I think page 2 was my fault MrsS. I killed the thread Blush but it sounds lovely there Envy Try to unwind. Sod work.

Love and Flowers to all those grieving and feeling sad for DParents and others. This is the only place where I can share how I feel. Everyone else has moved on.

WAF it must be a it lonely in a horrible hotel so far from home. Glad things feel cautiously optimistic re DH. Small steps. It's a hard road and so many people don't even make the effort that you're putting in xx

Yes lots of links rudy please. This reminds us that we are a style and beauty forum sometimes. Is anyone getting fed up with all the cropped and ankle grazer trousers around at the moment. I like being able to roll trousers and jeans up, but would much rather have full length except in the summer... Hmm and I have good ankles!,!

motherinferior · 11/04/2016 12:22

I like crops.

I am currently out of love with both my haircut and my very expensive new glasses Grin.

Mrs S was apparently sipping a frivolous cocktail MID MORNING. [green]

herbaceous · 11/04/2016 12:28

I don't like crops, as I have tree-trunk ankles which are then framed twixt shoe and trouser.

motherinferior · 11/04/2016 12:38

IT's green. I'm Envy

herbaceous · 11/04/2016 12:45

In Aged Pet news, our cat - who is already mad and deaf - now seems to be leaking wee. I'm hoping this is a) not a sign of something Grim, an b) easily sorted. I otherwise forsee difficult discussions...

herbaceous · 11/04/2016 12:51

MI - I think we need pics of both barnet and bins so we can judge.

Rosebag · 11/04/2016 13:06

1970's...Purdey haircut. Triumph TR7. The beautiful David Cassidy. Demo labelling thingy. Jackie Magazine. French skipping.

Rosebag · 11/04/2016 13:07

Dymo....even autocorrect doesn't remember it....

bigTillyMint · 11/04/2016 13:08

Most trousers are crops on me!

Oh dear Herbs - fingers crossed.

motherinferior · 11/04/2016 14:33

No really, am in recoil.

magimedi · 11/04/2016 14:58

Green shield stamps. Embassy cigarette coupons.

Summer of 76 - which I am so hoping will be repeated this year!

Aunt is now calmer & taking medication. DH's bother is visiting today, so will know more later.

Not envious of Mrs S in the sunshine - no, not one bit. Grin

magimedi · 11/04/2016 14:59

He is a bother, but I meant brother.

bigTillyMint · 11/04/2016 15:04

Summer of 76 - which I am so hoping will be repeated this year!

I hope this every year!

GiddyGiddyGoat · 11/04/2016 15:13

MI, in the manner of Abigails Party - "look in the mirror and say to yourself, 'I am Beyootiful'". I can't comment on the hair (as haven't seen it) but the new glasses really are lovely - and suit you. Inspired by my tales of our adventures my dh went off to the same shop and ordered himself some new specs last week!

Don't most people feel their relationships with nearest and dearest are difficult / odd / not like other people's?? Or is that just me.... ?

Took ds1 back to University on Saturday . I'm glad he's there and seems to be managing everything without too much difficulty... but I also like it when he's loafing about the house even if I don't see that much of him. I'm still v aware of his absence, more so than of his presence when he's here iyswim...

Rudy! Greetings. Lovely to see you - and yes please to s and b links.

motherinferior · 11/04/2016 15:44

I am unspeakably beeyootiful, just tired and grumpy.

I might cook a Nice Curry for tonight. A garlicky one with eggs.

motherinferior · 11/04/2016 15:49

And a friend of my mum's is pestering me for the kind of day to day update I don't know and then feel guilty for not knowing. I ended up by pointing out again that I don't see her every day. I will have to reinstate the note at the end of my regular email.Angry

The thing is, as DP points out, most of this lot do not know I rarely spoke to my parents for a couple of decades. I felt sick at the prospect of visiting them. Especially my dad but my mum too. So suddenly being supportive bloody daughter is an advance however distant I seem to be.

Lalsy · 11/04/2016 16:21

MI, you can only do what you can do. It must be so hard if other people do not understand the reality of your relationship with your dps - but equally, you could be on site, and not have much meaningful in your updates. It just isn't much of a spectator sport....I wouldn't go and stay yet, I don't think.

And Flowers for everyone else dealing with these issues too.

S and B - no, WAF, just waiting for some freelance payments then I will splurge!

Pretty sure my relationship is odd - other people have said so Grin.

MrsS have a wonderful time.

Soda streams were the height of my childhood sophistication.

motherinferior · 11/04/2016 16:23

YES. Soda streams!

I have made the basis of a blissfully garlicky egg, spinach and tomato curry. Wish the sodding sun would come out. It was lovely when I did my morning Ladyjog (and then pulled my knee doing the cooldown stretch Blush).

magimedi · 11/04/2016 16:36

I want to come to dinner (again) please MI.

I have a S & B question for you all.

Do you think these fit over sunglasses would look totally crazy?

I wear my glasses 24/7 & whilst I do have a pair of prescription sunglasses I find it a real pain to have to change glasses all the time when it is bright & sunny. I think I'd probably oinly use them on holiday - it's a hassle to have to take of sunglasses & put on ordinary specs every time you go inside. It would be lovely just to take the sunnies off & have my normal specs in place.

Opinions? (I've linked to an general image page so you can have an idea of the look)

Whilst the summer of 76 was fantastic, I personally do not want a repeat as I was pregnant with DS and the thought of being preggers at my age ... Shudders. The fire brigade turned up the day I was due as the hedge to the big house behind us caught fire.

With regard to losing one's parents, my DM died when I was 23 and the loss always stays with you: even now, over 40 years later, I could still weep when I think of her. Hugs to everyone feeling low.

Just having a cup of tea before finishing the packing: we have to leave the house before five am, but this time tomorrow I will be sitting in the sun. The weathe for Majorca for the next week looks good.

herbaceous · 11/04/2016 17:13

Hmmmm. While they do look terribly practical, I think they do also scream mental.

My friend and I took a motoring holiday back in the 90s. In the seclusion of the car she put her sunglasses over her normal specs, and called it 'DuoSpecs'. They would vibrate and make an amusing noise in a high wind.

Oh yes. Sodastreams. But they've made a comeback now, haven't they... Also, foul dessert toppings, such as Tip Top, or Birds Dream Topping. Or, as I called it, Birds Team Dropping.

There's something about the idea of egg curry that makes me feel odd.

NUFC69 · 11/04/2016 17:15

MM, DH and I both have the lenses which change with the light (can't remember which type) - they are fantastic.

motherinferior · 11/04/2016 17:19

I rather like them!

motherinferior · 11/04/2016 17:23

Herbs, I can assure you it's delicious. If you like hardboiled eggs. Well, I think it's delicious. I realise I'm not everyone.

magimedi · 11/04/2016 17:27

Herbs - You are in the same camp as DH & DS!!

MI - the only trouble with reactolite lenses is that they don't come in polaroid & I like polaroid as it gets rid of the glare.
