Mulberry Bush? South Bank?

MollyAir · 19/08/2015 11:40

Have PM'd you. Anyone else need a PM? Yes, I think it's: BD, BTM, MrsS, MollyAir - small but perfectly formed and highly supportive. Grin Others welcome to join...

motherinferior · 19/08/2015 12:02

Magi, that is such a good tip. The likelihood of having the specific bit of paper pinched is SO low (especially in my office)...

We have had one of those mornings where you drive round and round slightly pointlessly, but frankly I don't care.

lalsy · 19/08/2015 12:51

I've lost a post on my phone so it may appear twice.....

Really good tip - I write my important ones in code in a notebook used for other things, I can't usually find and decipher them myself. Less important ones, I use that think of a phrase and vary it by site method, tho have seen this criticised. We're all probably going to have to shift to one of those online vaults I guess, if they work. This site is full of articulate clever women expressing strong opinions, and often offering support to women trying to protect themselves and their children from abusive men. What's not to like Angry.

Rose, that must be so stressful, and getting dribs and drabs by phone is awful too.

BTM, hope you get some sleep tonight.

beachyhead · 19/08/2015 12:54

If I come into work on Friday, can I come too? I'll let you know by tomorrow. Upstairs or downstairs? And what time are you planning?

Blackduck · 19/08/2015 13:01

Wasn't Rudy a possible for Friday?

beachyhead · 19/08/2015 13:27

I think Rudy was worried about stalking her dc SmileSmile

GiddyGiddyGoat · 19/08/2015 13:28

Pssst Crepeys - I was on the list Hmm although am such a numpty I can't really understand all this - but am definitely feeling rather paranoid...

GiddyGiddyGoat · 19/08/2015 13:29

Well at least she's not worried about a SWAT team arriving at their home Shock

herbaceous · 19/08/2015 13:36

Oh Lordy. I use pretty much the same password for everything.

Blackduck · 19/08/2015 13:39

Giddy give us a clue!? Who are you?

Blackduck · 19/08/2015 13:41

ha giddy....

magimedi · 19/08/2015 13:46

Herbs, you need to change them & make them all different. Especially bank & amazon account type ones.

I'll just copy what I said in an earlier post:

"I read something by an IT security bod who reckons that you are better to use different passwords & quite complex ones for every site you use & keep a written list of them. The chances of someone breaking into your home & finding the list are much lower than the chances of trouble if you use the same password for everything."

bigTillyMint · 19/08/2015 13:59

Fingers crossed you have to work Beachy!

Giddy, love it!

If we are going round the fruity one, shall I book a table for say 4 (+1 hopefully) at 6pm on Fri?

lalsy · 19/08/2015 14:03

Useful video by Sophos . Think I may go over to LastPass or something, and focus on remembering one strong password.

lalsy · 19/08/2015 14:04

Nope, baffled Giddy....

GiddyGiddyGoat · 19/08/2015 14:05

The techy consensus seems to be that if you are "on the list" the hacker has your username / password and therefore access to your pms. I have just deleted everything from my inbox and sent pms as in there was my address and directions to my house Shock Shock Shock.

The fact that you are not "on the list" doesn't prove the hacker doesn't have these details for you - as I understand it - since no one seems exactly sure what has happened and how. So if you're worried (and I think everyone should at least carefully think about this) then definitely change any passwords that were shared with your mn password, consider changing your username and consider deleting your pms.

As you were...

hattymattie · 19/08/2015 14:15

Giddy - I know who you are - but I haven't dared change my user name - I'm so used to it - hmm - will consider. It'll take me a day to think of something different!

Blackduck · 19/08/2015 14:15

No shared passwords here.

It is a bit of a Shock really. And yes to addresses etc....

Blackduck · 19/08/2015 14:16

Key thing is Change your password if you haven't already!!! And to something very different to what it was.

magimedi · 19/08/2015 14:28

I CBA to change my user name, I don't think it will make much difference.

I have, after reading Giddy's post, deleted all my rent & received PMs.

motherinferior · 19/08/2015 16:34

I've deleted all the ones I've received...

BeachysFlipFlops · 19/08/2015 16:47

I've got PM's going back to 2010! Look at my new name Grin.

Cremo · 19/08/2015 17:00

Ach who is giddy ? My brain is exhausted. Clue bitte?

GiddyGiddyGoat · 19/08/2015 17:16

Crem, you've been to my house... and a nearby restaurant for a Crepey knees up. Sherry was involved...
