hopeful I think just about everyone will recommend the biore uv aqua rich watery gel spf - its very light and dries down to nothing on your skin so you should avoid the sliding off sensation.

In other news my tulawasoo enzyme powder arrived and I love it - leaves skin v soft. I use as a second cleansers.

Stevie77 · 29/09/2015 12:06

AngelaRipp0n · 30/09/2015 22:51

Evening all, it's been a while.

The secret key swan cream arrived today so Ill be giving it a try tomorrow, I have high hopes for it as I need a primer and who doent need a few flaws blurring? I also got a load of the cutesy items like the panda hand cream, the Apple & cherry lip creams, something shaped as a penguin and a couple of lip glosses with bunny eared lids. All for my teen Dd's as stocking fillers - yes I know it's only September but as they get older stocking get harder to fill. They're all seriously cool and it's been hard not to either open them or show my dd's.

I'm still waiting for the black snail aoi, which has niacinamide in it but I'm on the lookout for something else with it in as I could do with a bit of de-blotching. I'm very pale (redhead) and my skin can be red in places especially on my chin, since I've given up on retin a My skin isn't looking quite as good. Having said that since starting the job I've had the odd night when I've not even taken make up off so it's probably down to standards slipping.

Hope you're all well.

ilovetosleep · 01/10/2015 19:44

Hi everyone! Its been a while. Been letting my skin get over whatever issue it had and am back on the AB wagon! So sorry to hear about your awful time Frugal with your lip. Sounds scary, it's really made me think about using too many acids (am yet to re intorduce them actually)

My skin is looking pretty good atm and I thought I'd come back and say that I think what has really helped all those little blocked pores I had was the LRP retinol Redermic R. basically I stripped back to my preAB safe routine (double cleanse, Ren and Balance me very simple moisturising creams and oil) and then introduced the retinol every other night. Within a week I was going make up free (apart from concealer and a little blusher) which probably also has helped- I suspect the culprit was wearing bb cream/foundation every day rather than any of the skin care products. I remember there were a few people on here debating whether to buy the Redermic so I'm here to say it's a winner! I'll probably stick to every other day as I don't really know how to fit everything in one routine!

Since clearing up the bumps I have also reintroduced the hada Labo, Cerave PM and Mizon Starfish cream, so they're not all sitting there gathering dust which was upsetting me for a while! So now I do

AM - Hada Labo foaming cleanser, Hada Labo, Starfish cream, SPF
PM - Emma Hardie cleanser, Hada Labo cleanser, (Retinol), Hada Labo lotion, Cerave PM, REN Rose O12 facial oil.

Basically its all moisture and I know my skin could do with even more, which I need to figure out before I re introdce the Cos RX blackhead or the Bravura AHA I have. I think I'll just use those alternately on the days in between the retinol, so each one only twice a week ish.

I also have Hylamide and Missha longer name to get back in action as well, plus I want to buy a propolis ampoule! Phew, its a lot of product.

Will be back later to ask advice on cushions.

I hope you're all well.

lucysmam · 01/10/2015 20:43

Oh! It was me dithering over the Redermic ilove, I am still dithering ... Very tempted by it after seeing good reviews here!

Glad to see your skin is recovering nicely. I feel weird going make-up free but do try and have a couple of days without it each week. This is easier if we're not going anywhere on a weekend, folks can take me as they find me here, at home, but I feel strange out and about without it.

I have nothing new to report apart from that I am currently using the Superdrug bha pads with no adverse effects. Not sure whether I'll try the COSRX bha or Stridex after those - a friend is off to the States soon so could pick me some up way cheaper than they are on ebay.

FrustratedFrugal · 01/10/2015 20:50

Great to hear from you Sleep and so happy your face is in a much better shape! I've been makeup free all week except for a dab of sunscreen. My lip looks pretty grim (covered with a huge oozing crust, TMI) but it is almost painless. I would never get lip fillers though, too gruesome. I feel super relieved and have ordered Australian lip protector as I will spend a week in Greece soon.

I've no idea if the secret key Snow White cream made any difference due to a sleeping husband and having to get ready in a semi dark room this morning. Black snail aoi arrived, just in time as I've run out of moisturiser and have been using samples for the last couple of days.

Tempted by redermic, it's got 20% off in boots at the moment.

GrinAndTonic · 01/10/2015 22:22

Morning all

I started back with the cosrx aha last night and nothing bad has happened yet. It was definitely a lesson learned; don't use aha and exfoliate with a konjac sponge nearly every night. It got so bad I was using mizon eye cream samples (which smells like musk lollies) on my entire face.

I bought something that Lucy did, rice cream or something and a propolis ampoule. Now I just have to wait for the parcel to arrive.

Has anyone shopped on rakutan? I think it may be cheaper. It seems very popular on reddit.

Oh and the Innisfree capsule masks are lovely. I want to lick the strawberry yoghurt one out of the container it smells so good.

lucysmam · 02/10/2015 07:22

It was TFS Rice Ceramide Cream Grin.

Stevie77 · 02/10/2015 11:07

ilove why do you think Redermic helped the blocked pores? Isn't it an anti-wrinkle cream?

derektheladyhamster · 02/10/2015 19:19

Oh poo. Who'd have thought there were 2 cute Tony moly panda face creams. I have bought the sleeping pack & not the magic cream which I have been testing. Here's hoping I don't break out using it. Still it'll mean 2 cute panda pots

ilovetosleep · 02/10/2015 19:30

stevie I might be wrong but retinol is not just for wrinkles but also an acne treatment (obv this is not prescription strength retinA but a weaker Otc product)

Stevie77 · 02/10/2015 19:50

I'm not sure myself, that's why I asked. maybe someone else knows...

AngelaRipp0n · 02/10/2015 19:57

Coconut - I was an oil slick before I started AB and now it's very managable. I agree with Lucysmam that you need more moisture. I'd also swap your Vit c serum to the evening, in order to make mornings easier also I think there's something about sunlight, not sure tbh. I don't like thick western style moisturisers any more, but have found more lighter layers has been very hydrating and at the same time reduced oiliness. My routine is:

Am - quick wash with water and flannel - acid Cosrx whitehead/blackhead on alternate days - 15 min wait. FTE, HL - scenic propolis ampoule or scenic Aqua - Mizon black snail aoi, Biore watery, secret key Snow White cream/primer, Missha cushion, Etude house no sebum powder.

PM - Banila zero - Micellar water - Cosrx ph adjusting toner - Vit c serum with half an hour wait - FTE - HL - Benton snail bee ( sometimes scenic ampoules too) - Cerave pm - White wine sleep pack if I can be bothered.

lucysmam · 02/10/2015 20:09

As far as I understand it, the vitamin c has some photoprotective properties. It's the aha that can cause photosensitivity leading to more chance of sunburn.

I may be wrong - will have a google tonight now.

stevie, retin-a is an effective acne treatment as well as anti-wrinkle from the reading I've been doing. I don't want it for the wrinkle aspect but to try and unclog the years old bumps that never seem to shift.

I have a spot under my eye . Right where my 'Dierdree Barlow sunglasses', as dp calls them because they're so huge, sit.

lucysmam · 02/10/2015 20:30

Angela was it you who bought the hair velcro thingys? I need an update as to whether they're worth me getting before I press 'go' Smile

wickedfairy · 04/10/2015 08:18

My cosrx aha finally arrived! Tried it last night and no adverse affects. The packaging says don't use another acid (bha, vitC) on the same night - but some of the bloggers do aha, bha, vitC all with waits in between! What do you think?

Have been using retinA about 3x week and no acids on those nights. Should I move my vitC to the mornings and use aha/bha at night (on non-retinA days)?

It's all so confusing, trying to get things in the right order!!

lucysmam · 04/10/2015 09:30

wicked, I'm so sorry, I forgot all about your parcel when we went to the post office! Blush. We will go tomorrow.

I think the safety warning on the aha/bha is so folks don't go crazy using everything all at once and over exfoliate. I think if you're careful enough introducing them then daily use should be ok so long as you pay close attention to your skin and step back if it starts to look or feel wrong.

I would use the vit c on a morning if you plan to use both aha/bha together on a night.

I have nothing to report - none of my parcels have arrived yet Sad.

Rl has suddenly got very busy...I have a gazillion princess dresses to make for Christmas and have fully taken over the Rainbows. Just need a job now! I do appreciate my long evening routine very much now as a time for me to unwind and switch my brain off!

wickedfairy · 04/10/2015 18:10

Hi Lucysmam - no worries, thank you! Don't go specifically for me though!

I think your rec re vitC in the morning is a good one, just so it's not too acid heavy at night... I have just noticed very light peeling/flaking around my chin - must be from the retinA. Put some more moisturiser on and it has "gone". All I am waiting on now is more Biore watery essence coming...

Well, until I order something else Smile. Oh, I have started using my Joseon cream (I forget the real name - house of Joseon?) and it is really nice. It has a lovely smell, it moisturising too. Think I may be repurchasing that - I think it will be good for the winter and the extra oomph required!

lucysmam · 04/10/2015 18:17

I have a load of letters - mainly bill payment cheques, oops - in my bag too! I cleared it out this morning & found it all. Only been in there since last weekend ish Blush

I'm not sure if the Joseon might be a bit much for me, what's the texture like?
