WWW's Six Week Younger Boot Camp for 2007 - January to half term, week ONE

Right, here we go!

For those of you who don't rememeber the rules, this is about feeling better about yourself so is not necessarily a diet per se but it is for six weeks, starting tomorrow.

The Rules

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. I'm going for hard core 6 weeks of no drinking but the odd glass of wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can, I am booking out lunch hours where possible to do this
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible. I am doing my heels daily too as they're lizard like
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy
  • Have more sex (if it makes you happier to do so)

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

You don't have to report back every day but I almost certainly will as it motivates me thinking someone is watching me.

Who's in?

WWW I was going to say
you must be about 12 by now the number of these threads you have done..

SnafuOutOfHiding · 01/01/2007 20:46

Hang on, have just re-read thread title.

Are we only supposed to end up looking 6 weeks younger?? All this effort and I'll just end up looking the way I did last November? Pah!

WideWebWitch · 01/01/2007 20:48

I've just notied that too Snafu I knew it looked wrong!

OK, it's

WWW's Six Week Ten Year Younger Boot Camp etc etc

Fuck, I don't want to look like I did six weeks ago, although, otoh, that was waaaay before all the Christmas excess...

OP posts:
Blossomhill · 01/01/2007 20:51

Count me in.

Do I have to put sunscreen on just my face and neck?

WideWebWitch · 01/01/2007 20:53

Just exposed body parts. Although I need to buy some, I have run out.

OP posts:
SnafuOutOfHiding · 01/01/2007 21:02

That's better.

Lord knows, November's not my most glowingest month at the best of times

swedishmum · 01/01/2007 23:02

We've just booked half term in Tenerife with children and in-laws so this is perfect for me! Mil is always co-ordinated and immaculately turned out and I am fat, frumpy and crumpled. I'll be very determined from tomorrow. Walking will benefit me and the dog. Just removing all temptation from the wine rack tonight....

Skribble · 01/01/2007 23:05

Ok I have all the lotions I need, I just need to start going to bed earlier., I will just finish this drink first , but I am up for this.

Skribble · 01/01/2007 23:06

I thought it was a boot camp for babies at first [hehe].

sunnywong · 01/01/2007 23:09

Suzywong sits back to skim thread while breakfasting on home-made birchner museli - the whole oat and wheatgerm soaked in OJ over night and dressed with prunes, blueberries, almonds, walnuts and yogurt - and a glass of green tea with 40 minutes of yoga practice under her belt already.

Glad you've resurrected this concept, I shall be behind everyone all the way

caffeinequeen · 01/01/2007 23:19

I'd like to join this too. - Am going away at end of Feb so hoping to really lose some poundage and generally be more glam.

Snafu - I like the diary idea too. The other advantage of this also being that it can help you not feel so much like every groundhog day turns into groundhog week..etc.
Have managed to avoid snacking all day today - which is a big deal for me though made some of MarsLadys LDcake and had a piece after dinner which was veg stirfry.

sunnywong · 01/01/2007 23:22

but snacking is OK as long as it's not processed crap or food we know is bad for us

I read the Manifesto and I picked up on the Kindness thing. I often go to bed regretting not having been kinder during the day.
And the foot I used to kicke old ladies' sticks from under them does tend to throb slightly

WideWebWitch · 01/01/2007 23:30

Sw, well you've helped me on the 'you must larf, it's good for you' part of that manifesto although I'm not sure they meant me to be larfing at you kicking old ladees

OP posts:
Skribble · 02/01/2007 00:00

OK midnight, I am going to bed .

StarrmumofRoyalBeautyBright · 02/01/2007 01:08

Yes please!

Have aleady pledged to give up alcohol for Jan, but may revert to weekend treats after that.

WideWebWitch · 02/01/2007 07:19

RIGHT, Good Morning. I am having Granola for breakfast and heating up 3 bean soup to take to work in a Thermos for lunch. I will also be taking a bag of apples to work for snacking.

This is DAY ONE and it was bloody hard getting up for work, first time in 11 days. And dd is still asleep, sob! (Ds with his dad).

I'm expecting reports later from you. Have a good day!

sunnywong · 02/01/2007 07:35

Good morning WWW, are you off to be Very Busy and Very Important again?

Can I chime in with Green Tea? Vital in the quest for youthfulness and spring in step. Very cleansing and diuretic and all.

Good Luck to you (is that what you like me to say or is there more to that phrase?)

yes and dandelion is even better, but tastes rank, as it makes you pee like a demon and gets rid of bloating.

Monkeytrousers · 02/01/2007 10:03

Thinking of giving up dairy too - anyone else recommend it?

fullmoonfiend · 02/01/2007 10:42

ok, so had porridge for brekkie and some melon, and some hot water with lemon. But then got to work and it's so horrid, and I'm so poorly I've just eaten 10 Roses...

jampots · 02/01/2007 11:55

monkeytrousers - i gave up dairy due to an intolerance - i feel loads better now. I have soya milk and Pure spread on a sandwich (rare) or in cooking.
