing. My dfather is a master of this.

News today is that the French house is on sale. So df and dm lied about keeping it. [glum]

bigTillyMint · 15/05/2016 20:47

Maybe it's for the best Cremo - sounds like they are trying to sort out their finances. It may not sell easily anyway - the French market seems different to ours.

Blu · 15/05/2016 21:02

Ah, probably not the same trip, then, MI. DS and group (and all the other groups) got lost, and according to DS ended up in Crawley - but that cannot possibly be true. Apart from that, which caused them a lengthy detour, he claims it was 'easy'.
Groups from a school half way between yours and mince were told they would be disqualified from the real thing if they play amplified music while they walk again, because it is against the countryside code.
DS did Fri and Sat and has been doing his volunteering today, in a charity shop.

Wine and sympathy to all exam-stricken households.

Cremo · 15/05/2016 21:02

Sigh, suspect you are right BTM.

CointreauVersial · 15/05/2016 21:04

Dorking, MI? She was probably treading in the footsteps of DD1! They ended up camping at High Ashurst, which is only a couple of miles from here as the crow flies.

I'm still chuckling at the image of baby-Strops struggling up Box Hill with her tiny suitcase.

BD - junk the Apple and go Android. More bang for your buck.

Grin at Herbs in her onesie. The DDs are rarely out of theirs (DD1 - teddy bear, DD2 - penguin), and they look mighty cosy, but I wouldn't want to answer the door in one.

Exams start Tuesday here (it's RS tomorrow, but DS opted out of it), with both DD1 and DS having papers at 9am. I predict the stress levels will be through the roof. DS has just told me his calculator doesn't work, and DD1 has lost her pencil case. Angry
