lucys the Mizon Good Night White Sleeping Mask has niacinamide as its 4th ingredient. It's also recommended for PIH which is one thing I wanted to focus on. I'm sure it helps, my PIH doesn't hang around for long now.

lucysmam · 26/06/2015 09:22

Thank-you Cornwall, I will look that up as well.

In fairness, I'm not as oily as before but by 2pm ish yesterday when I was leaving for school I definitely needed the oil absorbing sheets. Am going to see if home bargains has any of the 29p kleenex ones left when I go to town later - needed four Shock of them. Although using them rather than powder has been a revelation, I don't look all caked up by the end of the day.

Impatiently waiting for the postie now - been early all week & the one day dp does the school drop off, there's no sign.

ScrambledSmegs · 26/06/2015 10:02

My Innisfree parcel arrived! Surprisingly quick since I only chased it up yesterday. Full of great masks and a mirror with a picture of a man who's prettier than most women I know on the back.

I will take a photo when we're back from DD2's swimming lesson. The joys of being a SAHM - I'll miss these days when I'm back at work.

NewsreaderChic · 26/06/2015 10:33

KB'rs I really need help getting to the bottom of the whole ph level and wait times thing, I've read every link and more and I just feel more confused (science not my thing).

If I use my Cerave hydratingcleanser as my second cleanse PH 5 - 5.5 do I need to wait before the next step if that step is Cosrx Blackhead toner which is a BHA? Do I then have to wait and how long for the next step which is my DIY vitamin C serum? Again do I have to wait before moisturising/spf etc.

Also is that the right order or should it be Vit c then BHA

I've got some FTE samples on the way, where do they fit in?

NewsreaderChic · 26/06/2015 10:35

Also today's Dity shades of snail post is totally fab and worth a read with a cuppa.

lucysmam · 26/06/2015 10:44

News, I have been waiting after cleansing & before actives - I think something like the a-sol would serve as a ph adjusting toner but haven't got that far yet.

Vit c needs to go on clean skin so that would be your first step after the toner, then wait 20, then the bha with a wait of 20 so they don't interfere with each other.

I'm just on my way to town - need some more Clearasil pads, forgot them the other day & might treat myself to a sheet mask in Savers.

The Beauty Formulas one I tried last night was ok, nothing special. Bit bigger than the others I've tried, dried out faster & the essence felt kind of heavy/sticky after I removed the mask. My face was nicely hydrated this morning though so can't really complain for 69p Smile

ScrambledSmegs · 26/06/2015 12:00

Innisfree mask haul.

MitzyLeFrouf · 26/06/2015 12:49

My parcels have started trickling in.

Today I've received the Innisfree Apple Cleansing Oil which I'm no longer too excited about since some people gave it the thumbs down. But maybe I'll love it!

I've also received the Mizon Egg White Bubble Cleanser which I have high hopes for. I'm going to use it as the second step in my double cleanse post Body Shop Camomile Oil.

MitzyLeFrouf · 26/06/2015 12:49

Oh and the Mizon apple face peely whatsit.

lucysmam · 26/06/2015 13:15

I'm home. Got myself another vitamin c sheet mask for tomorrow night- was hoping my others would have arrived but no such luck so I'll enjoy that (unless they get here tomorrow). Stocked up on clearasil pads in Bargain Buys - their rack was almost empty so will buy another tub next weekend when I go to get a birthday present.

Also bought a Beauty Formulas Soothing & Nourishing hand mask with peach extract & shea butter for a pound so will report back tomorrow night about that for whoever it was who was interested in them - I can't remember who it was, sorry Blush

I had a brief look at L'Oreal/Olay stuff in Wilko, looking for something with niacinamide but decided I'd do more research first before buying anything. If I'm honest, Olay or L'Oreal would look out of place on my dresser now too Grin

Is it very bad to shop based initially on looks? Confused

In other news, my feet are not peeling yet...not that I'm impatient for them to peel or anything.

lucysmam · 26/06/2015 13:15

Oh, almost forgot link to a waterless skincare article on intothegloss.com that I was reading on the bus Smile

lucysmam · 26/06/2015 14:14

aha! I have found a niacinamide containing essence secret key dragon bloody essence that appeals - based entirely on it's name. They've even screenshotted the cosdna info for it, saving me a job!

The only thing I'm wondering, with niacinamide being 5th on the ingredient list, is how effective it will be. Off for some more reading.

wickedfairy · 26/06/2015 14:45

Today's post came and I received my Skinfood black sugar cleansing oil, will try that when my current cleanser runs out.

I also received (courtesy of LittleG) the Holika Holika Aqua BB cream and it is perfect! Has a lovely feeling and smell and is the perfect shade for me. Thank you LittleG, that was very kind of you and much appreciated! Grin

LittleG69 · 26/06/2015 14:50

You're welcome wickedfairy really gald you can make use of it!

mowglik · 26/06/2015 14:55

Lucysmam I think essences are not as concentrated as serums and ampoules so for more bang for your buck re niacinamide. If you are not using serums it may be a good excuse start to have a look at those

NewsreaderChic · 26/06/2015 15:18

Scrambled great haul, I'm very Envy.

FrugalFashionista · 26/06/2015 15:27

Lucysmam niacinamide as 5th ingredient sounds good but it won't be super concentrated.

Scrambled your Innisfree mask parcel looks lush

Happy that swaps are working out, good luck with new products!

I tested the Innisfree Rice Capsule Recipe Pod last night. It smells glorious, like sweet rice pudding, an instant comfort smell for me. A bit runnier and stickier than my other sleeping packs but I really like it. The pod is not resealable, I keep it in an empty Lily Lolo jar in the fridge. I love Innisfree products. If I do a lo-buy in July, I will keep an eye out on their weekly offers and probably buy a bundle of masks. I found out that My Scheming masks use MI as a preservative so I won't order them (I might be allergic), but a variety pack of My Beauty Diary masks is another strong contender.

We are still in Italy for a couple of weeks, we did the parties first as many people are leaving for vacations as school is out this week and Monday is a local holiday. Today, instead of feeling sad, we packed a basket full of sandwiches and tea and juicy cherries and figs and had a glorious picnic under pine and palm trees in our favorite park. I dozed in the grass and finished a novel while DC played and watched the turtles in the pond. Nanny is back on her feet after the operation, a bit weak still so she is getting time off to recuperate, but she was really happy to see the children.

lucysmam · 26/06/2015 15:44

mowglic, I hadn't thought to look at serums and ampoules, good idea. I'll have a hunt later on.

lucysmam · 26/06/2015 15:45

Frugal your day sounds absolutely lovely. What sort of novel did you finish?

CoconutAmericano · 26/06/2015 15:51

lucysum i bought this serum recently for it's niacinamide content. It's the 2nd ingredient. This is only my third day to use it so I can't say I've seen much of a brightening effect on my skin but it's as high in Niacinamide on the ingredient list as you're going to get (I think. I am happy to be corrected!)

FrugalFashionista · 26/06/2015 16:15

Ohwhat so sorry your skin is reacting Sad - I'd scale everything back for the holiday, then reintroduce products slowly one by one to see what is happening. I'm going to the beach next week and scaling back too. Sunscreen, sheet masks and capsules are coming along, not sure about the rest...

Lucysmam I finished this novel - it was a light read but it had enough literary ambition to keep it interesting, I particularly enjoyed the insights into Korean culture. I used to live in New York so the book took me back to some of my old favorite haunts.

This thread is killing me as I await about half a dozen packages....

lucysmam · 26/06/2015 16:38

Thanks Coconut, I will have a look at that one too. COSRX seems to be a reasonably priced all round brand. I have the a-sol and blackhead liquid on my list already.

ScrambledSmegs · 26/06/2015 18:23

Is it really called White power? Confused Shock

I've worked out that I'm still waiting for a Cosrx ampoule that I ordered in my initial BUY ALL THE THINGS mania several weeks ago. Says delivery is between 24 June and 24 July. Bit rubbish really. Shall console myself with sheet masks.
