I got the regular length but I am short. I also got one of the cropped cashmere cardigans as they work very well as an additional layer underneath a leather or denim jacket.

JewryMember · 29/04/2016 04:37

Oh niminy, no! That grey frock looks like she's doing penance.

niminypiminy · 29/04/2016 09:39

I love the penitential look, though as I'm going to make it in white linen I expect it'll look like a shroud instead. Smile

Seriously, though, I never come on here to rubbish other people's clothing choices. Much of what other people love I think, well, that brings new meaning to the words 'nothing special'. But what's the point in me saying that? Designers I like include Jil Sander, Yohji Yamamoto, Celine, Marni ... and on the high street a big fan of Cos and Toast. Penitential sacks are my thing, baby. Why rubbish it? The 'if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything' isn't such a bad rule - unless someone is asking for your honest opinion which I wasn't in that case.

TheRollingCrone · 29/04/2016 09:55

I,ve just put a warehouse dress in my basket at Rackhams. It's a navy midi over laid with lace, pleated.(sorry can't do the link thing)

I want it for my dd first holy communion in July. It's a bit boring, but quite plain.I was going to jazz it up with a lime green fifties style card.

I like all the midis in the shops co's I have legs to frighten the horses, but some of them just aren't long enough for me.

Rackhams have 30% off a lot of stuff and free delivery until midnight tonight.

I think a couple of posters mentioned bikinis.

I bought a lovely set from Pour Moi

They often have some on sale

amarmai · 29/04/2016 11:21

Love the sunray skirt! wear it with a light t tucked in or a short boxy structured top not tucked in. OR a body suit or cami .

Oldraver · 29/04/2016 11:28

BeStrong I've just bought this dress from Sainsburys...the colour is much brighter IRL.

If that's not to your taste they have quite a few dresses with proper straps (I feel your pain). Sometimes you can sew wide ribbon over the spaghetti straps but depends on how its made

wiltingfast · 29/04/2016 13:06

Ok, got carried away couldn't decide between 2 lots of peep toe boots, have taken both home for the weekend to try and decide, they are both from Dune (20%off all weekend) this one and this one

Think the second pair are more wearable but the other more glam. Want to wear them out really, any opinions???? Both pretty comfy though the second pair better in that area.

BeStrongAndCourageous · 29/04/2016 14:56

I've just ordered that, thank you OldRaver!

I've just got back from a shopping trip (sans kids, the luxury!) and despite my frustration with all the strappy tops and dresses, I managed to get a couple of pretty silky cami tops from Oasis, and a pinifore-style dress and beach cover up (off to Portugal next week) from Debenhams. Tried on lots of lovely things that sadly my figure didn't work with.

shins · 29/04/2016 15:59

It was fucking snowing yesterday so I put on my duvet style mum-coat, black opaques and boots I've been wearing since November. Feel like eating an entire cake but at least it stops me from shopping - the clothes in the shops right now just look ridiculous. Linen jackets and sleeveless cotton maxis and sandals my arse!

sassytheFIRST · 29/04/2016 17:25

So bored with winter stuff. Am off out this evening. By rights I should be channeling Liz Hurley in white jeans and sandals (esp as recent weight loss means I can get my white jeans ON for 1st time in 3 years) but no, it's tights and boots again. Hmm

MrsCampbellBlack · 29/04/2016 17:55

Oh no Sassy - put the white jeans on - you won't be outside for long! I love a pair of white jeans and well done on the weight loss.

BaBaBaBoomBoom · 29/04/2016 18:24

wilting I much prefer the second pair, but I'm 24 with not much fashion sense!

wiltingfast · 29/04/2016 19:31

Yeah BababaBoomBoom , think i prefer the second pair too!

Hmmmmm.

Huge sales in Dundrum for any Dublin heads btw. HoF seems to have 30% off, Hobbs had 20% off, Karen Millen had 10% I think, Marks had some sort of complicated deal going too....

wiltingfast · 29/04/2016 19:32

Am practically twice your age, but am going to ignore that and assume what's good for you, will be good for me Grin

wiltingfast · 29/04/2016 19:36

Sassy I've brought my white jeans with me this weekend, and I am putting them on, I don't care if it snows!

JohnCheese · 29/04/2016 21:54

Thanks for the bikini link Oldraver. Will look tonight.

Love white jeans. The love isn't reciprocal unfortunately. I keep on loving them (as the song goes), they are very consistent in not loving me back. It's a dysfunctional relationship. I might post in Relationships actually.

shins · 29/04/2016 22:11

Loads of Dubliners here! I'm delighted Other Stories are opening as I love their stuff in theory but in practice it's been disastrous and I've wasted the delivery fee. Like Cos, you really need to try it on.

Oldraver · 29/04/2016 22:14

John Cleese there a to choose from. I bought the Aloha and there are lots of versions from skimpy to those needing more coverage like me

Awks · 29/04/2016 22:27

Ordered these beauties

tethersend · 29/04/2016 22:33

CoconutAmericano · 29/04/2016 22:54
