Some early risers today. Thanks for the new thread, Colly. BD, how are things? I hope they're not so awful that you can't even vent about them here.

Getting ready for the onslaught of the DGC. DD's two will be coming for breakfast with her, then it's take the oldest to school, spend the morning with DGD2, collect DGD1 from pre school at lunchtime, look after the two girls until it's time to collect DGS1 from school; then they all go home at 5 o'clock. No wonder we collapse in a heap in the evening.

Lalsy, I wonder how my DS and his wife think about ILs - the work on their house starts in the New Year and they're moving in here during March until, probably, July. They are, I am sure, just as nervous as we are, but we will get through it (she says through clenched teeth).

Hi Tilly, well since the summer holidays I've been dealing with DS1 (23) who's been giving me a hard time - he moved back home with me for all of 3 weeks before things went pear-shaped and he had to leave again. All very stressful and traumatic. To the outside world he's a lovely young man but it's a very different scenario at home. As an LP it's very difficult to manage and I have limited support. I really feel that I've tried to do my best and it's all gone very wrong. DS2 and DD stand on the sidelines, watching it all fall apart, yet again.

So here I am, hoping my mind will be distracted by everyone else's challenges. Anyone got a desert island I can borrow?

I'm using it at the moment but you're welcome to it in...ooh, three weeks?

Hola Crepeys! I'm still here. I haven't abandoned you (were you worried?? ).

My tablet has been dying a slow and horrible death, so any more than a sentence of typing is just too laborious (and we all know a sentence just isn't enough on the crepey thread). Add to this a ferociously busy phase at work (so minimal lunchtime surfing), and half term (i.e. no chance of getting near a laptop) - I figured I'd content myself with lurking.

So I'm up with all your news - well done for new jobs, three cheers for enforced spells off work, trust holidays went well, and here's hoping today isn't too awful, WAF....

New tablet has arrived, so I shall be unleashed on the thread in full flow later on!!
