I saw a white cotton cardi (I am ver' middle-aged) in Sainsburys.
Very tempted because : it's cotton, it has a texture so nice weight to it, no buttons it has press studs so I can pretend it's Chanel-esque.
My DC are teens so I don't need to worry about small children wiping filth on my whites.
Employing the wait 24 hours rule so I'll think until tomorrow and might buy it.

ShinyShinyShiny · 27/04/2016 13:42

Flois I've only had to return once but it was free postage and they refunded me really quickly. Was I just lucky or have they got better I wonder?

Yes, lack of cotton is another thing that makes me angry. Especially in the summer as I hate being all sweaty in man made fabrics. Not a good look.

JohnCheese · 27/04/2016 17:01

This tee arrived. I like it. Just a tee at a fairly hefty price, given that it's very lightweight linen. But I'm keeping it. Love the metallic sheen to it. Will be nice in the sun (hah! That's a good joke) and at night too.

Tanaqui · 27/04/2016 17:04

That tee would look good with the ruched skirt I reckon, but ouch at the price!

If it hangs well Remus, could you go 70s style with cork wedges?

I am in knee high boots and tights again today :(

wiltingfast · 27/04/2016 17:06

How's the Finery dress Mama ? I like the look of it...

FauxFox · 27/04/2016 17:17

I bought a denim maxi skirt off eBay that I have yet to try on but have high hopes for and a breton vest maxi dress from TK Maxx.

I imminently need to find:

  • white fitted T-shirt x 2
  • white converse rip offs
  • navy or red converse rip offs
  • magical work shoes that go with my black midi skirt and are comfy to walk in

I am also in the market for:

  • cropped black work trousers
  • embellished sandals
  • replacement black biker boots for autumn
  • running kit (inc sports bras)
  • new knickers Grin

I am struggling with colour this year for some reason...almost everything I own seems to be black, white, grey or navy...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/04/2016 19:04

I don't think I'm ever going to be a cork wedges type of person, but I did wonder about some wedge espadrilles with ankle ties/straps - am a sucker for an ankle strap!

Have also got my eye on this but would need a code or a sale!

Floisme · 27/04/2016 19:19

That's lovely Remus. Well apart from the length.
And those elbow-showcasing sleeves.
Cheers, Whistles.

RalphSteadmansEye · 27/04/2016 19:28

Remus - that white broderie dress you wished came in other colours at Marks is also half price. I wish I could wear a shift style - I love it in white!

Floisme · 27/04/2016 19:29

Yikes I was talking about my knees/elbows just then - not yours. Sure it'll look great on you Blush

JohnCheese · 27/04/2016 19:56

Nice links. Lovely whistles and finery dresses.

THANKME gets 20% off the tee I bought. Still expensive, but a bit easier with 20% off. Nice tho.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/04/2016 19:58

I think my knees (in tights) and elbows are about acceptable still!

Grrr to white dresses - beautiful but I seem to attract dirt without trying.

MrsCampbellBlack · 27/04/2016 20:27

Love the j crew tee - have ordered and the boden ruched skirt.

Also go through Quidco for extra cashback on j crew and boden.

CoconutAmericano · 27/04/2016 20:32

Pity it has a boob pocket- hate tees with boob pockets! Spent ages looking for a 100% cotton tee shirt the other week (for dog walking!) and ended up with one from millets. Millets!! I do not want to clothes shop in millets! (To be fair was in pretty small town, but there was a new look and a monsoon and a random small department store!)

DailyMailResearcher · 27/04/2016 21:32

Not clothes but I really want some Anastasia make up,mainly her glow kit in gleam... But £££ though....

Silvertap · 28/04/2016 07:08

I've just discovered hush and ordered the ruched skirt mentioned earlier. This is a dangerous thread!

I got some lovely 100% cotton t shirts in gap the other day. Plain colours v neck, they go nicely with jeans.

Floisme · 28/04/2016 07:14

I've been wearing my Boden ruched skirt all week. I may just wear it for the rest of my life. It makes my arse look amazing. That is all.

CaroleService · 28/04/2016 07:20

Is it itchy? The J Crew linen t?

sassytheFIRST · 28/04/2016 07:29

Like the tshirt but really can't do a tit pocket. They draw enough attention to themselves being mahoosive and all. Still, that's £45 saved.

niminypiminy · 28/04/2016 08:02

I'm wearing a neoprene pencil skirt that I made - same shape as the Boden one but without the ruching (which tbh, I don't like) - and it is incredibly flattering. I also made a silver faux-leather one. They cost between them £50 including all the fabric and the pattern (which I can use an infinite number of times).

I'm really fed up with looking for sleeves on the high street, and have stopped looking. I'd rather make something original that actually fits and suits me. Next-stop is a linen sweatshirt-style dress and a scuba material cowl top.
