OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 13/01/2016 11:55

glad you are feeling better blingy outfit sounds very snuggly

my OOTD is grey acid wash velveteen skinnies, burgundy pixie boots, burgundy and white harry potter baseball tee, and white, grey, pink and burgundy fairisle wool cardigan. oh and a black woven belt to keep my trousers up! the pains of having a small waist compared to your hips! will add grey wool and cashmere long coat, blue wool scraf, black wool hate and black leather gloves when i got out shortly.

maradesbois · 13/01/2016 12:33

Hello,

Thanks for new thread QueenC

One belated happy birthday for yesterday, hope you had a lovely day.

lib love the grey skirt, don't think you have to wear autumn colours head to toe. I know they suit me too but couldn't limit myself especially for shoes and agree that workwear would be difficult, autumn shades seem more casual somehow although I think Italian men manage to do brown shoes with navy suit very well!

My ootd is all wool like Blingy, khaki theory cashmere dress, thick opaques and black tod's brogues then black b prorsum wool coat and grey lp cashmere scarf. I never usually feel cold enough for this dress but is lovely and cosy today.

Blingy glad you're feeling a bit better, take it easy today. Have a bling question for you, tanzanite v's sapphire what is the difference and which do you prefer? Have a big birthday this year and would love a blue stone ring. Not like Kate's Diana ring though, probably just stone on its own but a big bastard Grin Dh doesn't know this yet, it's an idea in the developmental phase atm!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 13/01/2016 13:47

Hello all

It's a woolly day here too, wearing navy J crew pencil, tan Gap merino crew neck, opaques and shoe boots, pea coat. Only jewellery is pearl studs, ring and watch.

Did a nice bit of handbag spotting in Waitrose just now: lovely vintage tan Chanel crossbody, grey Hermes Evelyne, grey Saint Laurent sac du jour, and a black Balenciaga City. I looked at the wearers for other signs of expensiveness but I'm still not sure what those are Grin

Blingy hope you're taking it as easy as you can at work, glad you feel better.

Lovely buys Lib, are the Toast things for work?

AmberNectarine · 13/01/2016 14:02

OOTD Is my interpretation of preppy (i.e. Not very) - buttoned up black cashmere crew neck cardi (over heattech top), big houndstooth print a line mini, black opaques and Charlotte Olympia kitty flats. Wearing my rose gold Alex Monroe shrimp necklace today, which DH bought me for our anniversary a few years ago. Black cashmere gloves and hat (both Johnstons) and black shearling snood (Me&Em) for the Baltic temperatures.

KittyHello · 13/01/2016 14:06

Gosh Blair the customers at your Waitrose are far more chic than mine, just popped to mine just now and the best I could see was a Mulberry Antony, actually it's a lot better at the weekend.

Mara ring sounds lovely.

Just been reading the expensive thread comments on fb on the Mumsnet page Hmm each to their own I suppose.

Larastheme · 13/01/2016 14:18

Happy birthday one,

Lovely buys lib,

blair that sounds like the waitrose in our area Grin, I cry a bit inside every time someone mentions waitrose, I miss it ,loads!

I haven't done an OTTD,in awhile, here it goes: chloe grey cashmere turtleneck, chloe blue wool swing jacket, R&B jeans, and hermes black jumping boots, and ancient LP grey scarf, ,

I did some shopping too,I got a wattsapp message from a local boutique last night saying that they are having %50-60 off chloe and marant ,set camp at coffe place nearby at their door after SL, got ,this turtleneck chloe sweater, I love their fit, normally avoid turtlenecks but they fit nicely, and these trousers, these are my third chloe pair Blush the fit is so good, and very easy to wear inspite of them being flares , but ofcourse they had to take a few inches off, too long

More to come, but can't link incase I lose entire post,

Larastheme · 13/01/2016 14:33

these boots ,had them in mind for like ever, and they solve the gap for good option of flat boots ,plus I need boots with gold hardware,on the plus side they are 50%off, and they look nice, but feel guilty buying them, they told me to take them home and think about it, but they know I live a bit far,and its a faff driving into town to return Blush,

And my god, this is absloutely gorgous, ive finally seen this IRL, but I have no idea how to wear it, its too chunky to wear with coat or trench coat, too cold to wear it now with none! and if it warms up a bit,its too hot to wear Confused, I guess these are one of those items that you wear on fashion week, next month with a floaty skirt and try not to show how cold you are!

shopafrolic · 13/01/2016 14:41

Blingy take it easy today please
One I didn't realise you and Sleep shared a birthday. Happy Birthday for yesterday
I've just been visiting the lovely Sleep and grabbed brunch with her. We went to Anna and checked out the sale and I came away with a couple of purchases at 70% off (she's a bad influence :) )
this faux fur scarf. Never to be worn with my faux fur coat!
and this coatigan which looks much better on than in the pic.
This was also lovely on but the other was better
Back home now to walk the dog. Chilly here!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 13/01/2016 16:08

oh, yeah, we are birthday twins shop Smile and thank you all for birthday wishes

libertydoddle · 13/01/2016 16:49

Lara love those boots. Great buys. Well done on stepping away from that jumper. You would never wear it!

shop brunch sounds lovely. You will wear the coatigan all the time. Great bargain too.

Blair yes the Toast buys are for work but I could see myself wearing both at weekends too. My formal and informal styles seem to be merging!

Both Zara purchases are going back. The jacket itches my neck and the shirt is too stiff.

GeorginaWorsley · 13/01/2016 17:00

shop
I love the coatigan.
I have a navy Mango one that is similar.
Is yours black and grey?
Seriously considering ordering.

shopafrolic · 13/01/2016 17:07

Yes Georgina black and grey. Pic attached. Comes up big - I'm a 12 and got a Small

shopafrolic · 13/01/2016 17:16

Love those first two Chloe links Lara - gorgeous trousers Smile

GeorginaWorsley · 13/01/2016 17:26

shop
Thank you for that.
I'm an 8 so will order the Xs.
I have never ordered from them before but have been in the shop in Norfolk.

shopafrolic · 13/01/2016 17:36

Just bear in mind i think they don't accept returns on sale stuff Smile

Drywhitethanks · 13/01/2016 17:38

Great buys everyone!

Isn't it cold? But at least it isn't raining. Severe frost this morning and snow has started in the Lakes so it's coming down Smile

Blair I tried on the navy print pencil skirt with black opaques and black Hobbs wedges, works really well.

Loving the sound of all of your cashmere dresses.

Drywhitethanks · 13/01/2016 17:42

Lara I bet Liberty could knit you that sweater Grin

GeorginaWorsley · 13/01/2016 17:43

Will do shop
Smile

Karcheer · 13/01/2016 17:46

Evening all,

I've made a huge effort to not be a slob today Grin
Ootd

  1. dog walking AM - grey track suit, black and white animal print gym top and bottoms, grey north face walking shoes, Prada jacket.
  2. gym - black and white animal print gym top and bottoms, pink nikes.
  3. rest of day - n pearl ivory cashmere jumper, h & m faux leather chocolate leggings, brown isabel marant Andrew boots, Prada jacket, Tiffany tortoiseshell sunnies.
  4. dog walk PM - as above but with my new sorel boots.

I even wore make up today Grin

I love my sorel boots! Even the old man I dog walk with admired them!

lara love the Chloe's! not sure about the big jumper, not my style.
shop nice buys, the coat is lovely. I need a coat I can wear in the evenings, something like that, but I think I'm too short for that, plus it's not my colours.

What does everyone think of fur? I've real fur on my Prada coat, but I'm really tempted by a fur gilet, dh keeps saying I'll get paint thrown over me :/ I kind of think its bad, but surely if it's from a reputable brand it most be ok, or am I being naive? Also is it a bit WAG?

shopafrolic · 13/01/2016 18:01

I would never buy really fur personally.

shopafrolic · 13/01/2016 18:02

That said I have a feeling my Bobbl hat bobble may unwittingly be real fur :(

Karcheer · 13/01/2016 18:05

shop my bobble hat is real fur too. There seems lots of real fur around at the moment. When I got my mum a hat at Christmas it was really hard to find a nice faux one.

libertydoddle · 13/01/2016 18:19

dry yep Lara's big jumper would be a very easy knit. I did have a moment when I saw the price and thought I could knock it up at 70% off Grin as long as shop doesn't tell anyone just how crap I am at actually finishing knitting projects

karcheer I wouldn't buy fur. That said, it doesn't seem to bother people so much ATM. I think lots of people assume that most fur is fake.
