Oh dear Herbs. DH was throwing up all night - I had to get up at 2 to make the spare bed up for him so I could get some sleep! Not sure if he has picked up the bug from DM. He has, however gone valiantly on another trip to the tip whilst I am starting to feel a bit ropey...

MI, I don't envy the counsellor!

NU and MrsS enjoy Majorca - maybe a mini-MU?

Now waiting for BHF to come and take some furniture...

motherinferior · 07/04/2016 11:09

DSis says they just lied at the family therapy. And that my father has exasperated even his sister the nun (sis has never seen AuntNun exasperated before) by his refusal to think of counselling for himself...

She also says v bracingly that it would be MADNESS to start researching alternative provision now.

Herbs, stay home. Resort to screens for DS, and have a bath (my sovereign remedy - DD1 points out I ALWAYS suggest a bath, and I'm not even a frequent bather) if you can. (If you adopt me/Molly/Magi we will look after you at moments like this, you know.)

I have Majorca envy.

Run247 · 07/04/2016 11:10

Excuse my ignorance but what is "crepe" referring to?

motherinferior · 07/04/2016 11:11

I do have showers, btw. Quite often.

Cremo · 07/04/2016 11:14

Oh Herbs you poor thing! What did you eat that caused it? I have had food poisoning and I know you start to hallucinate that you are going to dieSad keep boking and get it out of system , then lots of gently sipped water as soon as your poor tummy can bear it. Oh dear it so awful. My sympathies. Can anyone else take ds? Thanks

NU you are doing an incredible job sustaining the whole family for this length of time. I can't imagine you have had any time to yourself at all recently. You did make me snigger though when you said you went to 'the Midlands' but also went on a day trip to the Isle of Wight. Surely they are miles apart?? Is my geography all wrong? Grin You will be ready for a bath chair by the time you get to Mallorca. ThanksGrin

BTM, I genuinely hope you and ds do not have the virus that I have just had. It is most unpleasant and nasty. Fingers crossed sick feelings pass quickly. Thanks

Mrs S , do what Dh does. Take the work phone happily and with good grace , and then leave it under the bed at home by mistake. It is not top drawer hanky to ask you to be available during your leave of absence. Fuck 'em.Wink

MI, good luck to the counsellor. I am imagining a great expanse of embarrassing silences.Hmm

Today I am mostly Not Buying Things off of The Internet

Hi run247 , the Crepe in the title refers to the word 'Crepey '. We describe ourselves as being crepey as time has started to take its toll and we are all of approx 45+ and like to chat about everything style related that fills our lives and that we can think of
You are very welcome to jump on!Smile

Herbs - last night DH threw up spectacularly after DD1's curry. Everybody else was fine. Closer inspection of the mango chutney jar shows that it might have expired sometime in 2015 Blush. He was sick just once and then seemed fine.

NU - welcome back - you deserve your holiday after sterling family feeding work.

We are having one of those days where it's sunny and cold outside and boiling in the school. I can feel myself starting to get sweaty!

I like the shopping bags in in the Liberty Range at Uniqlo.

herbaceous · 07/04/2016 11:34

My recovery is in a wave pattern. Fine for a bit, then stomach cramp. But the general trajectory is upwards. A friend did offer to take him, but in a moment of recovery I said I'd do it. There are toilets.

There hasn't been an emission since about 9, so I'm hoping the worst is now over. I'll have a spot of Dioralyte - always a magic cure.

Cremo · 07/04/2016 11:52

Blimey Herbs, you are a trooper! Let's hope it's all 'up' and nothing much more to come. Cream crackers and water only though.ShockSmile I hope someday DS gazes at you and says 'Mum, you are The Best Mum in the world'Grin

Am I the only person thinking 2015 sounds rather recent? Blush

Herbs, your reward will come. My sluggish sluggards are still abed. I'm going out for lunch and leaving them to it.Smile

Blackduck · 07/04/2016 12:12

Batty it is one of those shopping bags I have (the MU can attest to it).... It is huge...

I had eggs royale for breakfast but ds and I need to perfect our Michel Roux poaching technique....

MI I too thought 2015 was recent Grin

Herbs rather you than me........!

Here joint account is set up (blimey we'll be getting married next) and now the tedious moving of direct debits commences....

Blackduck · 07/04/2016 12:13

Batty?!? Sorry Hatty :)

Rosebag · 07/04/2016 13:13

Urrrrrgh...you lot. Herbs and various DH's....wanting to show sympathy and concern and ward you all off at the same time..... Be well, damn you. Herbs stop stressing about DS. You provide an outstanding and wonderful programme of outings, culture and non screen alternatives and put most of us to great shame. You need to rest and recover Flowers Can you identify what it was you ate, or is it just a bug.... I will deputise for Sister. Rehydrate, Immodium for bad bottom, peppermint tea or diet coke for honking up, dry toast, crackers, chickens and rice. Hourly obs by Crepey Medical and Nursing team.
self confessed hater of family days out

MI I think a lot of people lie in therapy and counselling sessions. It's the sign of a good counsellor if they can see through it and challenge at just the right moment....

NU I have been asking about you! You are a saint, and deserve your sojourn in Majorca. Along with MrsS another uniquely deserving person, for some R&R. Maybe you should try meeting up!!

A morning of number crunching with ConS....which I am a complete dunce at, but definite progress made. Have decided to look into trying Crowd Funding. Do any Crepeys have experience of this? Am now going to set up class for tonight. I am somewhat Hmm Angry that the booker has added 2 late bookings who have missed the first class, and want to join tonight. I don't actually mind, except the booker gets a fee per booking, but my fee stays the same whether I teach a group of 10 or a group of 14. Gah Boo

Rosebag · 07/04/2016 13:15

err...flat Coke and chicken soup, that should say

herbaceous · 07/04/2016 16:12

I am back, and lying on the sofa. Just spent three hours mainly in the cold, while DS played in the mud with his oldest chums. Now everything aches from the waist down. All emissions were of the downward nature, so my innards are probably battered. I have a coke to drink. No food. I guess it's like an involuntary fast day.

Cause of problem was a takeaway Lebanese that we've had many times before. But this time we went for the kofte. As I was eating it I thought something was odd, but put it down to unusual spicing. Both DP and I woke feeling ropey. He had to go to work! On the tube!

bigTillyMint · 07/04/2016 16:41

Herbs, you deserve a medal!

Rose, my cuz did crowd-funding to buy a new piece of equipment for his business. Don't know the details though.

BD, why the move to joint account?

We are on the M1. Roadworks all the way, though I have napped most of it - feeling distinctly ropey too. Spoke to DM/Nursing Home this morning - she seems to be recovering but was a bit emotional with me. They are still on shutdown so we couldn't visit/take her anything in. Feeling very drained, but house is clear of stuff - just got to get the furniture cleared (BHF only want pristine looking furniture, which I understand) but we have handed the keys to DHs choice of EA. As far as I'm concerned, they are all as bad as each other.

Blackduck · 07/04/2016 16:52

To pay the bills BTM...

bigTillyMint · 07/04/2016 16:59

Grin Well yes! But you must have a current system for paying them?
DH and I have had our own accounts plus a joint account for paying the bills years - works for us!

motherinferior · 07/04/2016 17:12

We have a complicated network of bank accounts (I have a business and a personal one as well as the joint one) thanks partly to DP's attitude to money. He's never met a fiver he didn't want to spend.

Just informed DP that as we have lots of hummus, feta, olives, salad, taramaslata, pitta, falafel etc this seems like a good idea for supper (ie the sort of supper I like). He did that Hmmmmm thing on the phone. Ha. He knows (all too well) where the cooker is…

Blackduck · 07/04/2016 17:21

We have separate accounts and did a 'you pay for that, I'll pay for this'. But it's got a tad inequitable of late, and plus there's ds's stuff so rather than rejig a load of direct debits between us it seemed sensible to bite the bullet, open a joint account and put all the DDs on that...... Like Mr MI, Mr BD has never met a fiver he wouldn't like to spend AND he keeps no track of his spending (we do not need to pay poll tax until July because he's overpaid it!!). So no wpay are we sharing a single account - my blood pressure wouldn't take it :)

Rosebag · 07/04/2016 17:21

No joint account here. Never again. (Had bad experience in a former life.)

Herbs you are a trooper. You couldn't prize me away from my bathroom if I felt like that.

Tilly this all sounds like stress, but if you got the house cleared you've done amazingly Flowers I do hope the roads improve and you get back sooner rather than later.

Love humous, pitta, felafel etc. Brilliant supper MI Tell him he can have the falafel balls hot if he wants... Grin

DS2 and DD usually have pizza when I work on Thurs nights. I just happened to mention that there was a lovely, home cooked shepherds pie if they preferred. They settled for the pizza Hmm

herbaceous · 07/04/2016 17:21

Still on sofa, under a blanky. Feel v cold. May have to have MI-endorsed bath. DS is on the computer, and has been for an hour. I don't care.

magimedi · 07/04/2016 17:23

My favourite supper - if I bring Wine can I come round? Grin

Went to see DH's aunt today - long drive to get to hospital & she is very, very frail. Pneumonia & kidney infection. Lovely, small ward, lovely nurses, wonderfully clean & was being helped to eat her lunch which was good to see. But I don't think she's got much longer.

BTM - you have done wonders - I remember how very draining that process was.

magimedi · 07/04/2016 17:24

Sympathy to Herbs - don't know how you managed to get out feeling like that.

Computer and/or TV won't hurt DS one bit. You just rest & get well asap.

herbaceous · 07/04/2016 18:32

Ooh me kidneys. Sitting with my back pressed against the radiator.
