Good skills bagging that Whistles skirt Floisme

Apparently it's going to be summer by the weekend Shock and I'm rather longing for a pair of blue metallic birkenstocks from Asos, although if money were no object I might go for these from Chie Mihara.

JackandDiane · 03/05/2016 11:29

Good point re belt

Flo - You got it! Love it.

Floisme · 03/05/2016 18:11

Yup. So now you've got to buy the orange skirt Grin

AdoraKiora · 03/05/2016 18:14

Love that Whistles skirt, Floisme.

I can report that I really like the stripy Boden ruched skirt....and it is long enough for me (5'11). Well chuffed. Might wear it towards the end of the week if we really do get legs-bearing weather in London.

Broke my 'no spend til payday' rule on day 2 of the month - oops! - and bought a stripy tube skirt from those purveyors of high fashion at George Grin. Cant go wrong for 8 quid, thats what I say.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/05/2016 18:32

Orange skirt was still a no, even at half price! Gorgeous, but I cba with having to wear heels with it all the time.

wiltingfast · 03/05/2016 20:46

I like those peep toe boots say! Was looking at v similar at the weekend. They were v comfy Smile

Floisme · 03/05/2016 22:02

HeyMacWey I didn't spot your message a few pages back about H&M linen Ts so sorry for not replying and thank you, I'll take a look. It's not like me to miss a trick at H&M!

Dancergirl · 04/05/2016 09:11

Boden has been a bit iffy in recent years but I've seen a couple of things I quite like. This top:

Although I'm not sure it will be flattering, will have to try.

And this playsuit:

Gap dress arrived today. Very pleased.

possible contender for school run dress

KanyesVest · 04/05/2016 15:37

even more impressive with a working link

RalphSteadmansEye · 04/05/2016 16:38

Remus, just been in Sainsbury's and there's a pretty cute orange-red skirt, very similar in cut and fabric to the M and S one. It's more of a blood orange than a pumpkin colour (and it is by Gok...) but it comes in 2 lengths - might be worth a look?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/05/2016 18:23

Thanks, Ralph.

Liking the Gap dress.

JackandDiane · 04/05/2016 19:38

would the swing top be too much with the striped ruched skirt?

HappyMedium · 04/05/2016 19:53

This dress arrived today. Perfect fit. So very me. Delighted with it and can't wait to wear.

Also got these trainers but they're not very comfortable. Will likely return.

HappyMedium · 04/05/2016 20:16

Kaynes, I love that GAP dress....very tempted!

taybert · 05/05/2016 14:47

My stripey ruched skirt and uniqlo stuff have arrived. Skirt is lovely as expected (I've got the other two colours), and that draped tshirt from uniqlo is perfect with it. I look exactly like the woman in that picture linked up thread.... I also got a really nice thick striped tshirt from uniqlo and a couple of summer dresses orange and stripey which aren't a million miles off in style to a couple I had my eyes on in hush that were twice the price. The only thing I'm considering sending back from today's parcels is this denim jacket jacket which I got to put over said tops and dresses if it was a bit chilly but doesn't look quite right in a way I am struggling to define. Then part of me thinks it's not very expensive and it'll do the job so I might as well keep? I may ask the opinion of the husband on his return from work.

CointreauVersial · 05/05/2016 18:11

Taybert - jacket looks nice, although quite cropped. They are Very Useful Items. I have a nice Gap one which I bought in the charity shop which gets wheeled out every summer.

I'm chuffed to bits - last year I was stalking this Jack Wills shirt - it was too expensive at full price, then as soon as it went into the sale my size sold out. But one in my size randomly popped up on eBay and it's now on its way to me. Yay!

JackandDiane · 05/05/2016 18:32

oh god keep the jacket - you rarely wear them for long anyway IMHO

glad t shirt is fine! i ordered this am

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 05/05/2016 18:39

I like that JW shirt.

Denim jacket looks okay, but agree maybe a bit too cropped. You could probably find one you like more, in a similar price range.

Dancergirl · 05/05/2016 19:27

I'm loving my Hush striped ruched skirt Smile

OnlyHereForTheCamping · 05/05/2016 19:39

splitter!

Wagglebees · 05/05/2016 20:25

Did you size up Dancer? I got the short ruched skirt a while ago and the waist is tiny. I can get away with it but it's not exactly comfortable. I think I got the S/M and I'm a size 10.

taybert · 05/05/2016 21:03

I think it is the croppedness which isn't quite right. I shouldn't have bothered with the petite fit. I think I will send it back and keep my eyes open for a better one. Also just noticed that the useful uniqlo cardigan jacket has a tenner off so might nab myself a navy one too.
