Not sure if I should be starting the new thread as I'm the last poster on the old one - is this how it works?

CV, I fear it was not me who has newly-fitting clothes, but RoseEnvy I have also gone the other way, alas.

Would be interested to hear what that restaurant is like for future reference.

So MI and Lalsy can join us on 26th, anyone else?

herbaceous · 11/06/2015 13:56

Crepeys you are all senile. It was me with the newly fitting summer clothes. Though only some - there are many I fear will never go around me again, yet I can't quite seem to part with...

bigTillyMint · 11/06/2015 14:11
Grin
Rosebag · 11/06/2015 14:27

I don't mind it Tilly wants to be Envy of me… Grin…although there's precious little reason…

I have survived a physio workout, a singing lesson and a trip to the garden centre Grin (the latter I dragged DS2 to as he's loafing again).

I'd love to come on 26th but it's a Fri night and probably too far away Sad

herbaceous · 11/06/2015 14:29

I might be on for 26th, but it rather depends on coursework, DP, parents, etc etc...

bigTillyMint · 11/06/2015 14:38

Fingers crossed Herbs! Sorry it's not a good night for you Rose.

hattymattie · 11/06/2015 15:02

Magi - I have made (got DS to make) a playlist for walking on the machines. This keeps me going when I am hot and sweaty - it involves much Talking Heads and early Brian Ferry.

In first world problems - my lipstick colour that I love has been discontinued. I usually have one and stick to it - so the quest begins for a replacement.

wordassociationfootball · 11/06/2015 15:09

Oh Cream. Bag 'o'shite Sad

Who was asking about facial sunscreen? I use ... Oh feck its upstairs ....

wordassociationfootball · 11/06/2015 15:18

it's Garnier Ambre Solaire protection lotion high 50. Says TRAVEL SIZE at the top. Smells great. Sinks in fairly fast (maybe not brill for really oily skin but worth a punt as...) only THREE QUID from Sainsburys.

Was recced by a derm to my friend.

wordassociationfootball · 11/06/2015 15:20

Sorry Crem. You're the cat that DIDN'T get the cream at mo.

Stropperella · 11/06/2015 15:20

Yes, facial sunscreen, what was that one you mentioned, MI? I am getting even more pasty in my crepeydom and that Sunsense one I've used for a couple of years appears to be too orange now.

Stropperella · 11/06/2015 15:21

Ah, x-posts WAF. I will look into that one. Although I am well greasy, so maybe it will just slide off my face.

bigTillyMint · 11/06/2015 15:22

That's a good tip WAF - I am still using up a tube of Clinique cityblock, but that sounds like a lot cheaper! Are you around on 26th as you're a SE Londoner?

wordassociationfootball · 11/06/2015 15:57

It does say quick absorption non greasy. Will look into 26th btm

lalsy · 11/06/2015 16:27

Speaking of S Londonders, Wilbur are you are interested in some third or fourth hand battered school uniform (missed the thingie cos avoiding going into ds' bedroom but will have had to gird loins by mini MU date, say)?

whattodoforthebest2 · 11/06/2015 17:53

I'm up for the meetup too.

Hi Where , I'm going to Swanage - I've rented a house for a week and various teens, gfs and young people will be coming and going, so I'm looking forward to some R&R (some hope).

I'm also in the process of buying tickets to go to T in the park in bonny Scotland - I went to Glastonbury in about 1986 and haven't been to a festival since ... am I mad, crepeys? I am stupidly excited and DD is understandably concerned that I may prove to be An Embarrassment (again).

bigTillyMint · 11/06/2015 18:42

Where is Swanage? Will PM you what!

Festivals are great what! A friend is going to Glasto and I am really jealous - great line-up this year.

whattodoforthebest2 · 11/06/2015 18:52

It's just beyond Bournemouth and Poole, if you're travelling West along the coast - it's in a heritage coastal area around Lulworth, Corfe Castle and Studland - stunning coastline and scenery.

There's so much of the UK I've never seen, because every time I get the chance to go anywhere, I head south and west - Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. I'm a West Country girl at heart.

The line-up at TITP is great - the next question is how to pack minimally, but still cover any weather eventualities. There are still flights for £34 that weekend, so I need to get my skates on.

bigTillyMint · 11/06/2015 19:07

Ah! Your description sounds lovely - I thought it sounded like docksBlush

wherewouldibe · 11/06/2015 19:50

Ah fantastic what - would you go with your DD or do you have a group of friends that you're planning on going with? I think my DS would die if I suggested going to something like that especially if I wanted him to come!

Swanage does sound like a 'rough' place - I have never been but I know that it's meant to be stunning so it's unfortunate that the name doesn't have that appealing edge. Is the house you have rented nice? Show us the link let's have a look at some 'holiday home rental porn' (will this catch on..? I doubt it)

whattodoforthebest2 · 11/06/2015 20:08

DD's best friend is going with younger brother and friend, her DF and his friend. I'm taking DD up a few days early to see Glasgow and will then hand her over to them for camping at the festival. I'm staying in a guest house as my back would never be the same again if I slept in a tent. So I'll be at the festival on my own but will be stalking DD if I think she's up to no good Grin So if anyone else is up for a weekend at Strathallan Castle, give me a shout!

OP posts:
hattymattie · 11/06/2015 20:39

Funny - I had exactly the same idea about Swanage as Where - it just doesn't sound very glad. It is only recently I've found out it's supposed to be really nice.

DH is out for a drink tonight and there is zero on TV (apart from the fascinating programme on teeth).

Stropperella · 11/06/2015 21:39

I can't get very excited about Swanage. I prefer the nearby Worth Matravers. (Square and Compass, anyone?). Durdle Door, obvs. Man o War Bay. Tyneham, when the ranges are open. But don't take home any ordnance you find on the beach. (people actually do this!)
By the way, I completely recommend Lyme Bay strawberry wine. Delish with fizzy water, mint and ice. In a Dorset back garden.
Eh, What, if you like the west, why do you want to move to Brighton??

A message from sunny Edmonton - yes, we're still here! At midnight last night they decided to put us up in the Renaissance Hotel at the airport as they weren't sure whether our plane would be fixed. Sitting at gate 50 again. No point in getting to Vancouver much before as our Airbnb man couldn't meet us until 5, so we've had a lazy morning and eaten too much. But, whisper, our plane has just landed so we should be on our way soon.

DH has just stopped taking the aspirin to thin his blood: it's a good job as he is bruising very easily and bleeding profusely when he catches himself.
