Ta Da!

OP posts:

I got an email. God I hope my name wasn't on it. Don't use this email/password combo for anything else, though.

Think quite a few of the emails may have gone into spam...

It's pouring with rain here! But rather beautifully. I may suggest we jump in the pool having scandalised the Infereriorettes with my tendency to do so sans cossie

magimedi · 19/08/2015 08:18

If you don't use the same username or password for anything else & just use an email that is not used for banks, amazon etc I think you'll be OK.

hattymattie · 19/08/2015 08:19

I had email this morning but looked at the hacker thread and changed password yesterday when I was locked out. There are some crazy people out there - who would send armed police round to somebody's house?Shock

Zoo was great - even "too cool" adolescent DD2 enjoyed it. They have a massive Eden project style greenhouse for tropical stuff with lots of snakes, tiny frogs disguised as leaves (took a while to find). Plus crazy baboons performing lewd sexual acts (DS being rather prim was Shock). I am a total child.

Anyway - a good friend is back from hols so going for coffee this morning - I think it is at least a week since I had a chat with another woman apart from you lotSmile

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/08/2015 08:26

QueenQueenie is on the list, as is Stropps. Haven't found any others.

I read the email, but it just swam before my eyes, as techy stuff is wont to do. I've only got one email address, which I use for everything, but did change my password yesterday. Is that enough?

Off to a zoo-y type thing today with DS, complete with paddling pool, birds of prey, and all that. Exhausted by the prospect already. DP still contemplating his navel, so feel very much of a lone parent ATM. There had better not be any PA cleaning of kitchen countertops when he gets back tomorrow.

bigTillyMint · 19/08/2015 08:48

Lovely dress Rudy - you will look fab!

Feeling rather wasted again - woke up about 3 times in the night and then couldn't get to sleep for hours. Oh the joys of jet-lag. And I actually slept about 8 hours of the return flightConfused

At least DD seems happy this morning - BF came over for a sleepover and they are off on a jolly for other BF's birthday. All daySmile

Rosebag · 19/08/2015 08:51

Just reset password. It's not one I use for anything else, though. How are people checking whether they're on this list or not? Something similar happened a while back and I remember changing it then. What a pain.

I am a bit worn out. Lots going on with DParents, none of it good. DM has taken to calling DS1 out when she can't get DDad to move...last night DS1 had to go there at 10pm and call his friend round to help. She had also tried to get him back from work yesterday in the morning ...I put a stop to that. Its not on. Apparently DM is talking about DDad needing to go into hospital now. I can't see an obvious medical emergency. I have sent a strong email to the social worker who gets back from leave today. DM says that the district nurse read her the riot act yesterday about having insufficient care. DDad now has pressure sores developing. I rest my case.

In other news, we saw the magnificent Michael Ball in Mack and Mabel. Quite quite fabulous. But the whole thing came crashing down on the train home when I found out what was going on with DParents.

Rosebag · 19/08/2015 08:53

Love the dress rudy !!

tilly you can't get round jet lag....it takes a week whatever you do, doesn't it...

bigTillyMint · 19/08/2015 09:08

RoseSad I know you are right!

Blackduck · 19/08/2015 09:15

I got what i thought was a standard email? was it not?

cremolafoam · 19/08/2015 09:26

I got the email so am I to presume I am on the Twitter list.
Have changed my password. And will change it again now as its one I use a fair bit. Dh was Shock with the hacking ( he's a legal hacker who tests systems for big companies), so if he's "impressed" I find that worryingConfused I may take the opportunity to name change as well.
What a nightmare for Mumsnet .
Magi I'm in NI. Not known for sunsets , I assure you.Hence momentary wonderment.Grin

Blackduck · 19/08/2015 09:34

have set my password to something I won't remember :)

Please don't do wholesale name changes - I get Confused

magimedi · 19/08/2015 09:39

There is an alphabetical list of who is on 'the' list here:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/a2451977-Am-I-on-the-list?msgid=56199435

The start of the list was posted at 9.01 this morning. No passwords on it.

I have seen the list that does include the passwords & I am on it, but with my now discarded password. I changed passwords at 4.30pm yesterday.

Cremo · 19/08/2015 09:40

This is the new me. Look you can still recognise me BD. I'll change back once the hooha has dies down.

lalsy · 19/08/2015 09:47

I don't think I am on the list, and got a standard email about changing passwords. Urgh. What a thing.

Blackduck · 19/08/2015 09:48

don't use the same passwords for this as for other stuff (like banking), but I am not on that list posted on the thread either - should I be disappointed?!

What a w**ker though - the whole swat thing just beggers belief - I hope the police are taking this very seriously.

magimedi · 19/08/2015 09:54

I think the list relates to those logging in on one particular day - so if you didn't log in that day, you'll be fine.

My name appears about 6 times on the list, because I don't stay logged in here & have to log in each time I come here! The dedication!

I read something by an IT security bod who reckons that you are better to use different passwords & quite complex ones for every site you use & keep a written list f them. The chances of someone breaking into your home & finding the list are much lower than the chances of trouble if you use the same password for everything.

Blackduck · 19/08/2015 10:04

Point is DOS attacks are one thing - dumping out user info is another thing entirely and has huge consequences for people. And I still don't get why (besides being a prat)

Cremo · 19/08/2015 10:17

I am not on the list. Whatever that means.

Rudy you'll look a treat in that dress with the planned up do hope you have a great night! Opportunity to wear far too much black eyeliner is always fun, I find.Grin

Thinking of Stropps todaySad

bigTillyMint · 19/08/2015 10:42

Cremo, I didn't even blink when I saw you!

Maybe I could name-change too?

Rosebag · 19/08/2015 10:54

I do not seem to be on the list but have reset password anyway. I won't remember it of course Grin what a pain!

MollyAir · 19/08/2015 11:00

Thanks for that advice, Magi. It may seem rudimentary Wink but I haven't been doing it.

MollyAir · 19/08/2015 11:25

Could we firm up re Friday, given the dodginess of the site atm? Can we say 6pm at the gastro pub where we celebrated Stropps' and MrsS's birthday and Rudy showed us her lovely eyes?

bigTillyMint · 19/08/2015 11:31

Molly, I can't remember which one that wasBlushGrin Can you PM me please?!
Is it you, BD, MrsS and me or can anyone else make it?
