Woman on Tube has fantastic patent leather, claret colour, 16 hole DMs. They look amazing.

LinusLovesBretons · 19/01/2016 09:30

Morning!

Welcome merriboo and have fun shopping for a purse. Mine is a Céline one that is a couple of years old but still in good nick considering I don't treat it gently.

mara good luck for today.

lib and amber your OOTD's sound great. I am dresses for comfort as there's lots of snow here: R&B skinnies, Heattech, Brunello Cucinelli cashmere jumper and my trusty Ugg Adirondack boots.

They might not be the most elegant boots around but I bought them 5 years ago when I was pregnant with DS and they have served me well every winter so far.

Thank god I have winter tyres on my car as doing the school run when the roads haven't been cleared yet is not for the fainthearted. Lovely DH got rid of all the snow on my car this morning so he's earned some brownie points as I hate doing it myself.

Longislandicetee · 19/01/2016 09:54

Morning! I am finally out of bed though still resting.

Linus I am such a wuss. I refuse to do the morning school run when it's snowed and just make dh do it.

OOTD all sound lovely. Mine is Gap children skinny jeans (aka the world's most comfortable jeans), pink Amnercombie long tee over which I am wearing oatmeal crew neck cashmere sweater from J crew. Underwear is a Freya polka dot set in a pinky/orange colour. Bling is an emerald cut citrine and diamond ring, Marc Jacobs leather bracelet anf a new CK watch that I had bought for my dsil for Christmas. It didn't arrive on time and so I have snaffled it for myself.

QueenC · 19/01/2016 10:05

Morning. amber please tell me you have pop sox on? Your feet must be freezing!
Ootd is black cords, grey blouse and pine green cardi. Feel a bit dull. Working from home mumsnetting for an hour before I go and visit a patient.

Pop socks are for the weak.

AmberNectarine · 19/01/2016 10:20

Anyway, it's a balmy -1c in London Town today!

Longislandicetee · 19/01/2016 10:38

Amber, We could not be more different.Grin I think I may have shivered!

AmberNectarine · 19/01/2016 10:48

I do feel the cold, to be honest (sitting with my coat round my shoulders while I work) but I really, really hate pop socks and I'm not willing to compromise an outfit by being practical #idiot

KittyHello · 19/01/2016 11:00

Grin Amber I wore my LKB Florissa's to work yesterday without pop socks. Like Amber I just couldn't succumb to them.

Boring SR ootd indigo TS Baxters, grey Tippi, shearling grey Pistols, NF Parka, sheepskin gloves, BUT I do have nice underwear on! M&S cerise lace bra with matching knickers Wink

libertydoddle · 19/01/2016 11:18

I have seen a few sockless people today in London. Just looking at them made me shiver #weakling Smile

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 19/01/2016 11:20

i'm with blingy i'd have turned into a frozen husk if i had shoes with no form of socks, even pop sox! i cannot do cold at all, i just can't, right now i am all about layers and lots of them, even in the heights of summer ihave to carry a cardigan around with me as i am well known for getting cold

Stokey · 19/01/2016 13:26

I need to wear socks/tights til at least May - I'm not built for these climes, should really be living on the equator somewhere.

I think I was in Marbella that same Easter Amber with dd1 - IIRC it was the royal wedding and everyone was baking on the beach in Lancashire (DFIL had BBC northwest) while it was pouring down on the Costa del Sol and we were hanging out in soft play every day.

My Finery order is this dress, and this one which may be a bit too Sandra Dee for me, and a basic clutch. I love this velvet print dress too but so not my colours.

Casual here in new R&B skinnies, green ribbed polo, bright pink v-neck sweater & purple cashmere scarf - it's Arctic!

AmberNectarine · 19/01/2016 13:52

Yes royal wedding - exactly Stokey. Which I watched from a hospital bed after getting dangerously dehydrated with food poisoning. Not my best holiday.

FedupNagging · 19/01/2016 14:09

Ugh, its -4 here and ds3 went off to college sans coat 'cos it's too much hassle to carry around' Hmm

I had an impromptu trip into town yesterday afternoon to meet friends and visit the Pleasure & Pain shoe exhibition at the V&A - definitely worth a visit although it does shut end of Jan.

However, more importantly I finally bought a pair of boots -
Ash Jalouse yay, am very pleased with them. Boot budget of £100 blown right out of the window - oops!

CDC order has arrived but am only keeping this top - colour is the most gorgeous raspberry.

STILL no Woolovers delivery so will be chasing asap.

I'm not sure that the 10 items limit is going to work for me as I've already bought 6 this month unless sale spends don't count Grin

FedupNagging · 19/01/2016 14:12

Stokey fab finery order - love everything especially the bag.

Mara hope it all went well today.

Love the sound of Amber and Libs stylish ootd's

My day is consisting of dog walks, household chores and a trips to the post office so ootd is not sylish at all: I&C skinnies (old), grey Jaeger polo neck, giant blue blanket cardigan, grey socks and ugg slippers.

Stokey · 19/01/2016 14:32

PM Fedup

LinusLovesBretons · 19/01/2016 14:41

stokey love the 'Sandra Dee' dress!

I saw these and thought of amber and shop

justasecond · 19/01/2016 14:45

Great boots fedup
I really like those finery dresses stokey the velvet one would be good for an autumn.
The trouble with popsocks is that they have to match your skin colour excatly otherwise they look crap. I have yet to find any that resemble my skin tone, always too dark or too light.
Hope your exam goes well mara
that reminds me I ordered this equipment silk shirt that mara got a while ago and I loved it but was oos when I looked. I found it on yoox the other day. Hope it fits, its a small but I think their sizing is quite generous.
www.lyst.com/clothing/equipment-lynn-floralprint-blouse-peacoatblue-peacoat-1/
I am not a massive fan of florals but I do like a bold one like this.

justasecond · 19/01/2016 14:46

ooh those are lovely linus yes I think amber or shop could pull them off

libertydoddle · 19/01/2016 16:14

Am I the only one left even attempting the 10 challenge???? Grin I am not counting purchases made before deciding to do it so none of my sales stuff counts have to be realistic. I have counted the LKB knee boots as purchase number one. Saying to myself 'is this good enough to be one of the 10?' has been very successful in stopping me from buying loads of things so far.

Great Finery items Stokey, the ochre dress had me chanting my 'it is good enough?' line and simultaneously sitting on my hands.

Ash Jalouse are worth blowing the budget for Fedup and that top is a really stunning colour.

Justa that blouse is gorgeous - btw are you coming to the MU on Saturday? Sorry if you have already said and I missed it.

Longislandicetee · 19/01/2016 17:08

I wasn't ever in it Lib

I have been thinking about the impact of clothes this afternoon. I had to go out and threw on my Burberry coat and scarf, a caramel beret, my salmon pink PS13 and my Aquatalia long boots. Just a bit of foundation and MAC tainted lip balm with my hair brushed down and I felt good. I caught a reflection of myself in the window and thought, "looking good Blingy". Believe me it's the first time I have thought that in 2 weeks!!

Justa that blouse is totally gorgeous. Wouldn't suit me one iota but it is beautiful!

Lara, I saw your posts on the Charlene of Monaco thread and laughed. Not like you at all!

maradesbois · 19/01/2016 17:16

Hello,

Exam seemed to go ok, thanks for good wishes. They made us wait for what seemed like ages in the -2 cold beforehand though so good job that ootd was practical: new marant shearling boots, black skinnies, burgundy cashmere jumper and woolrich parka.

justa good find, I love that shirt, can't say the 'b' word. Don't wear mine much but should try under new marni cardigan for winter daytime. Not a big fan of florals per se either but love equipment's botanical prints.

Lib I've bought 5 things in Jan already so don't think it's going to work. A good aim though, not going to buy anything else a/w apart from a bobble hat for skiing.

Fedup glad you got boots. Can't open link on the bus or will lose my post but like the shape of the jalouse.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 19/01/2016 18:37

Hi all,

I wrote a post last night and went to bed without posting it Hmm I was so tired after a day working in town for the first time in weeks. It was very confusing when I was reading through the thread today and my post wasn't there!

Anyway - glad the exam went well mara, outfit sounds toasty.

Love that print justa, Yoox is great for finding random items that are sold out everywhere else, in fact the site is so huge that that's all I've used it for. You can't browse!

I have been known to go without tights on an evening out this time of year, but for work I don't care and yesterday I discovered how warm thermal socks are Grin. The hunt for shearling boots has been called off.

Today I wore Baukjen charcoal turtleneck tube dress and a really old Topshop raspberry cropped cardigan, with a black and gold skinny belt (Primark) and a long gold pendant. Was in the office so wore heeled shoe boots.

shopafrolic · 19/01/2016 19:19

Link the thermal socks please Blair I am freezing!
Linus love those Acne boots - I actually want them in black but they are way to £££ for me at the moment.
No time to open everyone's links - lots going on here with boiler repairs, blinds to be fitted in the kitchen, AGA service tomorrow etc. etc so not on the ball with reading everything but waving to all.
Mara so pleased today went well :)

Dreamqueen · 19/01/2016 19:27

I've totally given up on the 10 challenge. In fact, on reflection I must have been off my head on gin when I thought I would be able to do it. I've just ordered another bikini & a pair of leggings for travelling in.
I know that I shoyld be cutting back but I cant resist a sale bargain if its something I think I need. want
