I've never had thrush. Natural pants on skin, followed by wool or modal tights, then a control pant that can be non natural fabric as it's not touching the skin.

A great tip if you're wearing a tunic with tights/leggings. Buy matching coloured shiny granny pants. The shine stops your tunic sticking to your bum, and stops your leggings / tights falling down. If you buy the tummy control ones, even better!

cold I don't even bother with leggings for anti-thigh rub. Cheap as chips multi-pack tights do the same trick.

I have also always done the pants-tights-pants thing - it was definitely the in thing at school (in the late 80s/early 90s).

Emwithme don't the tight roll right up when you cut them off though? I tried it once and they ended up right by the knicker line so didn't help at all where are the cut off leggings just roll a couple of mm.

Someone up the thread mentioned dragons den. A few years ago in sure there was someone trying to get an investment for tights braces and they were more or less laughed out of the den. Maybe they exist now?!

I've not done the pants thing as mine don't seem to need adjusting that much.

But I wore socks under my tights today after reading it upthread somewhere. Feet nice and toasty today! I'll be doing that one again.

I don't wear skirts or dresses much but when I do I wear my tiny sports shorts under them. If I'm not wearing tights I feel more confident knowing that I won't flash anyone even if it's windy or if I have an accident (I'm super clumsy), and over tights they ensure they stay up. I like the idea of men's boxer shorts though or just a big pair of ladies' boxer-style shorts. Might try and find some cheap ones and invest and try to get myself to wear skirts and dresses more.

Never had thrush in my life. Still swear by this method :)

I remember people doing this in the early 70's but they wore knickers over and under. OK though, if not thrush, don't you get sweaty?

I do it all the time :) Just wear black knickers then it looks like your tights. Noone should ever see though.

Discovered them two summers ago whilst despairing over ever wearing a skirt again due to fat thighs or tights in the winter due to a fat bottom

I wear tights then pants only, so no pants underneath, I only wear them for twelve hours then washed so I don't the see the big difference between doing it the other way round (pants then tights) hygiene wise. I actually have always been prone to thrush and have not had one incidence since doing this 5 days a week for over a year.

Thigh rub means I do this in summer too, just with nude tights instead. It works, it's sort of great, I just wish there was a more elegant solution.

I was trying to think of an alternative and could only come up with the afore mentioned dragons den braces for tights idea. And that be would a nightmare when going for a wee.

Seriously if someone can invent tights that stay up with no ankle wrinkles, they would be a millionaire just from me buying all their stock.
