And I look like a clown

Oh god. I've paid for her to come on the day and do it too.
So unprofessional. She had to go in the other room and do an intimate wax while I waited for 20 minutes.

I could cry

In fact if I cried it would still leave this muck on my face.
I'm worried now I've spent the money and I won't get it back and I do NOT want to look like this on my wedding day.

Cancel immediately and request your money back. If she won't give it back cancel anyway and keep writing letters.

OnlyWantsOne · 02/07/2015 14:29

I just sent dp a photo and this was his reply

yeah she was watching don't tell the bride last night clearly. it was a November Rain themed wedding. Did you tell her you were having pink flowers??

Cancel, honestly, you'll be miserable if you don't. You want to look fabulous on your day.

Pagwatch · 02/07/2015 14:30

Show us

Are you sure it's just not very different from what you usually wear?

But, the others are right, if you are not happy then cancel.

chewymeringue · 02/07/2015 14:32

If you feel embarrassed call or email her later.

LizardBreath · 02/07/2015 14:34

Have you told her you don't like it? I had a makeup trial for an event and it was terrible, told her, she took note and adjusted there and then. Then in the day it was fantastic-best I've ever looked! Plus on the day I was completely comfortable to say less of that more of the other etc.

That being said, doing a wax in the middle is bad!

OnlyWantsOne · 02/07/2015 14:36

One is me doing my make up myself

One is from today done professionally

My trial made me look like a hooker. I said I wanted a natural bridal look and don't usually wear much make up. It was awful. I went and got some tips and nice new make up from a few make up counters and did my own. I was very pleased with how I looked.

homeaway · 02/07/2015 14:43

So which is which? The first one looks far more natural than the second.

OnlyWantsOne · 02/07/2015 14:44

The one with the red wall behind me is what I did.

countingdown · 02/07/2015 14:45

The first looks more natural, but the second isn't awful.

Ps if you dont like what she has done then as others have said cancel it.

Destinysdaughter · 02/07/2015 14:45

If it's the one on the left, you look lovely! The eye make up is maybe a bit too heavy but your skin looks amazing.

chewymeringue · 02/07/2015 14:46

I actually don't think either look bad but I like the first one most. It's your wedding though and your decision, definitely do it yourself if you prefer.

caravanista13 · 02/07/2015 14:46

If you're not happy, cancel. My daughter booked make up for her wedding - she never really wears any day to day and it looked completely over the top! She cancelled with no problems and asked her SIL to do it. She looked stunning on the day!

homeaway · 02/07/2015 14:46

I really like what you did1Smile

Playthegameout · 02/07/2015 14:48

Oh gosh. You're own make up looks lovely, I'd definitely cancel. If there is one day you should feel beautiful it's your wedding day. A proper make up artist will make you look the very best version of yourself. Can you afford / have time to rebook with someone else? If not, by the photo's, it looks like you'd do a great job yourself. I know some of my friends went to Mac and Estee Lauder for advice on doing their own make up and they looked stunning. It's really so important you feel happy with it.

NomiMalone · 02/07/2015 14:49

Your own makeup is better.

I would go for a slighter more pigmented lipstick and a wee bit more blusher and some highlight.

I find that brides with very natural makeup tend to look washed out in wedding photos.

GilbertBlytheWouldGetIt · 02/07/2015 14:49

The one you did yourself is lovely. The second one is quite a, er, mature style, isn't it?

The one you did yourself looks way better. I would cancel.

BitterChocolate · 02/07/2015 14:55

What did she say when you said that you didn't like it? Isn't the point of a trial to trial it and tweak it before the big day?

I do like what you did yourself, although the lighting is totally different so it's not an exact comparison with what she did. If you don't like her then don't go ahead just because you've already paid for it. If you do then you'll have paid money to not look how you want to, if you do it yourself and don't manage to get a refund then you'll be in the same financial position but at least you'll look the way you want to. If she won't refund then maybe get her to come anyway and do a manicure or something instead.

OnlyWantsOne · 02/07/2015 14:56

I won't get my money back will I :*(

I told her the eyes were too heavy and dark.
I asked for a natural look but wanted it prof done so it stayed on my face and I wouldn't have to worry about it.

She said that she would come early on the day to have extra time to have a play. Uhhh I'm really busy that day!
