So there. :)

OP posts:
MrsSchadenfreude · 30/06/2015 22:10

I've just been a bit terse on FB chat with a friend. Her son and his girlfriend are coming over from the US to stay with us (DH did mention this vaguely a few weeks ago). She said she is "not sure when they will drift up". I said, well, we can put them up this week until Thursday, next week Monday to Thursday, but that's it. Not at either weekend. She said she would let them know... I do feel like I am running a hotel sometimes - like a really awful version of Fawlty Towers.

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/06/2015 22:22

No, we can't "fit them in" this Friday. Angry This isn't a Tardis, and we already have someone staying!

lalsy · 30/06/2015 22:40

Pah, MrsS, I can't stand people whose cool spontaneity is at the expense of others.

MI, I like the dress in spot. It is boden-y but I reckon you will unBoden it.

Crem and BD Shock. Please babble, rant and curse as much as is helpful.

hattymattie · 01/07/2015 07:37

Lalsy - that's a very good way of putting it. Cool spontaneity as long as everyone else runs around falling into line and then making them feel guilty and uncool when they can't.

Crepeys - I have run round the block! I am exhausted but felt I ought to do something given the heat predictions for later on. I am planning on sitting in a cool room watching Wimbledon later.

Off for shower now.

hattymattie · 01/07/2015 07:39

BD - that management style - fear driven - is alive and well - in France.

Crem - impressed at married after 4 months and staying the course. - well done.

OK -- shower!

NUFC69 · 01/07/2015 07:49

Sorry to hear that the work situation goes from bad to worse, Crem and BD. I hope the lines of communication with DD are still open, Crem. I am always impressed by people who have a short relationship and then who are still together years later. Well done on the run, Hatty. I am just about to go for a swim and Aquafit. Back later.

motherinferior · 01/07/2015 08:28

Our ahem courtship has of course never reached marital status but I got up the duff in five months...

motherinferior · 01/07/2015 08:29

I am in from a Very Sweaty Ladyjog.

MrsSchadenfreude · 01/07/2015 08:33

We got engaged after five months child bride and married a year later. I thought that was quite quick!

Rosebag · 01/07/2015 08:38

Sadly, Molly Herbs I can't do either tomorrow or next Thurs…I thought the latter was going be good but now I see DD has the dreaded sports day and I have to take and pick up , and it's a short day ending at 2.45. Sad
Crem that customer needs to be shot. BD I have realised that the NHS was like that all the years I worked for them…fear breeding fear. Awful.

MIEnvy as I can't wear yellow…go for it….it's pretty! I am waiting for delivery of this Also very bodeny…

I am hot, tired and fed up with the arse doing the path who now says he doesn't want to concrete it….and isn't turning up today.
And I was utterly pissed off with my phone camera which keeps letting me down when trying to film DS playing at concerts…I was almost in tears last night when he was accompanying a vocal group. DH just shrugs. Angry

Rosebag · 01/07/2015 08:39

DH went on secondment to North America 3 weeks after we met…We wrote airmail letters...

motherinferior · 01/07/2015 09:01

I have found DD2 the black cotton shirt she apparently needs for Sunday (not a T-shirt, ho no). And bought it on the household account. I might just get that frock, dammit...

MontserratCaballe · 01/07/2015 09:05

Hello crepeys.

Sorry for all the job woes - Flowers for Crem and BD. I hope they get resolved swiftly. All very unsettling. Today is my 17 year anniversary of starting at my current gaff. I wonder what the next few years will bring.

Rose - so sorry your phone let you down, but glad you got to hear the concert. You must have been so proud. Did any of your pals or the parents of the people in the vocal group take any videos which they could send you?

Herbs - I am in town next Thurs and free from about 4 if you fancied a celebratory cup of tea or something more refreshing. We can talk about the joy of 6 year old boys, both being proud owners. Have you sorted the bike? A neighbour kindly donated an old one to DS, so he is spared the shame of having a cast off from his sister.

MI, love the dress and am envious of the yellow as well. It looks so pretty but my rosy cheeks clash awfully with it. I struggle with dresses generally as I have a massive bust but do like them.

Well done to all the ladyjoggers. I took the kids to breakfast club and then did a very sweaty plod around Dulwich Park. Everyone else looked pretty rubbish too and noone was fast in the 26 degree heat. Made me feel a bit better.

Right, time for a shower - then off to B and Q to see if there are any fans left, quick trip to St Pancras for a birthday present then into the office. I am of course working from home as we speak Smile.

Hope everyone is OK and not too hot.

MontserratCaballe · 01/07/2015 09:07

Oh, and Rose, the airmail letters sound very romantic. Were they the folded up blue ones? Do you still have them? DH has written me the odd postcard but no letters ever, I don't think. We met online (racy for 2001 but normal now) and physically met about 3 months after our first email. He then moved in about 6 weeks later Shock.

hattymattie · 01/07/2015 09:12

Ok - have had shower - ironed and got control of the situation before serious heat kicks in. DD2 has got up early and gone to the pool. DD1 and DS still sleeping at 10 am. They both slept till 11 yesterday so I've an hour of peace to go.

Crem - I missed the appalling customer comment. Nobody deserves to be spoken to like that. He'd probably have been told to fuck off in France. It says more about him than you - bullying because he can!

MI and Rose - the Boden dresses look great. They are always too wide on the hips for me though. We had a plan to go to Galeries Lafayette today but I think I will wait till it cools down a bit.

Had a lovely meal out with friends last night - all sitting outside and not a bit cold! Am a bit grumpy though as DD's streamed and watched Pitch Perfect 2 without me.

Rosebag · 01/07/2015 09:39

Monty He accompanies the vocal club which is mostly lower school, so I don't think so… He was playing The Greatest Love of all…cheesy but nice, and La Bamba. Ah well, some you miss…

Yes, I have all the air letters…the foldy ones, in a box tied with a ribbon…. no PC's available then…

Hatty There is categorically no danger of anything being too wide on the hips for your truly… Grin

motherinferior · 01/07/2015 09:45

I have enormous bosoms but am trusting that if it fits round the bum, I can unbutton a bit and work a 50s-barmaid look Grin. The fact I do have a yellow lacy bra played no part in my decision to go for it, oh no.

herbaceous · 01/07/2015 09:46

Of all the days in all the week that I have to rush about on tubes, it has to be today. Have to go into my placement college to get some tedious admin signed, then into Institute to hand over my 'professional practice portfolio', a massive tome of assessment details, ILPs, reflections upon reflections, etc etc, which has been a nightmare to collate and which I'm pretty sure no-one will read.

Then to get some books from the library for my assignment, then home, via school to get DS. Then, cold shower.

Low carb diet not going swimmingly. Had suitably high fat, high protein breakfast and lunch, then DP cooked dinner with integral rice, and laid on wine. Thus no doubt causing all sorts of fat depositing.

Wishing for my fantasy floaty dress today...

beachyhead · 01/07/2015 10:40

I want a yellow lacy bra Envy to squeeze my bosoms into!

Sorry to hear about woes at work and waiting for news of work changes, BD and Crem..... My comapny has been taken over this year and the new owners keep telling us that they are not going to change anything. Firstly, that's clearly not true and secondly, we would actually like them to change quite a lot.

Beachygirl has been in contact, so all good there.

Today will be about trying to keep cool, keep the dogs cool and do as little as possible. Dh is off on a shindig for four days later today. I'm supposed to be going to, but have dug my heels in and will have 'maximum pottering experience' until Sunday - can't wait actually!

Actually, I'm washing sofa covers today - oh the life....

hattymattie · 01/07/2015 11:04

Beachy - I'm doing cushion coversGrin.

motherinferior · 01/07/2015 11:08

DP has done all our washing as he is off poorly and doing his usual tactic of demonstrating how putupon he is, rather than taking to bed as a normal person would.

herbaceous · 01/07/2015 11:11

I am anticipating being annoyed by DP and his unsuitable clothing choices. He wears, come rain, shine or heatwave, jeans, shirt and trainers. He gets very hot. When he gets hot, he gets grumpy. Or, indeed, grumpier. When I suggest that he wears something cooler on his legs/feet, and thus removes one grump factor, I am met with, guess what, grumpiness.

motherinferior · 01/07/2015 11:24

it was in the sale a while back...

lalsy · 01/07/2015 11:53

Oooh, that's gorgeous MI.

I am fed up with trying to get some summer clothes - the shops seem full of random stock and sizes in weird colours. So have had a splurge of online ordering of dull things like navy T shirts with decent neckline and, you know, a back and a front and sleeves, that one really ought to be able to buy in the high street. And I like high streets. I went to a Jigsaw at the weekend that had sale tops in...... size 8 and size 20.

Rosebag · 01/07/2015 12:14

Hussy MI Grin
