Honest opinions please - my wedding dress

Have NC

I'm having doubts about my dress, mainly because I've been to 3 weddings recently where the bride has spent hundreds on their dress and I've spent less than £120 and only now have I realised you can probably tell.

The dress fits lovely and I'm getting nice shoes but I can't help shake the feeling people will think it looks cheap because it is cheap

If it helps I'm 5'10 and a slim size 12

Here is the link

Feeling stressed this evening worrying about it - wish wed disappeared somewhere and got married on our own so I didn't have 100 odd people looking at me

It's beautiful, very elegant and with the buttons down the back and the way it falls it doesn't look a 'cheaper' dress.

Well done for finding such a fantastic bargain.

BrideNotSoZilla · 27/06/2015 22:45

You've all made me cry Blush in a good way, promise. Feels good to hear it doesn't look shit.

I love fashion and so does DP so it feels very strange that I've not consulted him about this (obviously because you don't) but he's normally really good at finding things for me that look good. I almost want to show him but can't!

My family and friends are lovely and don't judge so I need to slap myself around the face and stop being silly that they'll even do that Blush. I just know with Facebook, I'll be online within hours and worry far too much about what others think.

I also keep comparing to the other weddings - like chipsahoy says, they've spent £1500+ all very lacy / Kate Middleton style and mine isn't anything like that (although it has Pippa M's back I think?)

I absolutely love it.

Toffee1234 · 27/06/2015 22:46

It's perfect. Don't think about others. This is your day. And it's about you celebrating in front of family and friends your commitment. Wear whatever you feel best in. The dress is irrelevant-it's the meaning that counts. All the very best to you both

Sparklingbrook · 27/06/2015 22:47

I can honestly say I have never been to a wedding and sat there wondering how much the bride's dress cost. That dress looks lovely.

VixxFace · 27/06/2015 22:48

It's lovely.

beeny · 27/06/2015 22:49

its lovely

DeffoJeffo · 27/06/2015 22:49

It's fab! You'll look amazing :)
Fwiw I only spent £150 on mine and had a little worry the week before but, you know what? In a photo a white dress just looks like a white dress tbh....I am SO SO glad in hindsight that I didn't get sucked into spending £1000+ on something I would only wear for half a day!

DoItTooJulia · 27/06/2015 22:49

I think it's really lovely! And eminently sensible not have spent thousands on a wear-once dress!

Congratulations Flowers

redautumnleaves · 27/06/2015 22:49

It is beautiful and very classy. Some wedding dressed that cost 10 times that much don't look as nice as this one.
I am a big believer in the saying, 'less is more'.

Runningupthathill82 · 27/06/2015 22:52

Gorgeous. Looks elegant and classy, certainly not cheap.

I spent £150 on my wedding dress and actually feel a bit smug about it - I love it to this day, and think it's much nicer than many I've seen that cost 10 times that.

BrideNotSoZilla · 27/06/2015 22:53

Mistress - sunflowers and jip (sp?) that's it, keeping it simple but love sunflowers.

calzone - gone with like a sage / grey bridesmaid dress, off high street again. The BM's love them and that was my aim! Will post a link. Haven't really got a colour scheme as such as it is suppose to be relaxed.

the above will completely out me as a person as one of my BM's is on here

Bride. I think it's lovely and elegant and you can have some beautiful flowers and will look a very chic bride indeed.

The important thing though, is that you forget about anyone else and just think about how you feel in that dress?
It doesn't matter if you spend £100 or £10,000, you need to feel fabulous on your special day.

If you do, and there's absolutely no reason why not, then that's the dress for you no matter what anyone else chooses Flowers

WestEast · 27/06/2015 22:55

It's bloody lovely. It's just so classic.
Have no doubt that you'll look like a little bit of perfection.

Valsoldknickers · 27/06/2015 22:55

It's beautiful. You have nothing to worry about! Congratulations Flowers

MadameJulienBaptiste · 27/06/2015 22:56

I love it cos it's not a strapless thing. You will look so elegant, and very importantly, your photos will probably look a lot less dated than your friends'.

RaspberrySnowCone · 27/06/2015 22:56

It's beautiful. If you love it and feel beautiful then it's the right dress. I spent very little on my dress too, £200 but even 4 years on I still love it to bits. The amount you spent means naff all, it's how you feel, especially when my husband turned round at the end of the day and said how much he loved it, he was worried I would turn up in something much more 'mainstream' if I buckled under the pressure to go for what other friends at the time went for.

MistressMerryWeather · 27/06/2015 22:57

I love sunflowers too.

Along with the jip it will be perfect, simple and stunning.

EvilSidekick · 27/06/2015 22:58

Absolutely fantastic dress. Elegant, stylish, timeless. You are tall and slim which is the ideal figure for that dress. You should look and feel wonderful. Congratulations on your wedding.

BrideNotSoZilla · 27/06/2015 22:58

Honestly everyone, thanks

Also, sunflowers represent warmth, happiness, adoration and longevity.

Perfect for a wedding. :o

hellhasnofurylikeahungrywoman · 27/06/2015 23:00

It's beautiful.

rockybalboa · 27/06/2015 23:01

Oh it's really pretty! I spent £160 on my wedding dress and I cut it up this week to make a dress for a soft toy for one of the DC...

Trills · 27/06/2015 23:01

Bargain!

Are you having it altered at all?

Having it fit PERFECTLY will make it go from a nice dress to looking properly special.

TheHormonalHooker · 27/06/2015 23:02

It's an absolutely beautiful dress. It's one of the nicest wedding dresses I've seen in a long time. I love simple, classic dresses.

Don't worry what people are thinking, I bet they won't even know.
