So there. :)

AAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHH......

Printing out reams of crap for this portfolio wot I am handing in, and my printer's run out of ink. How simply marvellous.

NUFC69 · 01/07/2015 12:36

Love the dress and bra, MI. Shoves Rose up the bench with her ample hips (and bosoms and stomach, and. ... don't think I need go any further). I am glad that you have heard from DD, Beachy. Herbs, DH has just gone to do the shopping wearing shorts and a shirt - his outfit of choice in the summer. Good luck with the Tube and the heat. What a pita, Rose. I do find the camera on my mini iPad excellent, by the way.

I am feeling a bit more with it today, after feeling giddy on Sunday and Tuesday, probably jet lag related. DH and I have decided to take DGS1, who is starting school in September, away for a couple of nights. A friend has a cottage on the coast and she has said we may borrow it. DD is delighted with the idea.

NUFC69 · 01/07/2015 12:42

What a nuisance, Herbs. It's the kind of thing that happens to me all the time, no matter when I last replaced the cartridges. I see it's the 1st July today, DS was born in July 1976; the year that there was a drought from April until September- I have vivid memories of standing in my bra and pants, with a huge belly, doing the ironing.

Oh well, must get on and do something.

herbaceous · 01/07/2015 12:50

This time six years ago I was overdue with DS. All I could manage each day was to lie on the settee watching wimbledon, with the occasional foray to the shop to buy a Magnum. It was great. Seems like a lifetime ago.

CointreauVersial · 01/07/2015 13:33

Grin at you lot washing your sofa covers and cushions.

There was a thread the other day about signs you are getting old: when a spell of hot weather is forecast, one's first thought is "oh, good, I'll be able to power through that laundry backlog". In my case, so true. Grin

motherinferior · 01/07/2015 14:24

DP has helpfully brought in a fan, which necessitated unplugging various things…his Aggressive Laundry has now moved on to feeble demands for a Large Lunch (“I’d love that sardine thing”) and then for alker-seltzer ("I did ask when you were going out" - yes but I was going to the POST OFFICE NOT THE PHARMACIST). Any good jury would let me off.

Rosebag · 01/07/2015 15:22

Ah the joys of man-flu….

The heat is my excuse to not power through anything, rather to lay on the sofa flicking between catch up of Holby and the tennis. I feel decadent… Grin Glad your feeling better NU. I cope woefully badly with the transatlantic jet lad…feel spaced out for a full week, whatever I do.

Rosebag · 01/07/2015 15:23

that'll be jet lag

beachyhead · 01/07/2015 15:49

I had a very strange conversation with two Canadians at work who looked horrified that I 'hung out'. Apparently in Canada it is very non-U to hang your washing outside. They looked truly amazed that I did......

Am now perusing multi coloured bras a la MI Smile

beachyhead · 01/07/2015 17:22

I've just bought this lovely number

Thanks MI

NUFC69 · 01/07/2015 17:25

Beachy, years ago I had a conversation with the wife of one of DH's American colleagues - 'but why hang out, it's just so much easier to put the washing in the tumble dryer and put a chemical sheet in so that it smells nice'. I never persuaded her and she didn't me.

Been out for a drive in my car with the top down - all was going well until we had thunder, lightning and torrential rain. That's our heatwave over then.

motherinferior · 01/07/2015 17:28

Ooh, that is nice.

I've only recently got into colourful bras. They are most cheering.

bigTillyMint · 01/07/2015 17:35

DD was born late, at the end of July 99. I remember laying on a sunlounger like a beached whale. Sadly, I can recreate that look right now.

NU, that makes me think of Last Tango in HalifaxGrin

CointreauVersial · 01/07/2015 18:20

Ooh, stop tempting me with your colourful bras. I'm a sucked for nice undies. The last set I bought were very boring (but necessary) - nude teeshirt type.

The weather is making everyone cranky and sleepy. DS was vile (again) when I dropped him off at football. DD1 is lying motionless on the trampoline. I'm trying to muster the energy to water the garden and/or cook the dinner, but I really Can't Be Bothered.

herbaceous · 01/07/2015 19:25

Hottest July day ever, appaz. I can well believe it. At least, in our study. Our sitting room, for some reason, remains lovely and cool. Maybe I'll sleep down there...

Just got my feedback for the assignment that nearly killed me. Very good! Yay!

NUFC69 · 01/07/2015 20:37

Well done, Herbs! We knew you could do it. Now get those applications sorted out. The temperature here changed from 27 degrees down to 16 in the storm, and now back to 20 plus. Much more pleasant than where you are, I guess.

motherinferior · 01/07/2015 21:40

I've just pranged the car...oh bugger.

motherinferior · 01/07/2015 22:02

Minor prangage - and the other car minor damage (left a note, obviously). Pulling out, distracted, banged it. DP being much nicer than when I pranged it four days before his mum's funeral...

CointreauVersial · 01/07/2015 23:00

Oh no, MI, what a pain. It's quite a new car, isn't it?

I never did water the garden - I'm banking on Mother Nature doing the job for me tomorrow.

motherinferior · 01/07/2015 23:01

Yes. New and unsullied. I've stopped feeling dreadful about it, though.

bigTillyMint · 02/07/2015 06:30

NU, it was 36 degrees in my car at 5pm when I dropped DS to the train last night. Poor boy, had a complete mare - I had to pick him up from school, quick turnaround and drop to train, 40mins journey to find the match wasn't on. Then had to wait for another train and get picked up by DH because the trains were all running slowly because of the heat and danger of tracks bending or something. He was really calm and mature about it - felt so sorry for him in that heat.

Just woken up to find that he must have appropriated the fan last night and has it set up on an upturned bin blowing on himGrin

Going to the doc this morning re my knee, which has got worse - doesn't feel good at allSad

Rosebag · 02/07/2015 07:08

Great news Herbs!

There's something to be said that no one was hurt MI but soz about the car.

Well don't to your DS Tilly for staying calm…I must admit that I worried about the DC on public transport yesterday, coming home from school. They looked liked boiled lobsters when they came in.

Another sleepless sweaty night but the good news is this arrived yesterday. Finally, the perfect summer dress. Hooray. Delighted with it…wearing today with silver Havainnas Smile

Excited and nervous ….first rehearsal for the reading of my play this afternoon…. yikes Shock

NUFC69 · 02/07/2015 07:22

Love the dress, Rose. Good luck this afternoon. BTM, I have a lot of experience with knees: the default with doctors seems to be "keep on taking painkillers". I hope you get a better response. MI, I think your DP reacted very well to the car incident, but these things happen.

I thought the apocalypse had arrived at 1 am. I have never seen anything like the lightning, and I think that someone was throwing rocks on the roof. Evidently the hail was the size of the proverbial golf ball. And then I couldn't get back to sleep because I couldn't remember how to pronounce apocalypse.Grin

I do love a toy boy, Rudy (I have one myself… Blush ) But did you mean DS? Grin Amazing dress btw!
