MI - night carers made a huge difference to my mother's quality of life when my Ddad was in his last few weeks. In fact, they were the best people we dealt with. They were lovely, sat with him, sorted him out and took my mother toast and tea in the morning.

My Colleague told me that I am getting a much better appraisal than I thought I would. I think he intervened, although he wouldn't say. And he is going to be my new line manager. Confused I said I wasn't sure that would work. He agreed, and said we would have to make it work.

bigTillyMint · 22/04/2016 21:47

Is this your Wink colleague, MrsS?

MrsSchadenfreude · 22/04/2016 21:50

Yes, BTM. THAT ONE. Blush

CointreauVersial · 22/04/2016 22:04

Yikes, MrsS! I was just following a thread yesterday about someone who'd slept with her boss - it seems to have been deleted now.

Thinking of you, MI. Have a relaxing weekend, BD.

Blackduck · 23/04/2016 07:34

MrsS :) Hmm Confused. That will either be wonderful or a bloody disaster!

Surely be good to have a decent line manager?

MI how's things?

motherinferior · 23/04/2016 07:48

Suppresses thoughts of indecent manager...

Well. I slept pretty damn well, and the night sitter (we have the service for three days and then they review but I think it's likely to continue) was terrific - even mum said "nice woman"'so she was clearly great.

In the weird alternative world of dying, I find myself thinking "oh, she's not too bad today". Told her it was Shakespeare's birthday and she said slightly dismissively "oh, they give different dates".

bigTillyMint · 23/04/2016 07:51

MI, that all sounds positive. Well as positive as things can beSmile

MrsSShock But yes, he surely has to be an improvement on your recent managers!

Cremo · 23/04/2016 08:05

Oh mrs S, I sense ishoos and awkwardness perhaps. It might work very well if the lusting part dissipates and you can both make it into a Damn Fine working partnership.Grin

I have a 12 hour shift today that I have zero energy for. Aaaargh !Angry

MI, we had lovely night nurses for dmum, who just quietly sat in the room, knitting. Very peaceful.....

Your mum was right, it's the 400th anniversary of Will S's death Smile

Does this mean the beer goggles of lust will be on after every team meeting, Mrs S? Still, you might look forward to going to work more.

I've had a terrible nights sleep, but in one section that I did sleep, I dreamt that BTM drove past me in a Massive rose gold Mercedes. It was the biggest, shimmery pinkist car I'd ever seen. Quite extraordinary.

Blackduck · 23/04/2016 08:24

God Cremo that sounds tough!

Beachy :). I can see BTM in that!

bigTillyMint · 23/04/2016 08:57

Oooh yes, I can definitely see myself in thatSmile

12hour shift Cremo? Eeeek! Is that the norm?

motherinferior · 23/04/2016 09:07

Now sorting out who is authorised to deal with her stoma bag. Why do I have to do this? Why? I didn't sign on for this dutiful daughter lark.

Well done Rudy - power to the Crepes!

DS put a new battery in the bathroom scales last night and then insisted everyone got weighed (including DDs friend) and did our BMIsShock I am comfortably within normal BMI, but a stone heavier than 5 years ago and feeling very wobbly in all the wrong places Confused so I am currently sitting in crepetastic JL with a large slab of chocolate fudge cake wondering why!

Blackduck · 23/04/2016 12:21

Rudy you know we are here for you!
I am not sure at the moment how next weekend is panning out but if I'm still in London Saturday afternoon I'm up for a dark and stormy!

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 23/04/2016 12:33

Here's to you, Rudy Thanks Smack it to them....

I am feeling very hormonal today, probably just due to lack of sleep and an unexplained achy arm.

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/04/2016 12:35

Rudy - Crepetic, surely? Grin Glad things are on the up for you. Put that bra on your head and glare at those demons.

I don't think there will be ishoos or awkwardness. We just need to stay away from the drink...

motherinferior · 23/04/2016 13:27

That's easily done, then.Grin

Cremo · 23/04/2016 13:46

Piece of piss Mrs S.Wink

Yes 12 hours often normal for a big all day event. Im on my 4th double espresso ( v bad). And very tired.

Rudy , pet, I don't know what's going on, but demons sounds appallingly stressful and scary. If you fancy a silly chat for light relief do Pm me. In fact anyone who fancies a silly chat contact me. I could do with a laugh, as I am giddy with adrenaline .Confused

Do you actually fancy this bloke MrsS ? Grin Grin Grin

rudy you sound like a very courageous crepey and whatever the demons were, I take my hat off to you.

Mi Flowers perhaps the need for dealing with DMs bag is getting less and less if DM is taking no nourishment. It's really a job for the carers I guess if they're around. I'm glad the night carers are lovely and that you got some sleep.

I am very run down. We started the festival yesterday, which in addition to being nemesis for my diet, saw us at at DBros for the service last night. They insisted on starting very late and we were still eating the meal at 10.45. Shock And that's only half way through proceedings. Got home long after midnight, and now I have another one of my headaches. I have made a matzo pudding in addition to the potato flour chocolate cake. Service tonight is with BFF and family which will be much more relaxed and we're starting it at 6.30. I miss Ddad. It's our first Passover without him. Sad

Rosebag · 23/04/2016 14:17

Ps I have chopped my hair off. It's a just below chin length geometric bob. I like it and wanted a change. It hasn't been universally well received, though. DD said it was a bit 'old lady'. Hmm

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/04/2016 14:28

Rose, that's a very good question. He is absolutely not my type at all, but we get on so well. He makes me happy, and having him around improves my working day no end.

bigTillyMint · 23/04/2016 14:56

Ooh Rose, hope to see pix on FB as this is an S&B thread Wink

MrsS, step away from the article in the Guardian online today!

I have an S&B haul. A tea dress from Laura Ashley (60% off, which brought it to a reasonable price) which is not on the website, this skirt and uniqlo.com/uk/store/goods/175596 this shirt plus this Tshirt and these converse. I also got DD some new socks in the Kids department of M&SGrin and a free Clinique mascara and a few other beauty bits. So there.

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/04/2016 16:07

I am sitting in the caff at M & S reading that article, BTM. I think the key thing, if you are going to go that route are that you should never tell anyone, ever, and you need to both be in the same situation ie it would be mad for a married man who just wanted a bit on the side to have it with a single woman.
