these pouch ones. I just wondered if anyone had tried them & what they're like. They were in an article Frugal linked to the other week but I (probably due to shit google skills Blush ) am struggling to find any proper info other than ebay listings Confused

bigbuttons · 25/06/2015 13:42

frugal I know what you mean. I have PLENTY to be getting on with. My Sulwhasoo eye cream and face cream arrived yesterday. They have a funny yeasty smell but the eye cream in particular is amazing. It keeps my under- eye really hydrated.
I am awaiting the A-sol and the blackhead one and then I'm done until products start to run out which will be in a long time!

ScrambledSmegs · 25/06/2015 13:52

It's not you, Lucysmam Grin There's really very little on the web about these packs. The only english-language review I could find was on this blog. Scroll down to step 10 of her new skincare routine.

I get the impression from this blog that they're supposed to be a sleeping mask, is that right?

FrugalFashionista · 25/06/2015 13:53

Lucysmam here's a b&m Aritaum haul story for you, sadly in California or I'd be there in a heartbeat!

Bigbuttons now the eye cream is on my list too... This is more fun if there is always something new to try, but I want to avoid going overboard and drowning in clutter... I want to try Scinic stuff and My Scheming masks. But I'd love to order something from Innisfree too, their weekly specials are very good, and then something practical like A-Sol. And my AB friend sent me a long and very tempting list of her favorites. Decisions, decisions... Oh, all my Korean parcels have arrived except the one stuck a customs that contains the Benton snail bee serum and Mizon snail gel. I've given up on that.

frugal I got lots of small packs from ebay. Can't afford a proper pot, but actually the samples work out cheaper per floz!
By now my undereye would be showing signs of dryness, (otherwise known as deeper wrinkles) but they still look fine.
Unless something horrible happens by the time I've finished the samples i shall get some moreSmile

lucysmam · 25/06/2015 14:07

Thank you both!

Scrambled, as far as I could gather, they are sleeping masks, yes. As usual it was the packets that caught my eye bad way to shop Grin

ScrambledSmegs · 25/06/2015 14:30

If you have a few spare hours to while away, I totally recommend My Love From The Star (or Another Star, or The Stars, depending on the translation). I'm only on episode 2 but am loving the fact that the main female character (Cheon) may be beautiful, but is basically as thick as mince and twice as self-centred!

NewsreaderChic · 25/06/2015 15:20

I agree withyou all about the joys of buying skincare that has high end formulations at lower prices, why would you pay £100 for a serum? I'm a complete bargain hunter, that's not to be confused with someone who buys cheap, I just feel very cross if I pay more for something then I needed to.

Today's parcel was retin a ordered via eBay from Thailand just last Thursday, how quick is that?

Yesterday I went for a top up of my shhh secret Botox and the Dr commented on how how noticeably better my skin is looking. Grin.

bigbuttons · 25/06/2015 17:48

newsreader I totally agree. I like a lot of CH's advice but some of the products she recommends are utterly ridiculous. No skincare is worth stupid money. It just simply robbery and I have a huge distrust of people who market and sell it, preying on vulnerable and perhaps despairing women.

She seems to love Dr Zelons and the price of his stuff makes my eyes water. She loves him because he is an expert and cares very deeply about skincare( or words to that effect). Um, no, he cares about making money; If he cared that deeply he would market his products at realistic prices that all women could access and not line his pockets.

When you go on amazing sites like EDS forum and see how cheaply it is possible to reproduce these 'high end' products yourself for a fraction of the price it makes it all even more criminal.

Rant overBlush

lucysmam · 25/06/2015 19:43

Well, that would have been interesting - I nearly put frizz ease on my face Hmm

lucysmam · 25/06/2015 19:48

Who was it that was trying to work out Instagram? Scrambled, was it you? Did you work it out?

ScrambledSmegs · 25/06/2015 20:09

Yup. One more social networking site for me to get addicted to Blush. I haven't posted anything yet but I seem to have followers already. Weird!

FrugalFashionista · 25/06/2015 20:10

If you are on Instagram, #koreanbeauty #kbeauty #koreanskincare will have lots of interesting things, including many of your favorite AB bloggers.

Scrambled too bad we are not in the same city, I'd love to come over and watch K-drama with you Wink Do you watch it on Youtube or via a streaming service?

We had another goodbye party this afternoon, a really great one with champagne and live jazz and serenades for everyone. For some reason I felt great after the party, optimistic and energized and grateful, but DH who gave a beautiful toast changed into his pyjamas at 6pm, totally knackered and visibly upset. He does not get emotional often but I think today he realized that we are leaving. I am feeling much better, the difficult goodbuyes are over and I know I will stay in touch with the people that really matter.

Contemplating a sheet mask, though I may fall asleep if I do one now Wink

Haha! Étude house does Lego. Love it.

I completely understand the kitsch attraction,I love all of the dinky bits and pieces. Tony Moly does hilarious packaging. Étude House is so pink and sparkly I think they must pee glitter. I'm seriously going to get the strawberry hair rollers I linked last night. Not even joking! Pretty sure I saw Lisa Eldridge wearing them in one of her Korean haul vlogs, so I will be On Trend Wink

ITG has a story on the Korean waterless skincare trend today!

Glad you had a wonderful party and are feeling positive, Frugal! Thanks and I hope the relocation goes smoothly. Is it tomorrow that you're off?

Yes, I'm watching it on YouTube. Somewhat dodgy picture (so I can't see the true beauty of Jeon Ji Hyun's skin) but it has English subtitles and is free! Great fun.

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 25/06/2015 20:26

Ok, something has screwed up my skin. After a few weeks if oil hot cloth, foaming wash, rice water, vit c serum or retinol and sleeping mask at night, serum, moisturiser (lidl, but it's great) sun block and bb cream in the day. I got two patches of hot, watery spots on chin and cheek. I've pared it all down to hot cloth and moisturiser with t tree on spots. Dead annoyed as I was getting loads of compliments about my skin.
Also, we are off to somewhere really hot on holidays-should I knock the retinol on the head for a bit?

lucysmam · 25/06/2015 20:26

Frugal you all must be emotionally worn out. Your party sounds fab though Smile

Do I need the #'s on instagram?

I'm intrigued by the k-drama, will have a look on youtube.

ScrambledSmegs · 25/06/2015 20:30

Instagram does #'s for you. I was a bit weirded out at first but you get the hang of it.

lucysmam · 25/06/2015 21:01

Cheers Scrambled.

Talk to me about niacinamide again - I'm reading the daily eli5/routine help thread on reddit & it's been suggested that niacinamide has the potential to maybe limit sebum production. I could do with something like that - I'm just naturally oily & it's very annoying Sad

FrugalFashionista · 25/06/2015 21:26

A new Joyce Kong story on Refinery29 - Korea's Most Popular Beauty Ingredients

Lucysmam 50 Shades of Snail has lots of info on niacinamide!

NewsreaderChic · 25/06/2015 21:33

Lucysmam I know it's not AB but Cerave pm moisturiser is a good inexpensive source of niacinamide.

lucysmam · 25/06/2015 21:36

Lovely, thanks Frugal. I'll have a read of that instead of the pear lady then Smile

lucysmam · 25/06/2015 21:36

x-post, thank you News, I'll look that up too
