Anyone discovered any great fashion blogs recently?

There seem to be so many fashion blogs now but I haven't found any recently that make me thing wow, great blog I can get inspiration from.

Love Pinterest but like blogs for links/instant info on where items are from. Gone off WIT now constantly pushing her wardrobe icons site and J Crew, school gate/run etc not my thing at all, Find DMBL40 patronising. A few I used to like stopped posting often and I lost interest.

Am 34, 2 DC and still like to make an effort, like to mix high street and odd higher end items.

Any ideas? Smile

I enjoy Susiesoso also, and yours to Amber!

What I really, really want, is for someone to come into my wardrobe, check out what I have, ditch the horrors, fill in the gaps and show me how to put together several outfits with accessories using 1 main piece.. Wear this pencil skirt a millionty different ways. These grey jeans, 3 ways to wear them. This top shoved down behind the suitcases, 10000 ways to wear it.

I'd take a polaroid and pin them up in the wardrobe as a reference, along with copious notes of what suits me and what doesn't, although I have got that sort of worked out.

Each season, email me, hey HRN, this season, buy these 3 pieces only. goes with xyz...

chanie44 · 31/08/2015 20:26

I like susie so so, too. I think she comes across as a really nice person, which is why I read.

I really dislike schoolgatestyle which is just sponsored posts.

I used to like wearing it today, but I think Laura has either lost interest in the blog or as she works for herself, she doesn't need to dress up for work, so doesn't have anything to write about.

Googlers123 · 31/08/2015 20:37

Amber, have you stopped doing your blog and ig now?

WipsGlitter · 31/08/2015 20:52

I like suzys because it's a mix of stuff. I also like life at the little wood but it can be a teeny bit contrived.

MsBojangles · 31/08/2015 20:53

This woman has a knack of putting random pieces together without looking like a complete tool.

I'm going back to work in a couple of weeks so I'm planning on resurrecting it all then. I haven't felt anyone would really want to see me in my running gear/jeans and a hoodie.

lurkingabit · 31/08/2015 21:28

tiffanys budget is flipping enormous! Susie's blog is great. An enjoyable read. She blogs when she has something to blog about, rather than blogging to a schedule (or so it seems to me). Makes it feel genuine and more interesting to read. Yes it'd be great if she blogged more often, but we probably like the blog because she doesn't blog so often. Jeez get me tonight, full of opinion (and laryngitis).

Belinda's blog is great. Hope she blogs more again soon.

Brenda you'll have to resend that 'no pigeon toe' memo to cocomamastyle.Grin

Another fan of Susie So So. Her style is very different to mine, but I still read her blog because she just seems like someone I'd be mates with. I look at schoolrunstyle sometimes, but it's not really my taste and I get put off because she's of the tiny skinny variety and I am not and it makes me feel really insecure, chubby and ugly (which is obviously not her fault!)

lurkingabit · 31/08/2015 21:51

Buynowbloglater is good. Mainly make up. Huge amounts of it. its a good read tho. Funny too. Again she comes across as genuine.

jaybeeyellow · 31/08/2015 22:21

Style guile anybody? Pink front doors? Great legs.

BrendaandEddie · 31/08/2015 22:38

Prim and fucking annoying? ??

WipsGlitter · 01/09/2015 06:32

Style guile was the first one I read! They're all too thin for a chubster not totally svelte person what they wear doesn't work. There was one style at every age maybe who was bigger but I don't think she does it any more. Poppy is bigger but she's an apple shape.

BrendaandEddie · 01/09/2015 06:43

And her choice of what to wear is er interesting.

MrsCampbellBlack · 01/09/2015 06:45

buynowbloglater is very good - she writes well especially about how most vlogs/blogs are sneakily paid for.

MrsCampbellBlack · 01/09/2015 06:47

I prefer to look at bloggers on instagram and not be forced to read all the writing generally.

MeAndTheMajor · 01/09/2015 07:13

Susie So So is definitely my favourite. Her style is most similar to mine, although she's a lot more petite and I admire her persuit for the perfect item!

I still like DMBL40, I just skim read some of the lists but it does save me trawling the internet.

Does anybody else read Fashion Me Now? Completely different target audience to some of the above (works in fashion and is in her 20s) but her style is effortless and she always looks amazing.

BrendaandEddie · 01/09/2015 07:33

i think when it strays into homelife it become MORE vain than normal

Bloggers also take heed - peasant smock tops. they dont suit virtually ALL of you

BrendaandEddie · 01/09/2015 07:34

also DMBL - veering into drag with those boots

GeorginaWorsley · 01/09/2015 08:06

I look at Fashion Me Now.
Wonderful travelogue!
Love her 'look' but she young enough to be my daughter I suspect. Plus I don't have need for quite so many holiday clothes and beach wear in my neck of the woods Grin
I look at Mid Life chic too, bit corporate now she works but very high street and she has beautiful house on Lake District so not typical southern centric yummy mummy blog full of trips to Blue Water and Cos /Other Stories etc that only exist in London.

homebythesea · 01/09/2015 08:33

I read most of those mentioned, favourite is midlifechic less for the fashion but more for her insights into life and family. My midlife fadhion is a bit more fashiony (with way worse spelling and grammar) but good for put together looks.

Capucine00 · 01/09/2015 08:40

Pandora Sykes writes well, she's Wardrobe Mistress for The Times and has her own site that is not too blog like, ie not rambling on about pr events she's invited to and pushing her corporate relationships onto readers. There's oped on there too.

Tales of Endearment By Natalie Joos is interesting as she's hugely informed about vintage. I prefer to read work by fashion insiders with good fashion culture knowledge as opposed to endless what I wore today posts.

jaybeeyellow · 01/09/2015 09:29

Have you noticed that a fair few of them have begun acquiring puppies?
i do think that there is a lack of blogs for those who are 50+. I like DMBL40 etc, but I just can't do the ripped jean scenario.

RoaldFarl · 01/09/2015 10:25

I follow MidLifeChic - we are similar ages and I think she writes very well and interestingly about her clothes and her life. Always look forward to her posts. I also like DMBL40 and don't find her patronising, though she is slightly less relevant to me.

Capucine00 · 01/09/2015 11:14

An over reliance upon living things as props = an unsubscribe unless it is their partner. Dogs as fashion accessories tend to make me think they must be airheads.

I'm the same with photos of styled kids. Cannot bear blogs which feature those. I want fantasy!

StillFrankie · 01/09/2015 13:09

Had a look at whatlouwore. Really like the clothes but tbh they are for an age group much younger than she seems to be and me

I look at plus size blogs at the moment - Corners of the Curve and Arched Eyebrow for eg
